"Order is to be maintained. We should report back to an officer and seek out further orders since ours here are finished. What good would a soldier be if he did one order and then struck out on his own?" Jance paused. "Let us find our orders. It isn't as if we aren't in the middle of a fort."

Daya grits her teeth, she never was any good at this military thing. Her work was always freelance.
Fine, let's get our orders so we can move on to something more pressing.
Not bothering to wait for anyone she promptly storms off in the direction of their commanding Officer.

Kavrus, entering the barracks, found most of the soldiers up and readying their gear. A small form, almost invisible in the dim flickering light from the torch outside, nearly ran into Kavrus as he stepped through. "Pardon me." he whispered. Stepping through the door he saw Jance and askedh ow things were going. Once he had been caught up he left to follow the diminutive form who had slipped past on silken feet. "I don't remember any halflings in our group." he thought as he walked back toward his bunker and the officer within. "She must have either been stationed here before or come in after us."

Daya hastily makes her way back to their commanding Officer by weaving under the feet of the quietly moving troops trying to get to their posts. Stopping to catch her breath for a moment in front of the wimpy looking Lieutenant she speaks in hushed tones.
The men are on the move, as quietly as they can be. Should we fill in behind them?
How did this guy ever make it as Lieutenant? I could beat him in a hand fight, snap him like a twig. If I do that maybe they would let me out of this hell hole. she thought to herself.

Kavrus entered the barracks just as Daya was finishing her report and saluted the Lieutenant.
((I work tomorrow but can't guarantee net access then or on the following days so if I can't get on when something needs to be done, have Kavrus follow orders. He wouldn't do anything stupid like try to fly over a thousand troops who likely have hundreds of projectiles or spells and his magic is designed more for signaling and distraction than damage. I will try to get on, but I can't guarantee when.))

Seeing that most, if not all of the soldiers were already awake, Nolan decides to head back towards his bunker, eyes open for anything, be it good or ill.

The officer seems to have gathered a few other decorated men. He glances back at Daya and the others gathering behind him. "No, I'd like you and the others to stick with me. You're now a troop. Discuss amongst yourselves, and choose who will be the best sergent and corperal. I'll have orders for you soon.
((I really do want you guys to decide who would make for a good Sergent and Corperal. For those who don't know, a sergent is below a leiutenant, and not an officer, and is the soldier that is in charge of keeping the troop on their toes. The corperal is sort of like the sergent's assistant, the postition of corperal can change by need, like say the orrigional corperal went missing or is found to be inadiquite for the job, a new corperal is chosen by the sergent.))

Nolan began to think who would be most suitable to lead this party... ((Thought->))Surely not myself, I can not lead anyone. Perhaps the grim one would make a better commander... But I feel as if he would sacrifice us if it became possible... The halfling should most likely not lead, but advise. Halflings usually do have a good head on their shoulders, as least the halflings I've met... I fear that we will have to rely on the grim one... ((Hey, I might not be on till late tomorrow [Five or six o'clock], so that's where I'll come in.))

Daya begins to head back to the barracks, so that she can listen to the big people argue who is more qualified to be leader. While the idea of her telling the bigs what to do was enough to make her laugh out loud she knew better. She wanted out of this war and even if she was to be stuck with them she didn't want to be responsible with their lives. She didn't work well with others, she was about her. Group dynamics and tactics escaped her.
However she hardly trusted her life to all of them. If she didn't get a position of at least some authority she would be the one doing all the grunt work or worse...the woman's work. So knew who she would nominate if asked, not that any of them really even know she is there. Entering the barracks with a scowl upon her face, she sits and waits for the last of them to return and the bickering to begin.

Kavrus immediately turned to face Jance. A monk is accustomed to discipline and control, he figured, and understands the value of a whole unit. "I nominate him." he said as he pointed at Jance. "He appears to be pretty together mentally."

Being pointed out, Jance spoke; "If appointed to a position, I will fulfill it. Whether or not I am appointed to any position or not and on the subject of who should be appointed, I have no opinion about. Whoever is appointed, however, must keep order. As long as that condition is met, I will follow whomever is elected faithfully and without bias."

"Do you believe anyone else to be better suited for the task?" Kavrus asked him. "I'll offer my opinion if asked for it but I've never been so good at making decisions on the fly. I was trained to think things over rather than make an uninformed decision. Still. Whoever is to be our leader might find my magic helpful in our plans." Having spoken his piece he retreated back a little from the cluster of more 'normal' soldiers.

Though I feel that this party would be better suited by the maintaining of order, if the leader had no concerns for his fellows in the name of that order, then we would be in fact worse off than if we had no order at all. That said, I would cast my decision to you, Monk, to be the overall leader. To balance that, we would need someone who could adapt to any situation. For that, I nominate the Halfling. Having said his piece, Nolan waited to hear the outcome of the discussion.

Amari stood back from the others as they talked about who should take charge.
Im really not qualified to lead... Im not sure I could do it. Maybe... no.
"I agree with what has been said. Let the monk take lead."
