They were absolutely in their element up here, and relishing every second of it. In between gouts of flame, Firith roared, reveling in the fight.

Roll: 2 - A clump of Thread falls right before you! Unfortunately, the wind pushes you and the Thread away from one another. With determination, you fight the wind, trying valiantly to get to the great enemy! You hop Between, hoping to get closer, and flame the Threads that threaten to fall through! Roll a D4 to see if you successfully Between!

AUTO FAIL! Failure! You Between right INTO the clump! Too close, too close!! Ouch! Damage is Moderate! -5 HP

The pain threw off their rhythm, and when the wind intervened to make the next clump even harder to reach, they overcompensated. Betweening towards it, they reappeared... right inside the writhing mass. They winked out again a beat later, but the damage was done, and when they reappeared (again) to scorch the clump, they looked an awful mess.

More thread--heading directly towards them. Cyndreth tried his best to twist away, but instead, he took a direct hit to his chest and neck. With a pop between, they emerged without major injury, but the damage was still remarkable. Cyndreth would push through, but they might very well need healing soon.

Things were a mess up here with this much thread and wind, but being small had its advantages, and Firith kept herself and Hers safe with ease. She even had an eye out for their wingmates, and didn't hesitate to sweep in and save one from trouble...even if he was a bronze. Ansheth! I've got you!

Unfortunately, the nearby Threadfall gets blown into your side and haunches -- and you were too big to move out of the way. Ouch! [Moderate Damage -8] HP

It was absolutely miserable up in the high altitude. No wonder the casualties were so high... The winds were the worst of it though, it seemed, and a moment later they were proven right. A gust drove them forward this time, not back, and slammed the bronze headlong into a full sheet of the silver menace. It draped over his wing and side as he tried to turn away, strands coiling up A'iel's shoulder before they could fling themselves between in silent, stunned agony. A long moment passed before they reappeared... limping towards the weyrbowl on freshly tattered wings.

More firestone, came Cyndreth's voice, and K'srin was happy to oblige. Distracted by his pain, he managed to bite his tongue, and hard. Ugh, now that was distracting him further. High altitude...dangerous, maybe, but it seemed a dragon's tongue was as well.

They were doing exceptionally well - of course! - and thus far hadn't been so much as grazed by Thread. They flamed down every piece within reach, right up until the wind blew a cloud of ash back at them. Sharding wind! Firith snarled offense at the elements.

The wind whistled, trying to knock Cyndreth from his careful position. Although he easily avoided the wind, the gust pushed some thread into his side, his haunches. He could do little to avoid it, due to his side, as he popped between. This time, they arrived at the weyrbowl. Cyndreth, sore and aching, would need some healing before he returned...that much was certain.

If a green or blue you find yourself struggling against the wind. The wind is powerful this high up, and you have to struggle to keep in your airspace. Unfortunately, a strong gust blows through, and you find yourself blown right into a clump of Thread! Moderate Damage -4 HP

Pipith was feeling quite pleased with himself for returning to the fight so quickly - See, Mine? I told you I was fine! - gone only long enough for a slathering of redwort and a bit of stitching, but perhaps not focused enough on the basics, like chewing firestone. He promptly bit his tongue, and seethed with irritation about it.

It might have landed better if his flame had reached its intended target. Pency swallowed and shoved more firestone into the blue’s mouth.

Eyeing more incoming Threadstrands, Pency sat low in his seat and communed with Reka. The blue thought he was being overly paranoid, but that wasn’t the worst thing to be up in the air.
