"Have you even given anyone the chance?" Kai asked as he raised an eyebrow at her while un-messing his hair. At least he'd been on the occasional date over the years. Once again, not that he'd tell the others that.

"Why would I want to? I don't want kids, nor do I want to bind myself to some hopeless idiot." Larai replied easilly, as if she were talking of the contents on a grocery list. "I'm content as I am."

Van pouted slightly before looking back down at Anise. "Anise, I pray you never grow up to be as bitter as your sister." he half joked.

"Wouldn't her having a child mean her laying with a man?" Larai asked with an eyebrow raised. "Or would you preffer not to think of that?"

"When did I say anything like that? I just want her to experience the joys of being in love that you don't seem to want." Van said sticking a tongue out at Larai. "I thought that was every girl's dream, finding their prince charming or what have you."

"It quickly fades, believe me." Larai replied with a small sigh. "Not every girl has to live a fairy tale."

"You're half god, I for one think you deserve a little special treatment." Van said giving Larai another one armed hug.

{Btw, whatever happened to Guile? Did he go off on his own, an abandoned plot? Is he traveling with them quietly? Or what?}

"If I find one that can actually give me that, I guess I wouldn't mind it too much. I just don't want any old loser, though. If anybody, I want someone thrilling - dangerous even. Not just a plain old moron you can find anywhere."

((I don't know anymore. I can't think of what else to do with him, besides an emergency plot device/Chekov's gun. sweatdrop

Shrodinger's Character: He's there/not there until we decide one way or the other as to his future usefulness in the current plot. xd ))

"Last I was aware, there are still a few decent thieves out there if that's what you're looking for. I'm sure there are some other fine rogues and bad boys for you if that's what you want." Van said with a light chuckle.

"Thief? I don't want any of those petty pick-pockets if I have to go for one. I want someone who can really do a good heist, someone who's thrilling and maybe a little dark."

"Like I said, last I could tell, there were at least a few good thieves out there." Van said with a chuckle. "Go after the good prizes and you might meet them eventually."

"Maybe..." Larai muttured, drifting off into thought now. Of course, when she mentioned the word 'dangerous, she really meant dangerous. Maybe a ruthless mercenary? A broody, secluded, yet hansome looking mercenary? Or was this just another one of her secret fantasies?

"Just don't find someone too over the top. I know we're essentially a family of thieves, but even I have standards. I don't want you bringing home some seven foot tall demon man that kills kittens in his spare time as a fiance or something." Van half joked.
