Digimon: Shadow of the Forgotten Moon

[DM Draco Moondragon]

While asleep in their prison, Draco and the now in-training form Missimon were awaiting rescue. They both knew that someone was on the way to save them, and that they couldn't make it out themselves. Missimon, now mostly healed, was the first to awaken. Hmm... I see we were taken prisoner. Nothing we can do about it, sadly, but I know I heard Draco say that help was coming...

The bridge wobbled unsteadily as Dante crossed. At one point, a board even broke out from under his foot but he successfully caught himself. He finally made it across successfully. Virgil's crossing was just as iffy. As he got to the end, the ropes started fraying, causing the bridge to sway dangerously but he made it across. On the other side, there was a brick road. Ahead, they could see it led to a small town, presumably Toy Town. They would arrive in the town just as the sun was setting, casting shadows over everything.

Karisa worked, sketching and planning on the papers before her. BlackGatomon was soon bored with the paperwork and headed back outside. She sat down, tail around her paws as she watched Scott and Leomon.

Scott hefted the axe after the two set up rows of logs. Nodding, the two took positions at the start of each row. A digino shouted go and the two started down the row, Scott swinging his axe to split wood, Leomon punching. They worked fast and soon both were tiring. Leomon, however, had more dexterity and soon was in the lead after a furious fight for it.

Leomon was first to finish, but Scott came up close, not willing to show weakness in any way. Breathing hard, he smiled at BlackGatomon. "The logs are split!" As soon as he set down the axe the two burst into motion, picking up the wood to pile into interesting shapes.

Soon two wooden statues stood tall. One was of Karisa, it was even carved to look like her, Scott found his pocket knife. Leomon's statue looked like BlackGatomon, also carved. The two sat down for a rest and laughed, backs together.

"Okay, not gonna lie, that really scared me for a moment there. It was like Final Destination scary." Dante said after he got off the bridge. They followed the road into town and noticed how the sun seemed to be setting. "So do we, like, wait for someone to spot us?" Virgil asked, looking around the place.

The town looked quiet. In the shadows of the setting sun, it looked like most of the digimon had gone to bed. There was the odd digimon here and there, most likely on patrol, that the twins could choose to go to or avoid. At the center of the town, was a tower, likely where the other digidestined was being caught. Or the twins could wait and sleep just outside of town, to decide a plan in the morning.

BlackGatomon watched, impressed despite herself. The two certainly had skills. At least she knew they wouldn't be a burden to Karisa as they traveled. She looked surprised as she realized what the two were carving. She padded closer, looking over the statues. They were surprisingly well made, she noted.

The twins decided to head up to the Digimon that was patrolling the area. "Excuse us, we're tourists, and we were looking for a buddy of ours who highly recommended this town. You know where he might be?" Dante asked nonchalantly, like it was no big deal that he and his twin were talking to someone who would likely rip their heads off if given the go-ahead.

Soon the two were up again, dissembling the statues to stack the logs into a pyramid. They looked at BlackGatomon and smiled. "Hey, do you know where there are good sized rocks?"

The Mekanorimon turned to face the twins. The digimon examined them for a moment, then announced, "Intruder. Intruder. Intruder. Must capture intruder." He moved towards the twins, hands up to capture them.

BlackGatomon nodded, heading towards the forest. "Over this way. There's a rock pile that juts out of the ground." She led the way through the trees, not seeming bothered by the dark, twistedness of them. She led them to a spot where a rock thrust up out of the ground. Smaller rocks were scattered around it's base, having broken off over the years.

Scott and Leomon nodded thanks to BlackGatomon and began to line up rocks like they did the logs. Grinning, they breathed deeply before raising their arms slowly. All of a sudden the brought their fist down at the same time. The rocks burst open, Leomon's in a cloud of rubble, Scott's not so much, but it was still split through. They went down the line, alternating fists. Soon they ran out and turned towards the jutting rock.

Draco woke up to the commotion outside, then noticed that Missimon was okay. "Hey, buddy! You look a lot better!"

"Yes, sir! I feel better, too." Missmon's eyes took on the appearance of a smiley face, then reverted to normal.

"That's good. Feel up to Digivolving, yet?" He wanted to "get the hell out of Dodge," as the saying goes.

"I don't know. I just woke up a little while ago, myself."

"Only one way to find out, then." Draco held out his Digivice and nodded to Missimon, getting a nod in return. The Digivice started to glow, showing that Missimon did indeed have the energy.

"Missimon digivolve to Commandramon!"

"Oh hell no!" The twins yelled as Gabumon and Augumon jumped into action, tag-teaming the Makanorimon

Mekanorimon brushed off the first attacks like they were nothing. "Must capture intruder. Twin Beam!" The red core in it's chest began glowing then fired a beam of red light at the two digimon. The digimon was slow though and the beam went past the two rookies harmlessly, destroying the building behind them with a loud crash that echoed through the town.

BlackGatomon watched them, her tail flicking side to side. "What are you doing?" She asked, baffled by their actions. Why were they attacking the rocks? It didn't make sense to her in the slightest.

They stopped and turned to the Digimon. "Strength and endurance training." Scott gave her a sheepish grin and Leomon tried to pull off his version of a smile. They never really thought if they looked weird.
