Romulus smiled shakily. He hugged heather, trusting her to help Remy. "Thank you. Please, I love my Remy!" he pleaded. He held on to the older girl, crying a bit. He knew their house was safer than his own. His father would beat her, just like he was beaten.

Dhylan kept his arm around Heather, feeling the absolute need to. For some odd and unknown reason, he felt like he needed to protect his friend, even if she was a year older than him and capable of handling herself. But when he saw how sad she looked... He didn't know. He just didn't know. Now not only himself, but Terren and Romulus were hugging her as well. Something stirred inside Dhylan. A feeling he hadn't felt in... well, he couldn't remember this feeling, so... ever. Why do they have to hug her too? he thought. Heather spoke to him once again and he came out of his trance of inner thought. "Oh. Yeah. Sure. Anytime, Heather. It's what friends are for, right?" he replied. What was this feeling inside him? Jealousy? Nah. Couldn't be. What did he have to be jealous about?
Minn, who had basically been standing by on the sidelines, ran in to join the hug fest. She found the smallest bit of room and hugged Heather too. Why not, right?

Heather found herself in the middle of a giant hug fest. Terren, Dhylan, Minn, and Romulus were squeezing her middle and shoulders. "Okay! Okay! Please get off of me now! I'm okay! Really! Personal space, please!" she said to them, squinting up her face like she usually does. ( whee ) She squirmed and wiggled, trying to get out of the death grip of her friends and brother. Terren gave his sister one final squeeze before releasing her. He stood back a little, waiting for the others to let go of his beloved sister.

Mel stepped out of the exit of the Leaky Cauldron onto Diagon Alley and huffed. She waved goodbye to her mother, who was still standing in the courtyard and stepped into the movement of the crowd. She was glad that her father was away on business, because her mother let her do things like this. Father wouldn't approve. Melinda hoped she would bump into one of her cousins while she was here, but the chances were slim.

Alaric had gotten to Diagon Alley early. Eve was still back at home getting ready, and he didn't really know when Aunt Lily or Uncle Raph were getting here. By instinct, he felt the need to get out of the middle of the narrow street. He quickly ducked under an awning and stared amusedly at the the people going by. He needed books and things so he started looking at the shop signs. He decided to go to Madam Malkins first.

Romulus stepped away a bit, giving heather an eager grin. On his teeth, much like Remy, braces shimmered. His were pale green and white, and they made his cheeks seem pinker in comparason. His blue eyes sparkled with enthusiasm, and he smiled dorkily.

Dhyl smiled at Heather's request. He watched as Terren, then Romy, then Minn stepped back. Dhyl gave one final squeeze, then awkwardly side-stepped away. He kept his arm draped loosely over her shoulders, and grinned. This feeling.... what could it be? He smiled at Heather, his straight, white teeth exposed for a second. He pushed his fringes from his eyes, showing his girlishly long eyelashes. A faint, barely noticeable tinge struck his cheeks.

Heather was released, and she took a deep breath. It was so much easier to breathe now. Dhylan, however, did not completely let her go. Hmmm. Odd. But they were friends, right? Heather smiled at him and laughed at his eyelashes. "Wow, Dhyl. Just, wow... So, how about we find your sister, huh Rom?" she said, first to Dhyl, then to Romy. Terren finally got used to Dhylan being around Heather all the time, and thought nothing of him practically holding her. After all, he was her friend. He would trust him.

Romulus gave a huge smile. His eyes seemed to glow with excitement. "Oh yes please! Please!!! I'm so excited!" he squealed. He did an awkward hand clap, his body twitching with excitement. He smiled bigger, and hopped up and down. He, like Remy, was extremely hyperactive.

Dhyl rolled his eyes at Heather, then again at Romulus. The boy was hopping like a crazed bunny. Dhyl gently rubbed Heather's shoulders, and smiled at her. Her bright teal eyes seemed to stare into him, and he stared into hers. She looked very innocent in a way.

Heather nearly melted at Dhylan's touch to her tense shoulders. Nearly, but not quite. She snapped out of her trance and turned to face her fellow Hufflepuff. She just looked at him. She had no words. He was definitely confusing her. This wasn't how friends acted, right? She turned back to Romy and smiled at his excited behavior. Yep, he was Remy's brother, no doubt. "Well, the shop is on the other side of the Alley. Remy's working now, but her shift should be over soon. If you wanted to go get your supplies, we could do that, then go meet up with Rem." she suggested. Terren nodded, agreeing with his sister's idea. He saw Dhylan rub her shoulders and narrowed his eyes into slits. He rushed the Heather's other side and held her hand, watching Dhyl for any more odd actions.

The route was bust, flooded with droves of parents with their children doing shopping; people going about their daily life on the Alley and young individuals enjoying the summer day. Mel stretched. She looked for any reason to leave. Her mother was a kind sort, but her father's rules for both of them were pretty intense. She looked up and down the alley. How dreary, she thought. There didn't seem to be anyone interesting. Looking down, she remembered the list she was carrying. "I guess I'll go shopping," she muttered to herself.
