Eliora BlakeFirst YearSlytherin Eliora came down the stairs and sat down in front of the fire. She took off her robes and her shoes, leaving her in just her jumper, skirt, and stockings. Laying down on her stomach, Eliora opened the pad of parchment to a clean page and opened her box of chalk pastels, grabbing the black one before giving the paper a thoughtful look. She nodded to herself before starting to sketch the outline of her drawing, black lines and curves taking the shape of a woman who seemed to be in the process of transforming, her face sharp and feathers forming along her arms. Plucking the yellow from the box, Eliora gave the woman sharp, bright eyes and began coloring the rest. Currently: Drawing. Outfit:Slytherin Uniform. Accent:Very Welsh. Thoughts: She's either free, or she's trapped...

Is it morning? He wondered casually, yawning and stretching from where he lay slouched across the warm leather sofa nestled in the back shadows of the common room, far from where the murky green spill of sun could reach him. As he sought out any source of light, he realized, heโd never know the time of dayโnot by the submerged windows anyways. โWas that a grindylow? Rubbing his eyes, he shook his head and tried to peer through the window again, narrowing his vision, but nothing was there. Leaning forward and stifling a sigh, he rummaged through his robes until a silver pocket watch fell into his grasp. โSix o clock, great, no way to tell if itโs night or day, least I donโt have any classes now..โ He rationalized as he sat up straight and glanced around the room for the first time.
Thatโs when he noticed Eliora sprawled across the floor, the fireplace guiding her as she sketched. โHey, Eli, how are you?โ

How did we get here? When I used to know you so well?Marina Eugenie Aldred, Proud Halfblood, Slytherin Second Year
Wearing Mood: Furious and tired Thinking: Bloody jack*** With: Dominic Location: Slytherin Common Room Marina had been sitting in a shadowy corner, dozing. She had given up on sleep and had come down to read by the flickering half light of the fire. But her weariness had gotten the best of her until Montague decided to make noises by moving around. She hadn't noticed him while he was sleeping but now she did and she wanted to rip his head off, one for waking her up and two for being such a prat. "People are trying to sleep, do you mind?" she spoke up coldly. And added on, "I bet you thought you were clever with the Howler thing." She surveyed him with evident distaste. "Endurance is nobler than strength and has more patience than beauty."

Eliora BlakeFirst YearSlytherin Eli smiled as she heard Dominic's voice. The dark-haired girl pushed her drawing forward and turned over, propping herself up on her elbows to look at him. She reached up with one hand and brushed some of her hair away from her forehead. He looked so cute and sleepy. She smiled a bit more at that. "Bore da, Dominic. i'm ok, just drawing. Hope i didn't disturb your sleep." Her voice was pleasant until the last word. Her eyes cut over to the girl in the corner, and she rolled her eyes. "Dream about anything interesting, Dom?" Eliora had gone upstairs that night just before her astronomy class, and had gone straight to bed afterwards. She had only come down about fifteen minutes earlier to finish up her sketch by the light of the fire, as it was giving her color inspiration. The picture was nearly finished now, and the feathers of the owl-girl had taken on a fiery hue, almost as if she was more pheonix than owl. "I honestly dinnae mean to wake you if i did." She sat up fully now, sitting with her legs curled under her. She didn't have her robe on, and was wearing, instead of the usual Uniform, a black lace dress with a ribbon at the waist. A jacket lay beside her on the floor. Her parents had followed through and written her back, sending along with the letter a shrunken trunk full of her clothes, along with some sweets. Eli's voice lowered some as she glanced at Marina again. "What was she talking abou', Dom? That wasnae you with the Howler, was it?.." She raised one slim eyebrow at him, the right corner of her mouth twitching upwards into a small smile. It disappeared nearly instantaneously. Translations: Bore da = Good morning. Currently: Talking to Dominic. Outfit:Cute. Accent:Very Welsh. Thoughts: Why is he so bloody handsome?

