Mac woke up late, and Mike was still asleep. He quickly got up, sitting upright. He felt he had wasted most of the morning. "Hmmm, I wonder if Aria is up..." he quickly got out of bed, and slipped his clothes on, walking out of the room. "Aria?" he called out.
Nira had been smiling quite a lot lately. "Oh its so fun to make trouble, and I haven't done anything myself really" she said as she got up and walked to her mirror, she smiled looking at her beauty. She walked over towards a sort of cabinet, with potion bottles filled with who-knows-what, picking up a bottle, "This will make them writhe" she said, as she went over to her bubble viewer. She held the potion in her hands, playing with it, "But not now, lets wait for the right moment. Her view was set on the open sea.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Joshua sat down on the sand, at the very edge of the water. He didn't feel like soaking himself already and Nezik could hear him just fine from here. He crossed his ankles and pulled his knees up to his chest. "I think it's got something to do with Narcis and Katalina." He said, answering Nezik's question.
"The Sirens have several females to each male, right? And Narcis already has Riiya and.....Korai? Is that her name?" He seemed unsure of the second Siren's name. He'd barely seen her and hadn't spoken to her. "But if Narcis agrees to the union with Katalina, then what happens to Riiya and Korai? Because the merfolk have a one to one relationship, which leaves Riiya and Korai left alone. So Narcis probably has to find someone else for them. But what if they really are attached to him, and not just for convience's sake?"
Joshua explained the situation as best as he knew. He was guessing at a lot of it, filling in blanks between what he'd been told and what he'd seen. "I can't be one hundred percent sure, but I think that's what issues he has to sort out." The tiger that should be....isn't....

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... "In here!" Aria's voice came from the kitchen, where music could be heard playing in the background. The girl returned to singing along with the radio. She'd gotten up earlier and checked on the boys, but they'd both been asleep. So she decided to make breakfast. And right now she stood at the stove, dancing and singing along. Her long brown hair was tied up into a high ponytail out of her way, swaying as she moved. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Mac's eyes flickered with the sunlight on his face. He wanted to know what she was cooking. "Hey, are there pancakes?" he asked.
Mike quickly opened his eyes, wondering were Mac was. He quickly got up and put his clothes on. He walked out and bumped into Mac. "Jeez" he stumbled slightly, still gaining his vision.
Mac lurched at being bumped, "Morning much?" he said.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aria chuckled, watching the two boys. "'Fraid not Mac. Just french toast. You weren't up early enough to request breakfast." She informed him with a laugh. Reaching into the cupboards, she pulled out plates and glasses for the pair, dancing and swaying to the music as she did so. She set the stuff on the table, along with knifes, forks, milk, and orange juice. "How many do you each want to start with? There's plenty so don't be shy." From her cheeful tone, it was easy to see that Aria was definitely a morning person. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Both Mac and Mike quickly say, "I love french toast", and both took their seats. Mac right next to Aria, as he normally does. Mike quickly piled three pieces onto his plate, as did Mac. Mac got some butter on his knife and spread it on his pieces. Mike passed him the syrup when he was done, and Mac liberally coated his as well with it.
Mac moaned with pleasure eating the syrupy bite. "Mmmmm, its soo good" he said with a smile. The food was incredible to him.
Mike took a bite, and then didn't even notice the dripping syrup down his chin. "OMG I luv you!" he said all dramatic and playful like he does.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aria leaned against the counter, waiting for the last of the food to finish cooking. She laughed at their antics. "I'm glad you seem to like them." She told them, giggling. Her sea green eyes were bright and dancing with amusement. It was nice to have someone else cheerful in the morning. Her grandfather was a real bear until he'd had breakfast and an hour to wake up. When the last of the french toast was cooked, Aria flipped them onto her own plate, taking a seat at the table, next to Mac. She poured herself a glass of juice, then asked the boys, "Would you like some? Or something else?" The tiger that should be....isn't....

