Jakob would be lying if he said that he wasn't a little preoccupied. It had been quite the day and he had a lot on his mind. He didn't want to bother Abel, but he knew that was too late as he'd already bothered him by even bringing him here. As the male went to the bathroom, their drinks soon arrived and Jakob was left to his busy thoughts. He sipped his drink and stared blankly. A couple of minutes passed before Abel emerged from the bathroom. Jakob straightened slightly as the man slipped back into his seat and pulled his drink closer. He observed him quietly for a moment. "Everything okay?" he asked.

Returning back to the table, Abel pulled his drink toward him. He was thirsty after all he hadn't finished his coffee. However he was merely trying to distract himself. Abel watched as Miguel pulled himself from his thoughts. He watched Miguel as he soon questioned him. Abel nodded, "Yeah, just had to use the restroom." He replied plainly as he lied not wanting to worry Miguel. Abel didn't want to ruin whatever this was at the moment. He had just needed to clear his head.

Watching the male, he felt as though something was off about him. He wondered if he had said or done something wrong. Perhaps he had annoyed him with his endless questions. Or maybe he was just annoyed with the whole Kieran thing. Jakob sat there watching him a moment before asking him if he was okay. Abel nodded and gave him a plain answer. He was lying. Why? he wondered. Jakob wanted to inquire further but feared by doing so that he would only anger Abel. He didn't want to do that. Jakob merely nodded and took another sip of his drink.

Abel wasn't exactly upset with Miguel though he knew he had something on his mind and likely wouldn't tell him if he asked. Though if he did give him an honest answer, he wasn't going to like it. He couldn't help but lie as he didn't want to worry Miguel. Abel watched as Miguel nodded and remained silent. He could see he had hurt Miguel which hadn't been his intention.

It was true he had a lot on his mind. It had been a long day and a lot had happened. It wasn't his intention to block Abel out, though that seemed to be exactly what he was doing. He didn't mean to hurt him. He wanted them to have a good time tonight, to go back and have fun like on their way over. Hearing the lie, he was a bit disappointed and tried to let it not show on his face. Jakob wondered what was really going on in Abel's head and why he would lie about it. Asking him further wouldn't do him any good either as he knew he wouldn't tell him. Nodding in response, Jakob took another sip from his soda. He didn't know what to say now. He didn't want them to just sit there in silence, but his mind was blank.

Sitting there in silence, Abel wasn't the best at small talk. He didn't exactly know what to talk about. Abel though didn't want to worry Miguel especially having lied to him. He relaxed in his seat as he watched Miguel. "So besides Mr. Boring, has anyone else caught your eye?" Abel teased, trying to make conversation. He wasn't sure if that was the best question to ask but he was curious nonetheless.

Sitting across from Abel, Jakob did his best to rack his brain for something. He knew that Abel wasn't one for small talk and neither was he. He didn't want to waste either of their time by asking about things neither of them would care about. But at the same time he didn't want to just sit here sipping on his soda all night either. Another minute or so passed before Abel said something. He smiled as the man teased him about his dating life. He too wasn't sure if this was something Abel really wanted to hear about, but since he was asking perhaps it was okay. "Eh, not really." he replied honestly. "There have been dates, but nothing longer than a couple of weeks." Jakob had tried to move on from his past with Abel and Kieran. But he often found himself hitting walls in terms of being honest. It wasn't as though he could just tell them why he was in America and what he did for a living. Any sane person would either run for the hills or report him to the police right away.

While it wasn't exactly the best conversation topic, Abel couldn't help himself. He knew it was depressing to be pining over something he couldn't have. Abel wasn't exactly wanting a relationship though he couldn't help but want physical attention. He questioned Miguel, listening as he spoke. Abel could understand honesty, after all it wasn't like he could date with his own inability to be truthful. "Ah, fair enough." He replied plainly having lost thought on the conversation topic. Abel hadn't been entirely hopeful that Miguel had found a sudden interest which was probably selfish of him.