How did we get here? When I used to know you so well?
Marina Eugenie Aldred, Proud Halfblood, Slytherin Second Year
Wearing Mood: Furious and tired Thoughts: Kill.Kill.Kill.Kill. With: Dominic and Eliora Location: Slytherin Common Room Marina paid the first year no mind and continued to glare at Dominic, seething with barely controlled rage. She would have started screaming at him, but that would have woken up everyone sleeping, and she couldn't take the whole of Slytherin house. Her pale fingers curled into fists and her eyes burned with a rarely seen intensity. The light of the fire wreathed her form in shadows. But she didn't look nearly as intimidating as she would have liked. She was wearing her too big gray sweater, which hung off her thin frame, over her pajamas, and was well aware that Dominic was a good three inches taller than her, and at least twenty pounds heavier. Yet she wasn't wary at all. Her rage had taken full control, and she really, really wanted to punch that crooked grin off his face. Connard. Te futueo et caballum tuum. Go hifreann leat. She was so angry she was cursing at him in three different languages in her mind. Forget magic, she would attack with her bare hands! But she held back, an almost animal like hiss nearly escaping from her lips. "Sorry to disappoint, but Michelle knows it was you, and that means Ada does too. Hell, even Damien's figured it out! You got your cousin, to help you, right? And here I thought a fifth year would have better things to do than play childish pranks. Well, it's not the first time I've been mistaken." Her voice was quiet but biting. "What is your problem? Is humiliating people just a hobby for you, or do you plan to make it a full time occupation? Seriously, get a life. You're lucky nobody reported you to one of the professors." Then a small, devious grin spread across her face. "Actually, I take that back. Whatever punishment you would get from them would be nothing compared to something Michelle thinks up. I doubt she's going to let this go. Better watch your back, Montague." She waited patiently for a reaction. "Endurance is nobler than strength and has more patience than beauty."
Translations: Connard is French for "a**" or "s***head". Te futueo et caballum tuum is Latin for "screw you and the horse you rode in on". Go hifreann leat is Gaelic for "go to Hell". Marina speaks these three languages, besides English, so it seemed appropriate. Please pardon her foul mouth. How did we get here? Well I think I know...

Ronyo Storm - Slytherin Sixth Year Slytherin Common Room Sleep had offered little in the way of comfort as Ronyo continued to see the events of the final confrontation with the demon play over and over. While they had won the day it had made profound changes in all of their lives, most notably for Phi and Colton but those still trying to go through their day to day lives were finding how much of an impact the event had truly put on them. So Ronyo had turned to meditation and looking to increase his focus and clear his mind of the negative and blocking emotions he was facing. His training in China was proving to be beneficial and the wandless magic practice classes had also helped improve his ability to dip into his inner magical strength and refine his focus even more. Now though Ronyo was looking to stretch out his sixth sense and feel the school and the people living within the old walls. Ronyo had gone about this process a few times in the past but never to any great length and most of the time the act simply better helped him solve puzzles and quandaries he was facing. Now however the white haired boy could sense the tension rising in the air close by and with a sigh he moved to the main area to hear the last bits of what sounded like Marina. The words brought curiosity and a bit of disappointment as the girl ended her small rant with a threat for Dominic to watch his back. If Dominic was truly the source behind the bad taste of a prank that was the howler then he should indeed receive a judgment and punishment but from the sounds and tone of the red headed second year not that way. To simply reciprocate an act such as the howler with a personal vendetta based action only perpetuated the cycle and would lead to more complications and confrontations in the future. Noting the tension in the air Ronyo had run his fingers along his two wands sheathed in their leather holders held behind his back. His un-tucked shirt hid the holster well but was not a hindrance when it came time for Ronyo to draw. He had practiced his quick draw many times to get down the idea for where he stored his wands and to make sure he could always retrieve them regardless of situation. Moving into view from his side of the room Ronyo looked at the people currently engaged in the situation. Marina and Dominic were the obvious ones but the third seemed like just an extra student caught in the mix. He had heard just a slice of her words before Marina had picked back up again, and the accent was noticeable. With luck the situation could be contained and handled without any more aggressive actions being taken than the raising of voices. โWhy should Dominic have to watch his back? If he in fact performed the deed you say then your duty should be to prove the idea and then see it handled by the right people. Vengeance is never the answer and only leads to greater problems in the long run. Dominic must also be given the right to address his ideas and feelings on the matter. To decline him of such only means you are no better than the person, be it Dominic or someone else, who committed the act. If you donโt hold yourself to a high belief and calling of honor no one else will do it for you,โ Ronyo moved to stand closer to a spot that put himself somewhat between the two in question while being able to see the first year as well, protection was his first job and justice his second, and turned to Dominic, โWhat do you have to say under these words Dominic?โ Ronyo knew Dominicโs potential anger and rage that could come about at times. Ronyo was able to help contain and let it out slowly on the Quidditch pitch to help the team but also keep Dominic from hurting himself or others. Here off the field though were the outlets of being able to hit a bludger at someone was not an option, only magic lay at the easiest reach. That was something Ronyo hoped it did not come to, and felt it would not simply given the time in which the conflict was occurring. People were less willing to do something crazy or risky if they were tired or had the possibility of sleep close by.

