This wind can honestly shove it. The grumbling from the blue is mild, but if he was grumbling at all then he must be getting tired. His shoulder twinges with every beat of his wings, struggling to stay level as the currents threaten to beat him around.

Another sliver of thread caught the pairs attention and Ephia instructed Ariath to it. Again though the wind decided to play games with the pair and as the thread was seared to ash, the particles were thrown back at the pair.

Cordrath was feeling fairly well off, considering some dragons had been sent back to the Weyr to soak wounds and salve burns and all other manners of catastrophe. He was keeping a dutiful eye on his wingmates, and fortunately not enough eye on himself, as it took only a moment for a sear of pain to suddenly slice into one of his wings, causing him to huff in annoyance and pop between for safety.
Once out, he was out with a vengeance, all flame.
M'nr glanced out over the dragon's wing. A small wound. It will add to your cred with the rest of the Weyr, hmm? he offered optimistically. Cordrath quietly agreed.

Shyn'ar swung the fire stone sack close, opening it to feed Gwyllinth more stone to feed his flames. Gwyllinth gobbled the firestone, chewing the ore and swallowing to feed his flames and bit the edge of his tongue.
Gwyllinth grumbled and finished swallowing the last of the stone. That had hurt and now he was half distracted with the swollen and pulsing feel of his tongue instead of focusing on the thread.

Someone needs stone, myIchta! Aurinkoth informed his rider, and this time the young woman was determined to not drop it this time! Okay, I'm ready! she informed her blue as the two pulled up from their formation to fly along side the bronzerider.
Delive-!! the dragon cut off his chipper greeting to Razasith as the strong winds suddenly caught the smaller blue and sent him sailing - right into a clump of thread. With a distressed cheep, the two temporarily flickered between and out again before coming back along side the bronze, small flickers of white in the dragon's green eyes.
Ichta pat her dearest on the shoulder, before tossing the back of stone to the bronzerider for their second attempt. Then, they both began to sink back down towards their clutchmates.

She flicked a glance at Elzebuth next, seeing how he fared. Not gonna pop off between on me again, right? V’tre’s attention followed the green’s, and he managed a wave to his fellow weyrling. Gosh, G’ran still looked just so cool. He totally looked way more like a rider than V’tre did! He was still so tall, and the way his riding jacket hung from his broad shoulders, the tight fit of the older guy’s wherhide pants showing off his muscles even through the riding straps...

After that little Thread came a larger clump but this one didn't require blinking Between to attack. Thella guided Lireloth to the side just a bit before he let loose another jet of flame, searing the Thread from the sky.
"Great job," Thella said, giving his sides a squeeze with her legs to get him to rise just a bit higher to avoid the ash.

The brown turned and followed the small clump, focused and breathed out, burning the clump to ash. He said, forgetting the past pain in victory of burning the invader.

Filled with renewed purpose and a throat full of firestone, Suuth sped forward, catching sight of another rider in the Hurricane wing in danger of being struck by thread. There was no shouting out help in the sky, so the dragon just reacted instead, blasting flame at the threatening strands just in time to save the other wingrider from a nasty scoring.
This is such a mess! Thread is everywhere. The High Altitude Wing is always in the thick of it, and today is no exception.
If you are a green, or blue smaller than 30' you're easily able twist and wheel out of the way of the thick clumps. Instead, you're able to flame down a patch of Thread threatening your wingmates, and what a burst of flame it is! Quote a Wingmate who took Thread Damage and nullify it for this Round! +2 Flame Length

More Thread fell from the upper Wings, this one just another little piece, and together the dragon and rider focused on it. Thella was only given notice to the sudden barrel roll thanks to their connection and she was able to hold on tight as Lireloth rolled with the wind shift which tossed the Thread right where they were.
Another quick flame and the threat was gone, leaving rider and dragon ready for more.

The fight continued to wage heavily above them, as well as around them. C'ryn couldn't help but wonder just how hectic it was in the upper wings. He hadn't needed to deliver any Firestone to the highest altitude yet, where Thread was the thickest. Down here it was safer but the dragons had to move around and chase after the silver strands.
Aresoth had tucked his wings into his body to dive after a piece. The bronze was moving so quickly to go after it, belching flame that he missed one of his green sisters diving after the same piece of Thread. Her cry of pain shocked him as he watched her go between, waiting breathlessly for her to reappear. Seeing she was okay, more or less, Aresoth returned to the fight, making a note to check in on her when this was over.

Ash clouds were becoming treacherous, billowing in from this way and that. The wind blew ash and smoke in unpredictable directions, Vishnuth taking two in quick succession. My skin burns, Mine... the wind is terrible this day... Trying to maintain his mirth, it was clear Vishnuth was in pain.
