Aryale

"For sure," surely one of these fine dragons would like Bukichi, right? Aryale knew he needed it, though she could have argued any of the others needed it as well now that she looked over what candidates were still on the sands. She hadn't taken enough time to really get to know them all, but.....right then it was alright to be selfish and want it for one of her favorite people, right?

More eggs were moving now, splitting open and - "Ah! More blues!" she beamed, though she was still fairly certain on her odds with a green. But a blue would have been wonderful too.

"We have so many lively personalities amongst them all," she sighed, almost wistfully. Even when one wasn't for you, it was fun to look and ponder....and maybe be a little sad you had to wait longer.

Papys

Oh, he was being groomed! Papys laughed at the little firelizard's antics. "Do I look that bad, little friend?" he asked, giving N'man a thumbs up as the healer set to his task with his chest and instead leaning into Plague to offer kisses in the same way one may a family pet. "Aren't you a good little helper?"

Though he was missing seeing all of the eggs that were hatching now, but....he could say hello soon, right?

Kiri & green Felisath

Felisath seemed more or less satisfied when Teth seemed to settle himself upon the sands. The change was noted, just as her eyes fell upon a few of her clutchmates finding Theirs, and the others who remained behind. Noted, noted, and noted. Looking back up at Kiri, the green glanced over at where her bonded clutchmates were beginning to gather.

"Good luck to you too, Bukichi. To you both." She smiled at the two of them--a smile that was radiant and full of nothing but unadulterated joy. "The food's just off this way," she began, turning her eyes back down to the little green before her. Felisath followed, as close to Kiri's legs as she could get without tripping the girl. The little green was hungry, ravenous even, but there was an anxious feeling that Kiri couldn't quite dispel. There was a hint of yellow in her eyes the closer they drew to the tables, and Kiri could feel the green's uncertainty.

It's all right, I'm here. She thought quietly, hoping the little one could hear; knowing that she would.

Felisath didn't say anything, but she did press just a bit closer, and Kiri reached down to put a hand gently on Felisath's head and cheek. Instead of going right to the group, she instead, she kept them just a little bit apart. She didn't care what others thought. Right now, she only wanted her little green comfortable, and if the crowd of her clutchmates was making her anxious, well, to a quieter table it was. "How about this? Nice and cozy? Just me and you?"

Honestly, there was nothing in Kiri's world right now but Felisath. Friends, family, even the grief that had once so badly haunted her--everything, in this moment, was Felisath. ....I like it here. She finally, softly, admitted. Though her eyes periodically and shyly looked over at the others, Felisath truly felt more comfortable a little more on the outskirts. While part of her was glad to see so many sisters, there were just a few too many boys; and both sets had some terribly overwhelming personalities. No, the little green preferred to be here, just with Hers, together with family, but still apart.

Nikal - 19, he/him - & Green Tecuanith

The green mantled her wings as they approached the table where the rest were starting to gather, her eyes a challenging red. Not that she expected anyone else to raise an objection now, but it was always good to make a strong first impression.

You already did, Nikal pointed out fondly.

< A strong second impression, then. >

He sure thought Tec would: she was still covered in blood, ichor, and sand, had the wounds from her tussle with Leoth, and now was trying to appear even bigger. Nikal found himself standing taller just walking near such a display. Had he always slouched? He rolled his shoulders back as they ducked into the tent.

Despite the lingering anger, Tecuanith was more than pleased to be sitting with her clutchsibs, even if it meant having to be near the more unsavory types. Also, eating. She led Nikal immediately to Zhaoruith, a scarred knight presenting herself to the lady she had answered the call for. < You would find Yours first, > she said as she folded her wings closed, wanting to butt her head against her sister but wondering if the...mess on her was not something to be shared. < No-one else touched you, did they? >

Did she notice her scars? Did the rest? They made her singularly unique, you know!

Nikal’s eyes darted from new person to new person, content to be silent until someone talked to him first. He had to cut meat after all, though he kept flipping his asymmetrical bangs back with annoyance. Damn sweat...But at his newly beloved’s insistence, he spread his stance wide to save a spot for Yaguareth and Hers, whenever she was ready to join them. If she would join them...

At Kleoth’s greeting, Tecuanith turned her head briefly. Ah, and there was Leoth coming to sit at the head of the table with her, no doubt. The red in her eyes remained, though at least now she wasn’t immediately raring to go. She gave a curt nod and nothing more.

Candidate Omurntas Western
He simply gritted his teeth. He hadn’t been here long. Still it was annoying. He’d been living his peaceful life, until a certain gold had dropped out of the blue. Omurn glanced toward Killakeeth. The young man resisted the urge to move away again from this woman. He wouldn’t admit she’d gotten under his skin though.

He nodded at the energy comment. They certainly had spunk. Omurn decided to try to enjoy the rest of the hatching. Many hatchlings were still running around.