โโthe bloody hellsโ?โ Dominic stammered under his breath, nose and lips twitched into a sneer on his lips as his brows scrunched together in dismay as his vivacious blue oceanic eyes clouded with deep, dark waters. Marinaโs accusations had left him momentarily stunned, even though he was still casually perched against the couch, his elbow propping him up with his legs kicked out freely hanging over the edge. Even as Eliora had begun her piece, Dominic didnโt move. It wasnโt until Marina had cut Eli off, never so much as paying the first year a momentโs attention as she quelled a fire in her heart, barely able to douse the roaring flames seething in her blood as she challenged him, seemingly inching closer, her accusations drawing blood like a stab in the heart. โHeyโwoah, mate, youโve got it all wrongโโ He declared, eyeing each girl desperately, trapped, back against the wall.
But he wondered if they had even heard him, what, between Marinaโs cursing, only one language of which he didnโt know, the Latin he was a bit rusty on, but the Frenchโhe knew what those words had meant all too well. And to be honest, he hadnโt expected the tongue of his people to be flying out of her lips, especially so smoothly. She persisted, it seemed like every drawing accusation brought her a step closer, or maybe he was just imagining it now that he was on his feet and ready for anythingโa punch to the face, a slap on the cheek, a spell to the chestโhe was fully prepared to take it all, it was his mother had taught him to do. But before he could have said another word, his quidditch captain had appearedโฆ When Ronyo had finally addressed him, with a calm rational blanket of honor, Dominic didnโt know what to say. Of course it was me! How he managed to leave such a loop hole like this, heโd never know.
โI donโ even know what youโre talking about, matesโฆโ He finally decided, exasperated, and caught a crossroads. Of course he was going to lie, but some part of him feltโฆ wrong, for lying, not only to Marina, but to his team captain as well. His rage had never been a question at this moment, no, his pride and honor hadnโt been targeted, nor had he undergone any harm (any amount of which, always results in fury.)
He had only ever wanted to be likedโฆ But when the ties of his family were wrapped around his neck like a noose, and his only friend, Damien, had perhaps as much enemies as he did now, maybe more, maybe lessโthis sure wasnโt a way to start out his second year at Hogwarts.

How did we get here? When I used to know you so well? Marina Eugenie Aldred, Proud Halfblood, Slytherin Second Year
Wearing Mood: Shocked Thoughts:! With: Dominic, Eliora, and Ronyo Location: Common Room
Marina stared. At Ronyo, who'd suddenly appeared out of thin air, and Dominic, who was now blatantly lying to his captain's face. Her expression was one of horror and disgust. She wasn't just horrified and disgusted by Dominic's lying, she was horrified and disgusted by herself, because she hadn't gone off on someone like that since she was 10, and quite frankly, that muggle boy who'd been pushing her around for years had deserved it. It had been worth being punished. But.... Was this worth it? Worth Ronyo's disappointment in her? She felt like a deer caught in the headlights of an oncoming vehicle, and all she could do was stand and watch her downfall approach. So she stood there, and said nothing, because she had no more accusations, no more threats. There was simply nothing left to say. The fire that was racing through her, giving her the nerve to say such things was gone, flooded away by a whole new tide of emotions. Part of her wanted to cry, and another wanted to laugh at the ridiculousness of everything, but she wasn't sure if that part was completely sane. She slowly unclenched her fists, and realized she didn't have her wand on her. It was upstairs, lying on her bed. Dominic must have a temper. Otherwise Ronyo would not be standing in between them, and she doubted he was worried about her doing any actual damage to Dominic. More likely the other way around. How stupid was she, to go picking a fight utterly defenseless? He could have actually hurt her, and she would probably have been unable to do much back to him. She shook her head, more at herself than anyone else, and continued to stare at the two boys. "Endurance is nobler than strength and has more patience than beauty."

