Well i wasted 3 things of bait and only caught like 6 things, and then i couldn't figure out how to save the things I got, so when I closed the game and checked my inventory they weren't there, and after that I pretty much gave up.

I don't have any bait though otherwise i would give it too you.

Well for one, you could have tried during the glitch period. Secondly, you can only save after you finish a bucket OR click the SMALL red x in the corner xD. Then type in the captcha. 3nodding