Rinis- Apprentice Firelizard Breeder Western
“Only a few eggs to go.” Rinis simply couldn’t shut up, despite the fact her companions could easily see the goings on just as well as she could. Two eggs left to hatch, and 11 dragonets to impress. Rinis leaned forward and chin handed eagerly.

Serfie shook her head when Fisher asked if she was a beastcrafter, it should be pretty clear she wasn't but then, she was being taught not to judge from first impressions, after all..... she was given more than a second chance. "no" she said simply.

When Dhawsn put a hand to her back, she twisted away slightly, preferring not to be touched right now, her face pinched, "Sorry just... " she paused, she didn't want to dismiss the other's kindness but she just ..couldn't right now. She did take his advice on breathing deeply though "No it's...okay, i'll breathe, just.. please...." she trailed off again as more dragons Impressed and hatched, she really was trying hard..... "Thank you" she added, it really wasn't Dhawsn's fault she was feeling so overwhelmed right now.

She'd come back as Rykin seemed to lapse unconcious again, perhaps that was a good thing now since Vekiel was going to stitch him up. She hoped his dragon wasn't on the sands yet and betweened because he wasn't awake.

She caught the wetness on Vekiel's face but didn't judge him at all, in fact she respected his moment and didn't mention it but she'd noted it and smiled back at him, albeit a small one, when he brushed his feeling away and got back to the job. She nodded and watched as instructed "Okay"

Rio

The little green found her pirate, Candy Cane hatched to reveal yet another fine blue, Nanner brown was perusing the candidates, and Teal and Yellow got moving, hatching into another handsome blue! How delightful! Rio smiled brightly at the sight; he'd liked every egg he'd touched, of course, but he'd enjoyed giving that egg scritches nearly as much as the egg enjoyed receiving them, near as he could tell.

He watched it - and the rest, of course - radiating happiness and waiting to see what they would do.

Jacquol & Green Jubath - Impression Post
Her eyes couldn't help but jump back to the apparently-not-looking-for-a-pirate green again as the moments ticked by. She felt a bit silly, really, and a little agitated too. Like a cat that had had water flicked on it, but not enough to get her hackles up... she'd thought, for just a minute, that maybe the green had wanted her, and that was the problem hen you came down to it. She'd let herself accept that this was the moment, and then it wasn't, and she was pouting and—

Are you sure that you want to leave the Weyr? Is that really all that you can imagine, my Jacquol? It's your choice, of course, but I thought... instead of just a pirate, you could be Mine? ...Will you choose your Jubath?

—aaaand she was a right ol' barnacle, just ugly on the side of an otherwise gorgeous ship, wasn't she? The poor darling's eyes had gone gray as a storm clouds, thinking that there was any way at all that Jacquol wasn't going to choose her. As if she hadn't been waiting turns for her own green to come along. As if she would just cast off and leave the perfect dear behind to weep and wave a kerchief after her sails as they sank over the horizon. Just because the little green, little Jubath, had wanted to take an extra moment to make sure she knew her mind about who to pick.

Without hesitation the woman stooped, scooping the green up with a grunt (even small as she was, a baby dragon was heavy!) and slung her up into a little half-toss, catching her on her hip and leaning in to nuzzle her nose against Jubath's snout. "Well for all yo claim to be mine, you clearly need to get to now me better, Jubath! As if I'd have it any other way, hmm? A pirate queen always needs a perfect first-mate... and I can't imagine shoving off without you!"

So... you'll stay? Here? Jubath ventured, her eyes fading back to hopeful blue, the rainbow of impression wiping away much of her woes. Carefully she wrapped a wing around her Jacquol, the claw grabbing onto the back of her robes (and probably tearing it just a bit, oops...) as she clung to the girl.

"We'll see, my sweet green sprite! Either way, I'll have you, and you'll have me. That's something, aye?" Jacquol gave the green another smooch on the snout, turned to give a wink and a quick, "Good luck!" to Tarnaria, threw a wave to wherever Ambrin and Beylith perched up in the stands, and then set off for the sands' exit.

Papa had told her to find Hers and Impress!

Except... Except the little Purple Flying Heart green was having trouble finding them. There were an awful lot of Candidates still present, but the little green knew there was one among them that was meant for her! She paused to sniff at Vesden, nope not that one. What about Ormuntas? No, not him either. She glanced at Aelyx, nope, not that one, and what about Dhawsn, Aerden, Marinel? Nope, nope, nope.

But there was someone out there for her, because that was the rule of Impression, and this little green was certainly not a rulebreaker. She stepped around another group of Candidates that were not-quite-right, when finally, she stopped.

Oh! Oh, oh, oh, there he was!

Squealing with absolute glee, the little green suddenly bolted toward a small group of Candidates. She pushed herself right past Helane and instead, immediately took hold of edge of Cuzon's Candidate robe.