Eliora BlakeFirst YearSlytherin When Eli saw Marina start to step closer and closer to Dominic, Eliora rose to her feet, standing just to the right and a little behind Dominic. She couldn't do much of anything with magic, but she had words. When Dominic said that he didn't do it, Eliora blinked. She thought she, too, could tell that Dominic was lying, if only because of how flustered he seemed when replying. "Well, then. He says he dinnae do it. Tha's it then, yea?" Obsidian orbs turned up to cerulean in a questioning gaze, but she leveled them first on Marina, and then Ronyo, with a smile. "Sorry to have woken you." One slim eyebrow raised ever-so-slightly, a decimal that would hardly be noticable, and a tiny smirk played on the girl's lips. She wanted to just take Dominic's hand and pull him away so the two older students would leave him alone. But that would be bad, most likely. Men didn't like girls defending them or "saving" them. So she would wait. If he wanted to talk, he would likely lead her away from the situation. "Geneth ynfytyn a'i cwestiynau..." Eliora muttered, hoping that Dominic, living in Wales, knew some Welsh. Most people there did. And hopefully, this girl before her, did not. But she doubted she did. Eliora had run into hardly any Welsh speakers in the school. And judging by her previous curses, which had included, what Eli could understand, more Irish Gaelic, the girl would be at a loss for the words. Welsh was completely different from the language the girl spoke. Translations: Idiot girl and her questions Currently: Fighting a snicker. Outfit: cute. Accent:Very Welsh. Thoughts: I hope he doesn't get mad at me...

Ronyo Storm - Slytherin Sixth Year Slytherin Common Room Something didnโt smell right about this encounter but Ronyo was having a hard time putting his finger on it. At this point without any extra information or clues for this puzzle Ronyo was forced to now pit the word of one person against the other. It was never a situation that could end well unless the person lying cracked under the pressure. This was a moment that could end badly should someone get agitated and pull a wand, thankfully Ronyo felt that under the circumstances and given the people involved it would not come to that. Dominic spoke about not knowing what the situation was about, which did not help his case given the fact everyone heard the howler at the sorting. It was unlikely Dominic was trying to infer that he did not know about the howler though, but simply the source of the letters origins. That was what anyone listening under the situation would have taken from the words but the manner in which Dominic spoke the words had Ronyo believing the former idea. The comment was made in a quick defensive reaction to being confronted by the crime and being accused, Dominicโs words came from trying to separate himself as far from the crime as possible by claiming no knowledge. If Ronyo had more authority then it might have been possible to ask deeper and more detailed questions to both parties. It would be helpful to understand how Marina came to the conclusion she was now standing on. Likely it was more of a personal matter, a sense of knowing more about the people in question than the simple layer deep Ronyo was privy to. Marina had stayed silent after Ronyo had made his entrance and statement. She did seem taken aback by his words which was a good thing. If she was thinking about what she had said and the meaning behind her words then it showed someone who sometimes simply spoke through emotion and not fully on intent to follow through. It was easy enough to get angry at someone and begin shouting anything to try and make the person fill the way you do or to harm them in some way. Words are weapons just as much as swords and spells but they effect and focus on a much different target area. โDominic I would say this much, if you had been the one behind the act it might be beneficial to think on why you felt the deed necessary in the first place. The reaction from the letter did not seem to be anything less than knowing it was faked, or at least the facial expression of the girl did not look hurt by it from what I could see. The howler seems to have failed in its intended effect, unless that effect was to gain the anger of Marina and likely the other girls in the letter. Again I have no rightful reason to hold you accountable simply on words alone, unless those words are from the person who is responsible,โ Ronyo turned to Marina at that, โFurther evidence would have to come to light for any action to be taken against Dominic. As I also said it does not appear the letter did any harm other than upset you Marina, which you might want to think about as well. Your wish to defend your friends is admirable and I would never wish to see you stop in doing that, as I would be just as passionate about defending my friends. I would have you think deeper into events and try and see all the possible outcomes and in cases like this targets. The letter did not make the girl who got it run crying out of the hall, did not make her turn on the Michelle, did not make Michelle do the same on her end, but did in fact make both those two girls and you upset and angry. I would retract my original statement about saying the letter did not work in saying maybe the letter worked better than the one responsible thought. To become angry means you begin to loss focus and the ability to think clearly. Your mind will latch on to something and hold it like a dragon guarding its eggs. Make sure when you get angry you are not just falling right into your opponents trap, โRonyo turned back to Dominic in his long winded investigation, โand I would think the person who sent the letter, whoever that may be, understands the principles of anger well, and that while angering your enemy can be beneficial to you in open warfare, when it comes to small confrontations in a social setting nothing is worse than a womanโs wrath,โ Ronyo sighed as he sat down with the first year just across from him now and smiled at her before he looked back up at the other two, โI would say move on from the issue unless you feel greater evidence is available, move on from the issue if you feel you truly had nothing to do with the matter or admit it did not work as you wished. If you let this consume you then it could possibly change you, and if you let ideas like this continue to influence your actions it will only lead to dark and lonely paths, โThe words should have been clear to whom each was for, as Ronyo looked once again to the first year, โAn artist I see, always been a fan of art myself. Anything interesting in that sketch book or just personal doodles and sketches?โ

