Because of some technical difficulties........*glares at her scanner* We may be having comic problems this week. I'm switching houses on Wednesday, to one with FUNCTIONAL *hits her scanner* equipment...
In case anybody could help me out, here's a bit of info on what's going on with my scanner:
I have an hp scanjet 2400, it's flippin' ancient, to my knowledge, and it jams up mid-scan, creating a high-pitched whine that will go on till I unplug it. I have no idea what to do with it...In the past, I was able to coax it into scanning by hoisting it into the air while it did so, but that doesn't seem to work anymore....Any advice?.........Besides buying a new one? sweatdrop

Well....i don't have very much tech knowledge, so i'd advise taking it in to a computer repair shop and have them take a look at it. its possible something came loose, or the motor for the actual scan part is broken.
