Vosin of Gold Killakeeth
Predictably, Killakeeth was pleased to see a bronze hatch first. She did like the boys. In fact the boys were on the ball this hatching, brown, brown, blue and bronze. All lively happy boys and Vosin approved. Khamaith must be proud! The first bronze turned his back on the crowd and made Vos laugh. "His rider is just going to have to wait."
She looked scornfully at the people who made it a point to leave. Shafting idiots the lot. The weyr didn't need people like that around. Killakeeth rumbled an agreement. Vosin was pleased to see some greens had made their appearance. Ah a gold, Khamaith will be pleased. Vosin nodded, curious to who the gold would impress to. Western or High Reaches candidate? And it looked like a Western candidate!
N'den of Brown Belengath The excitement of a hatching and the pressure to see one of his children impress had the brownrider on the edge of his seat. The hatchlings were strong and healthy. He winced as one of the blues tripped and caught a candidate with a wingclaw, but was thankful that it wasn't one of his children though he felt bad for the unlucky candidate.
The dragons started picking their riders from among those standing. Bronze, green, and gold quickly found theirs and moved off. Then fighting picked back up, close enough to his clutch that the pair were worried. Several candidates standing near them seemed to wind up with injuries. N'den was worried when he spotted Bionden heading towards the healers with another candidate. Don't worry mine, she is unharmed. The brown checked to reassure his rider, who heaved a sigh. Just like his daughter to help another.
Rinis of Green Galensith
Everything was happening so fast. Young dragons hatching, impressing, and moving off to be fed. The pair winced as several candidates were injured. Then another fight among the hatchlings which resulted in serious injury to some. I had hoped.... I know mine. Its just the way it is.
Galensith hummed encouragement towards Spotted Green. It would be alright!
(All my riders are open for interactions!)

Oreune
Thinking wasn't happening, neither was speaking. Slipping in and out of thought, Oreune wondered if this was all there was to it. Bleeding out on the sands, giving nightmares to some poor sod who was just doing his best to help her. Someone who probably did care about her as a person, and not just as a statistic. She wanted to tell him thank you, to appreciate things, but even opening her eyes felt like too much.
The pain was long gone, and she was growing cold and sleepy. Her stomach felt full, and her head foggy. Maybe she'd just....take a nap...before the feast after all. Just a short.....nap...

Maishel
To call Maishel scandalized by what all she was seeing would be mild, to say the least. A young woman had been gored and while that happened, everything around her carried on like it was common place. Perhaps it was for those who lived in the Weyr, who understand life as dragonriders, but for a crafter and Holder like Maishel, it was outrageous. Why had they not called a stop to it? Why did all those fantasy stories she'd heard of children being mauled have to be true, and why did she have to be there to witness it? Couldn't they have some decency to not maim and murder? Age was no excuse, she told herself, and the young woman shook her head in disapproval.
Thankfully there was no one around her to hear her thoughts, as she would have been glad to share, so they remained mostly in her mind and not on her tongue. Her face was an open book however and her look of unhappiness colored her features the same way a dragon's hide colored its future. Perhaps when she returned to the Hold proper she'd correct the silly notions that floated about the heads of some of the workers there, young children and teens who seemed to think that Weyrlife, Dragonriding, was this glamorous spectacle. But maybe the biggest problem in all of this was how she was disappointed by the way nothing was going according the the scenario she'd had in mind.
Nothing too serious, but she would sulk over it a bit later.

Haveli
Another green gone, several dragonets still in their shells, and Haveli was starting to feel that doubt creep in. It was quickly squashed, however, as she reminded herself that there were many paths to a single goal, this just happened to be one of them. No point in sulking, instead just happy and wonderful thoughts.
She didn't dare try to show pity or concern for the dragonets, they were strong and proud creatures who were more than capable of caring for themselves at this point in time, so instead she pushed out the idea of welcoming. Of come closer, take a look, and let me look as well.

Aerden
"Hope so." Aerden agreed... just in time for chaos to erupt. He could only watch as several Candidates were bowled over--and from the looks of it, one girl was seriously hurt. His fists were clenched, and he took a few steps forward before he came to an uneasy halt. He couldn't do anything but get in the way. The girl was in the more than capable hands of the Healers now, but...
He hated feeling so useless. Knowing he could only watch--it grated at him horribly. With a rough exhalation, he glanced at Orry and backed up again, his expression grim. "She'll be okay." He said quietly, almost as though trying to convince himself of it.