There you are! Oh, Papa told me to Impress, so he can meet you after the Hatching, and here you are! The best of the bunch! Oh, isn't your Sonorienth the best dragon? You are happy, right? Those are the rules, and you gotta--you gotta follow the rules, you know, else I'm gonna tell Mama!

Cuzon would be washed over with nothing but tender and sweet, ever-adoring love. But the boy also knew that the green's threat was entirely, a hundred percent true. Hopefully, he would well, and truly be, happy with Baby's First Impression.

Vesden | High Reaches | He/Him

Those blues were adorable, if some gentle boys like this hatched earlier the hatching would have gotten off to a much smoother start. Not that Vesden wasn't a fan of the ferocity of those greens, but these little blues had good vibes together, they were so cute helping each other with their shells. That was what he wanted to see, he decided easily, not more candidates in danger.

Privately, as the number of greens on the sands waned, Vesden was happy they'd found their matches in someone else. He did expect he'd impress a green or blue if he impressed at all his first time out, it was just more likely statistically, but that was a lot more intensity than he could match, and unless they were looking for someone who could steady them maybe he'd had no chance with them to begin with.

The sands were still about half green, and there were those darling blues, so he certainly still had a chance. He had a chance with the browns and bronzes as well but he wasn't going to set himself up for disappointment like that, if they wanted him that would be wonderful but he wasn't going to dwell on the idea. Lost in thought and not terribly close to any particularly dangerous hatchlings, the young man crossed his arms over his chest as he observed everything from where he was, truly happy for those who impressed but longing more than he'd thought he would to find that himself today.

All of these picture perfect moments, and Kallian did not have so much as a scrap of hide or charcoal to catch even one of them. He couldn't stand it, couldn't stand just how completely useless he felt without a brush or a pencil in hand. It wasn't that he was just an artist, nothing but ink and paper. But he wanted to immortalize the powerful way that each newly made rider was moved. It was something unlike anything else he'd ever seen. All he could do was watch.

Helane held her breath when the green hatchling came towards her and Cuzon... was this it? .. did she want Helane?.........nope, it was clear she wanted Cuzon, but that was okay, Cuzon was a nice guy after all, she tried hard not to screech in happiness for him, instead letting out a strangled squeal, her eyes wide, her smile scrunching them up in the corners. "Yaaaaaaaay CUZON!" she squealed out, bouncing in place.

FISHER

"Just...relax, like he says, mmkay. You panickin' over dragons is gonna getcha hit like that baby did to the big one." Fisher was talking like an expert but she had no clue other than the basics. Staying alive was important and following the absolute basics of warm thoughts and not panicking was simple enough. The brown who'd savaged a few candidates, to say the least, was on the move and Fisher watched him. He'd gotten her attention while in his egg, and part of her wondered if he remembered her. That could be either good or bad, but maybe a sign from these babies that she was worth remembering would be nice?

....hadn't she just said not to think bad thoughts? Shardface. A mental slap pushed that away. "Iffin a dragon's here for ya they're gonna pop up an' say that yer theirs." A glance over saw another green Impressing - the one who'd been loved by the seemingly deadglow dad. "Look, they're still happenin' and like he said, there's lotsa eggs still out there. S'ides, are you plannin' on agin out or sommin?" Man, this was the most Fisher had talked in a long while. This Serfie person had better appreciate all of her really bad attempts at cheering her up.

Unfortunately for Fisher, Serfie did not appreciate it, at least not in the way she might hope. "I'm not...panicking" she said, forcing calmness she didn't feel into her voice. She eyed the bigger girl, again trying to be nice, since Fisher had helped her up, unwanted help yes but still, She was learning not to treat every effort from someone else with hostility or suspicion. She just wasn't in the mood for being cheered up, she just needed to get through this or Impress.....

Dsharmira

Dsharmira was listening attentively to the people at the feeding table. Don’t let her chew too quickly, pace her, get those wounds cleaned. She took the offered wet cloth and slowly and carefully wiped the blood and sand from Zhaoruith as the dragon chewed.

Zhaoruith daintily ate her meal and watched as her siblings impressed. When Kleoth spoke to her, she would have turned up her nose but Dsharmira told her, maintaining a polite regard will endear you more to the others. You don’t have to like her to be polite to her.

Zhaoruith inclined her head regally to Kleoth. Thank you. Congratulations on finding your rider as well. It was said a little cooly but was at least an acknowledgement to the troublesome gold. Zhaoruith’s green sister Tecuanith was greeted more warmly and with a small boop to the head. Of course. You were a wonderful help and no one else touched me. Zhaoruith looked over Tecuanith’s wounds. And you? Your wounds seem no worse.

Her dragon now cleaner and shining in a lovely way, Dsharmira stood and eyed the sand on her courtesan garb. Maybe she could salvage it…but that didn’t matter. She had Zhaoruith now. With a beautiful smile she turned to the rider of the green that Zhaoruith was fond of. “Hello,” she greeted Nikal. It was time to start getting to know her new compatriots. “I am Dsharmira.”
