Mostly it's aesthetics, and I haven't spent any of my remaining cash on the aquarium items.

Your health does increase.
But, since ou can only put 8 fish in your tank, you can wait for daily chance to give you the things you need to raise the health. (that's what I'm doingX14 anyways)
it's not a bad way to raise the health.

Health increase one day at a time. just feed the fishies. and you can get stuff from the DC.

Right.
Putting more items in the tank raises the health.
But what really raises the health is showing up every day and feeding your fish.