Oranie
Juhvek had stepped in front of them before Oranie could really piece together what had happened, more than a little enamored by the sight of the Queen finally finding her rider. Almost owlishly, she scanned the sands, and very nearly flinched at the sight of the blood and ichor. She didn't hesitate to wrap an arm around Elibrie, never mind her own pale face. That girl was hurt, badly hurt.... was she...?
"The Healers have her," She murmured, squeezing Elibrie's shoulders and forcing herself to not think of the worst. "And the brown... I think he's found His."
--
Ollanmar
His cheerful mood became something more somber instantly as the small fight broke out, his shoulders tense underneath his brother's hand. He chewed his lip, wanting to do something, but knowing that to get in the way would be risking both dragons and people.... Luckily, it broke up soon enough, and the one girl that had been seriously hurt was taken to the Healers--with the brown trailing behind?
He forced himself to grin, though it was a bit dimmed compared to earlier. "Blue's a great color."

R'thell & green Triesteth
A dragonhealer had immediately come to Triesteth, a little ways from the feeding tables. Though she hadn't wanted to be removed from Hers--and R'thell hadn't wanted to let her go for a moment--she allowed the dragonhealer to poke, prod, and otherwise look her over. A second healer was called over, and R'thell found himself trying not to fret.
Surely, she'd be just fine, wouldn't she? He felt an odd mix of elation, exultation, anxiousness, hunger, fear, and pain. The concoction of feeling were his own, along with Triesteth's, but unravelling where one began and the other ended was impossible.
I'm sorry! She apologized both to R'thell and the healers, giving a plaintive creel. She really hadn't meant to cause such trouble, and had only wanted to help give her metallic brother the attention he'd craved. She never meant to cause such a fuss or bump into her clutchmates so...
R'thell, of course, immediately sent her nothing but support and assurance. You did nothing wrong, sweetheart. Nothing wrong at all. You're not the only dragon to have fouled up her wing right out of the shell! And that was the truth. He'd been at enough hatchings to watch young hatchlings tumble in the hot sands, walk on their wings, and otherwise get all sorts of tangled. One of her own clutchmates--the one who he noticed had finally found Hers--had tangled herself up in a few of them! And hadn't a blue from earlier done the same? Surely though... Surely this would be fine in a few days?
What was taking so long?
Still, he knew they were likely just being thorough. Wingsails always grew back, didn't they? Thread chewed through quite a few, though the fact the little wing had been lying limp worried him. That seemed to suggest more than just a wingsail issue. Thankfully, R'thell couldn't focus entirely on his woes, because he felt Triesteth's sudden spike of surprise, followed by a rash of embarrassment.
The little green gave a bashful dip of her head, before craning her neck so she might gaze longingly at the others beginning to gather around the feeding tables. To Ilaorunth, the little green replied swiftly, sending her nothing but assurance and love. Oh, sistermine, you have nothing to apologize for! I didn't mean to cause such a problem--to myself or anyone else. It's my fault entirely, surely. The green immediately agreed, having little problem taking the blame off her illustrious sister. She had been the one to approach Manahahtath unsolicited, after all. Surely, it was her own trouble and her due for trying. Her sister was absolutely blameless.
"Hey now--" R'thell began to object, but he felt his little green send another wave of warmth and fondness to Alenciath. Oh! Oh they are being far too good, far too kind. My wing already feels quite back to normal! Which... wasn't entirely true--she just simply couldn't feel her wing much at all now that she'd been doused with numbweed and redwort. In fact, her little wing was in the process of being bandaged against her, and held securely in place. I shall be there in no time at all, and it will be most lovely to meet all of Yours. Oh, she was so happy for them--her most perfect of family. And soon, very soon, there would be others to join them.
A small while later, R'thell was given instruction to return her to the dragonhealers in the morning, before lessons--or immediately if she seemed to be in pain. For now, it would be a game of wait-and-see on how it healed.
R'thell wanted to know what wait-and-see actually meant, but the hunger of the little green was immense. Her own eyes were red--not in wrath--but because she felt like she was starving. "Ready?" He asked, once the healers had released her. He didn't dare pick her up again--but she waddled happily next to him.
H-hello! She spoke gently in greeting to those present, oblivious to the carnage that had happened. There was Manahahtath and Kahveth and Ilaorunth and Alenciath--one, two, three, four---she counted (and quietly introduced) to R'thell. Yours are all such perfect! She half-sighed with pleasure, pleased as punch for each of them. Just as perfect as her R'thell was for her.
And here was food! Oh, Hers was just so considerate. As soon as R'tehll had a bucket of meat offered, the green immediately began to eat. She was hungry! "Congratulations," he smiled warmly at the few Cand--o, they were all weyrlings now, like him.

Juhvek
"Exactly. The Weyrs have fine healers," for just this reason, he kept to himself, "she'll be fine," Juhvek assured, still standing defensively as the baby dragons continued their ventures across the sands. Some were investigating candidates, others each other. It was a touch more peaceful, at least.
At least, until an egg that both girls had seemed rather fond of gave a sudden start - and a loud crack!
"There they come," Juhvek said, not particularly imagining the egg for himself, but....maybe one of the two sisters?