((OOC: I find it entertaining how we jump from despair and trauma to yay, breakfast! XD))
Nezik frowned, nodded, was about to speak when Jinx surfaced and casually interrupted. "Actually, it has nothing to do with Sorry, because Sorry and Narcis aren't so sure of themselves that they're going to commit to a union yet." Casting Joshua a glance, she added, "Unlike humans, merfolk can't break it up when they get bored, and it lasts a lot longer, so if they've got the chance to choose, they have to be pretty certain."
She tilted her head. "But you're sort of right," she said. "It does have to do with Riiya and Korai, and our mating rituals." She shrugged one shoulder. Obviously, her brother had told her what was going on before he left. "Females left without their leader are technically...I guess you humans would consider it property left out in the open, without its owner around. And no matter how you word it, that kind of thing attracts thieves."
Elaborating, she said, "Another Siren male was moving in on my brother's territory because he'd been gone for so long. If Riiya and Korai weren't attached to him, they'd be long gone. But Riiya loves him." She said it in a detached way, as though noting the sky were blue. "And Korai feels kind of motherly towards both of them, I think. So they were waiting it out as best they could."
It was with a mild shrug that she finished, "Narcis doesn't really care if you guys know. It's probably a good thing, actually. Until he's either decided about the union or chased off the other male, he'll probably have to spend more time there."
Apparently, it was very odd for Siren females to be alone, or not under the control of their leader, which raised the question of why Jinx seemed free to do as she wished.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... ((Pro skills, that's all there is to it. XD ))
Joshua flushed as Jinx corrected him. "Well, I did say I wasn't certain." He muttered in his defense. He'd only been guessing really. In an odd way though, he was glad she was telling him. This way he wasn't left with only half the information. "Well that makes sense I suppose."
But one thing Jinx had said bugged him. "But if females without their leaders are......left open...." He tried to phrase it as best he could. "Then what about you? You seem awfully unattached. There never seems to be any Siren other than Narcis around you." He tiled his head to the side, watching Jinx curiously. It was all just one more puzzle to him. The tiger that should be....isn't....

((OOC: We're just awesome like that. >.>))
Jinx smirked. "I'm just special like that. I don't need a leader," she replied, ignoring Nezik's pointed glance. After the merman nudged her, she rolled her eyes and elaborated. "There's, you know..." She shrugged. "An age thing. I'm too young to be claimed by any male yet - I don't have much longer to run around free, though. Usually a female is claimed when she reaches a hundred, if she's not already promised to someone by then."
She looked a little uncomfortable, explaining this, but then seemed to shrug it off. "I'm not promised, so in the meantime I'm expected to be cared for by my father or my brothers." Looking amused, she added, "I prefer spending time with Narcis. He's much less strict than the others. But my father wants me to spend time equally with everyone." She wrinkled her nose a little. "I just got here, so I should be good for the next five years or so. Assuming we're not all dead by then."
Nezik sighed. "That's the way to look on the bright side, Jinx," he remarked. Although Jinx shot him a look, she didn't retort.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Joshua raised an eyebrow at Jinx's first claim, not really believing it. His disbelief was confirmed when Nezik prodded the Siren to continue. "Ah, so that's it. I keep forgetting that you're still young." Jinx always seemed older, just the way she spoke and acted. It was different from how Nezik seemed young.
At her last words, he had to chuckle quietly. "Well that's one way to look at it I suppose." He said, shaking his head with a smile. He pushed himself to his feet, stretching before saying, "Well, I gotta get this gear put away properly. I should have done it earlier, when I got here, but I was too tired. I'm just glad I set it above high tide." He set about gathering up his stuff. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Mac nodded, "Yes! Juice please!" he smiled. Mike waved her off and basically replied no thanks. "I'm too busy enjoying this food" Mike said with food in his mouth.

The tiger that shouldn't be....is.... Aria poured a glassful for Mac, then reached over and flicked Mike in the head. "No talking with your mouth full. It's very rude." She told him with a small frown. She added syrup to her french toast and began to east it, humming quietly to the music that still played. She hadn't bothered turning the radio off as it was quiet enough that they could still talk. The tiger that should be....isn't....

Amused, Jinx flicked her tail. Then her head tilted, and she nodded to herself. She glanced at Nezik as though seeking confirmation, and the young merman nodded as well. The two of them were like bobblehead dolls.
Jinx waved at Joshua. "Have fun cleaning up. I'm going to go get Sorry. She's ready to come home now - something about being bitched at by the healers and no one letting her alone. Also, she wants to be here for..." She trailed off there, shrugged. "You know. For her."
No question about who 'her' was.
With another flick of the tail, Jinx vanished below the water, streaking off so fast she was practically a blur. Nezik watched after her for a moment, then shrugged and turned his attention to Joshua. Since there wasn't much he could do to help stow the boy's things, he just watched.