Jakob saw no harm in talking about his relationship status. He assumed that Abel had his reasons, though what those reasons were he couldn't say for sure. As the male questioned him, he answered honestly. Currently, Jakob was not seeing anyone. He'd been rather busy with work and after the last guy, he wasn't in much of a rush to find someone new. He saw no reason. After giving his answer, Abel spoke to him plainly. His words only made him more curious. "Really?" he asked. "So why the sudden interest?" Jakob wondered if his prying would get him anywhere. He hoped it would. But knowing Abel, it didn't seem very likely. The man had was being very peculiar this evening. On the one hand he seemed to want to play catch up and hear all about what he missed. But then on the other, silence. It didn't feel like when Jakob knew he was getting on Abel's nerves. So at least it wasn't that kind of silence. But there was definitely something Abel wasn't telling him. He only wished he knew what it was.

Abel was hardly annoyed with Miguel. He couldn't help but be nosy. Abel knew Miguel didn't have to tell him anything. After all, he had no right to such information. He wasn't surprised by Miguel's question after all it was only fair. "Just curious." Abel responded as he had his reasons. He didn't feel like explaining himself. After all it would do him no good.

Jakob didn’t know what Abel was thinking with his line of questioning. He never seemed to care about his love life before. Not when he was dating Kieran nor during the mont they lived together. It struck him as odd to be asking him now when they were so far apart. The answer given to his own question wasn’t surprising. He had to restrain himself from rolling his eyes at him. ”Right.” He replied, unconvinced. Jakob pulled his drink close and took another sip. ”So I know you aren’t seeing anyone, but what about Kieran?” he continued. ”Did he ever move on?”

Indeed Abel never cared before. After all, if he had they probably wouldn't be sitting here. He had intruded on Kirean and Miguel's relationship on purpose to see if he could. Abel had the intention of sabotage although it had only backfired. He had learned to care for and about Miguel even now. Abel listened as Miguel spoke, he wasn't exactly in the mood to be truthful. He watched Miguel as he pulled his drink closer and questioned him. Abel was curious if Miguel still had feelings for Kirean even now. He didn't want to hurt his feelings by mocking him. "Move on yes, date no." Abel responded not lying about Kirean's current use of his time which was sleeping around.

Even back then he couldn't understand why Abel wanted to but into his and Kieran's relationship. Back then he assumed Abel did it to simply prove that he could. Not only that to prove to Kieran that he was just another slut. If that was the case, he certainly didn't help himself in disproving that assumption. He knew he didn't put any worries Kieran had at ease. After being given such a lackluster answer, Jakob decided to question him about his ex.

His feelings for Kieran were complicated. He never got any real closure to their relationship, but the break-up part was obvious. He had been dumped and left without a word. For the longest time he absolutely hated Kieran for breaking up with him in that way. If he wanted to break up with him he should have just said so. Seeing him today brought back a lot of emotions, but it also made him glad that he moved away from him. The Kieran he met today was not the same person he dated two years ago. Hearing Abel speak, he was brought back to the conversation. He was and was not surprised that Kieran had not dated anyone since their break-up. From what he remembered, Kieran dated about as much as Abel did. "Figures." he said, frowning down into his soda.

It wasn't his intention to ruin the mood. He however probably had just by his own curiosity. Abel knew that Miguel's love life was none of his business. He should have kept quiet. Abel hadn't been surprised when Miguel questioned him about Kirean. After all, it was only fair. He wasn't going to lie to Miguel about Kirean. Abel watched as Miguel seemed depressed by his words. He shifted his foot beneath the table and tapped Miguel's foot. "Sorry, I didn't mean to upset you." Abel commented apologizing to Miguel.

He didn't blame Abel for his sudden mood shift. It was his own fault for asking. He knew that asking about Kieran was a touchy subject. Still, he couldn't help being curious about him. He had hoped that Kieran had gone on to do something better for himself. But seeing him this afternoon, it felt as though he'd done anything but that. His last words before leaving with him this afternoon still stuck with him. Staring down at his drink, he didn't know what to think. If what Abel said was true and Kieran really had moved on, why did he look so hurt? He must have started to really space out because he soon felt a tap to his foot. Jakob looked up and softened at the males' apology. "It's fine...I shouldn't have asked about him." he replied. Jakob smiled towards the male as if to reassure him, but he wasn't entirely sure that it was all that convincing.
