Granted, but, due to the fact that you had to go back in time and fix some stuff, it then caused this to never happen, thereby, creating a temporal paradox that destabilized the universe and ultimately destroyed it.

Granted, instead you slowly start to lose control over the temporal fluxes and instead of going back to a time that you want, you eventually end up back in the time of dinosaurs and get eaten by something large and scaly. Let me tell you, Jurassic Park had nothing on this.