How did we get here? When I used to know you so well?
Marina Eugenie Aldred, Proud Halfblood, Slytherin Second Year
Wearing Mood: Tired Thoughts: I can't believe-Oh, forget it... With: Dominic, Eliora, and Ronyo Marina opened her mouth as if to say something then sighed and stayed silent. Really, what could Ronyo do? He wasn't a prefect and she had no proof. But she couldn't believe that Dominic was getting away with something like this again. He was extraordinarily lucky. Well, all she had managed to do was make herself look like an idiot who jumped to conclusions, which was not true. But she couldn't stand to stay there watching Dominic and his hateful girlfriend. Marina didn't speak Welsh but knew from the tone whatever the first year had said probably wasn't pleasant. Oh joy, more enemies. There was plenty she could have said, but she was too tired and it wasn't worth it. No sense in picking another fight. She turned around and headed upstairs to the Girls Dormitory, preparing to try and fail to fight off nightmares once again. "Endurance is nobler than strength and has more patience than beauty."

Eliora BlakeFirst YearSlytherin Eliora watched as Marina's mouth opened and closed like a drowning fish as Ronyo continued his speech. The girl gave her an obvious glare as she headed upstairs, and Eli just giggled, almost innocent sounding. As Ronyo asked about her art, her head tilted ever-so-slightly to the right, and her big, obsidian eyes blinked. She curtsied, smiling at him. "Diolch yn fawr. The one that it is open too was inspired by an owl taking flight... and the flames before it." It was nice, having someone take interest in her art. She stayed near Dominic, ignoring the girl as she stormed up the stairs loudly. She looked upon her picture, the woman transforming into an owl or a phoenix, and smiled a small smile. Silence reigned on, even as Ronyoโs fluent assessment of the situation had taken flight, even as the emotions painted upon Marinaโs features struck him so suddenly, piercing, he wanted to take a step back away from it allโbut he didnโt. He chewed on his tongue to keep it from thrashing wildly against his teeth, all the while tensing every rigid muscle in his body without making it seem too obvious. The rivaling emotions of Eliora spiraled and bounced off of the room, clashing infinitely at Marina as the vivacious redhead departed up to the girlโs dormitories without so much as even a word.
And there Storm was, as though nothing had ever really happened, but, knowing more and more with each passing second. Having been in France for the past two summers, he was a bit rusty on his Welsh, but having lived so close to it for so long, he couldnโt have forgotten if he tried. โโlooks bloody brilliant,โ Dominic broke himself from his trance if only long enough to feel a penchant of jealousy worm into his heart and force him an abrupt step closer towards Eli as his natural instinct demanded of him. Ronyo Storm - Slytherin Sixth Year Slytherin Common Room Watching Marina turn and walk away without a word had Ronyo wondering how much he had helped and how much he had hindered. He trusted Marina and her words but even if that was the case he knew it would be better for the girl in the long run to try and step back from the event. Ronyo had done his job, to protect the students in all ways as a member of the Chimera Club, and in this instance it had Marina who had been protected. The girlโs emotions could have spilled over and caused a situation that might have landed her either in the Hospital wing or expelled. Dominic would have face the consequences of his actions at one point, be by Ronyoโs hands or by the basic idea of what goes around comes around. Looking at Eli as she showed her drawing Ronyo was curious were the girls sudden loyalty to Dominic came from. True Marina had come off rather aggressive in her accusation and not properly observed her surrounding before striking, but her cause had been just. Looking closer at the girlโs drawings he enjoyed the artistic take on a transfiguration that would be considered wondrous even in the wizarding world. With a smile Ronyo stood up and nodded to Eli as he moved to leave the common room for a bit. โYou have talent young miss; make sure you keep it up. And please donโt take Marinaโs outburst the wrong way; she is looking out for a friend is all. She just needs to learn some subtlety timing is all. Now if you will excuse me Iโm going to get some fresh air, the dungeons donโt fit me all that well,โ Ronyo turned to Dominic as he moved, โLearn from this Dom, what is worth the trouble and worth the consequences? If you were behind the event I would think about mending bridges before they have completely burned away. Just because we are Slytherin does not mean we have to have enemies everywhere.โ With that Ronyo nodded to the boy and moved towards the common room exit. It wasnโt really something done during the later hours but Ronyo had no intentions of going romping through the castle. He just needed some fresh air from the main levels, his love for nature caused him to dislike having to live and sleep so far underground and blocked in by stone.
