Once he was sure Roxanne's attention was far and away from them, Raphael took Justine's hand and pulled her out the door and not stopping until they got some distance from the inn. "Hopefully she hasn't the faintest idea how to track a vampire..." he said with a sigh as he released her hand. While the escape from Roxanne made for a nice distraction from his mood, the cold rain pouring down on him brought his glum mood back in full. "We should get moving. The weather doesn't look like it's going to let up any time soon, but we need to get us much distance between as and her as soon as we can. Once we're out of town, we can worry about finding shelter on the road." he said as pulled the hood of his cloak up.

"Don't even try it; she'd kill you." Raphael muttered as he started walking. "It's not here, and it's not where we've been, so that town sounds like our best bet. If we find any shelter along the way we can wait the storm out there."

{I'm hard-pressed to find a shoujo romance manga that doesn't have some vapid, brainless whore of a protagonist who only bitches and whines. I'm hard-pressed to find a shoujo romance manga in which the successful suitor isn't some rapist jerk-a** that mentally and physically abuses the dumb broad into doing everything he wants, expecting 100% fidelity on her part while he may or may not be screwing other vapid sluts on the side. (Normally, infidelity isn't my cup of tea anyway - but seeing the same thing over and over again, especially when the women are portrayed in such a clearly sexist manner, does nothing but piss me off.) GRR. Rant done. Sorry 'bout that. sweatdrop }
"Is there anything I'm even remotely useful for at this point?" Justine asked with a small frown, a little uncomfortable with the thought of not being able to contribute anything of worth to their group.

((Hmm....While the romance isn't the focus at all, I might recommend searching for AnoHana. The full name escapes me because it's uber long, but that's what everyone calls it. Anyway, it really is a cute little series that I highly recommend watching; I think it's only like 13 episodes.))

Somehow, that didn't really help Justine's view on the situation any. She still felt like a petty free-loader. Still, it was the thought of his words that counted. "Thanks..."

((Any time, I like getting people to watch series that I really liked, and AnoHana fits in that category. Oh, and I also recommend keeping tissues on hand towards the end...Just sayin'....>>;; ))

"One gift of vampirism is the ability to put people under a trance. This makes it easier for us to get away with feeding, of course. What most don't realize, however, is that we can also change the subject's memories in the process, if we so wish."
