"I am aware." she told him. "But the government doesn't block the videos of people doing stupid things... like riding down a hill on a bike and running into a sign. It's mostly mindless slapstick?"

Damien shrugged. "I guess. As long as it's foreigners doing stupid things. It's not the proper thing for a Diethelmian to do. Our race is above that" he said.

"Oh my, that's quite a temperament you have." She snickered. "So since I'm Diethelmian, is it beneath me to jump out that window to escape your cunning grasp time and time again?"

"Well, if you did that, you would have a reason. It would be to get away from me. However, if you jumped out of the window just because you wanted to, then you deserve getting hurt. However, if someone recorded that and put it online, you'd become an emberassment for your nation" Damien said.

"True, but they're still fun to laugh at with a little alcohol in your belly." She replied. "I can also never get over just how nationalistic you are." She told him, knowing it was all caused by his large ego. "Anyway, that reminds me, how are the twins?" She asked.

"Oh, they're good. They're creating their own little inventions and helping out wherever they can" Damien replied, "and of course I'm nationalistic. It comes with being part of the world's most superior race. Of course, I take it that you're not part of our 'pure' ethnic group, so that's probably why you don't understand".

"Pure ethnic group?" She asked. "Ok, you mean I haven't been properly brainwashed by the system. I that case yes. Wait... Don't tell me you're planning on evoking some sort of cast system, are you? Isn't Jian from Bunga? Too bad your own best friend wouldn't fit into your 'pure' category either." She replied. "So I guess all your cool people are 'unpure' bloods."

"Well, unfortunately the Chief General is not pure Diethelmian and he's the only one in our top branch that's not. Unfortunately that leads to murmurs from some of the other officials. No, there's no caste system, but ethnic Diethelmians are encouraged not to mingle with non-ethnic Diethelmians. We want to keep this country and its population as strong as it can be" Damien said.

"Well, there goes genetic variation." She replied. "You were totally going to do a caste system if Jian was a 'pure' blood. Well, since I'm not 'pure' even though I'm 'pure' Diethelmian, I'll count my blessings while I still have them."

"Oh, you are pure Diethelmian. Well, then it must have been working for Helmshire that confused you, or maybe the rebels. I wouldn't be surprised if they used dirty little tricks to keep you from realizing the truth. Perhaps they were worried that you would realize that you were working for inferior people." Damien said, before eating more of his lunch.

"It was neither." She replied. "It was poverty. I don't remember much of my parents except that I watched them die as innocent casualties of war. My older sister had to sell herself to the same soldiers who killed our parents so that we could eat. It took years for me to fully understood her false face of cheer when she came back bruised and tired, holding wads of small change. Then, out of nowhere, everyone in the whole town started falling down dead with some strange sickness. My sister got it too, but I... I... I couldn't do anything to help her. As she died, she kept smiling and telling me to be strong. The next thing I remember, the whole town was burning before I could dig my sister's grave, and I ran away with all the money we were saving. There were some men in full body suits to protect against the sickness that tried to grab me, but I managed to slip by them and keep running. It turns out they were testing a biological weapon nearby, and a deadly one that has no known cure spread to us. Somehow I had an immunity. Talk about luck, right? For some reason, luck seems to be my only good quality. Too bad it's not something I can share with my friends."
