Lelte / HR She/Her

One after another, it seemed the hatchlings were Impressing. And now that the fight was over and done, everything was going rather smoothly. It was... nice. Though she felt a small twinge each time that she wasn't one of the lucky ones. But she buried the jealousy deep, being careful to exude nothing but joy and happiness and sunshine.

Which was her default. She was a happy sweet person by nature. But when Tandry Impressed, her joy came easier, was a touch more meaningful. Because he deserved it. Her big brother was such a good kind person, and he would make an amazing rider. She was truly proud of him and excited for him.

And if there was a twinge - because that blue was just so precious, and she might have wanted to be the one to protect him from all the harshness in the world - well, it wasn't bad, and she knew the dragonets chose the best one for them. She would just have to find them at later.

There were still babies on the sands, which meant that she still had hope for this Hatching. And if not this one, there would be others.

The Snowflake green was glad that all the stupid boys had cleared out. It was her time! She marched through the cluster of candidates, browsing and checking them over. Were any of these Candidates hers?

Meanwhile, the Gingerbread Egg began to hatch in earnest. Caroling Note circled back to check on her sibling, peeping at the dragonet within the shell. Come on, come on out! You can do it!

Candidate Tarnaria

Blinking a bit back into herself, Tarnaria watched as the last of the male dragons found Theirs. She let out a little hum, watching for a moment as the last of the greens started making their rounds, and the last egg wobbled and hatched. It was there, but there was the tiniest glimmer of hope - Maybe one of these was here for her?

Urzoh - HR - [she/her]
"So he did! Would you look at that!" She grinned. If it wasn't so sharsing hot she'd throw an arm around Ahula and point her at the them more. It was rude to stare, or so had said her Auntie, so maybe she shouldn't.

"And a little one rocking yet. They'll all find their pick of the litter." A little surge of pride coursed through Urzoh. High Reaches born and bred, she couldn't help but to feel proud such a bright, strong clutch would grow up where she's always called home! "I wonder which will find theirs next, the sweetlings."

====
Rahmsii - HR - [he/him]

Rahmsii pulled his way from the line, going to stand again with his friends. No need now that the bronze had found who he was looking for bless them both! Feeling remarkably less awkward, muscles he didn't know he had tensed relaxed. He was never one for any sort of direct attention. His relief palatable, and felt almost as good as the numbered that soothed some of his bandaged aches.

He played with a long piece of his hair that stood up to all ends in the heat of the hatching caverns. Absent in thought, he tugged and twirled it around his fingers. A fine Hatching, faster that anyone knew it those babies would be strong enough to hover - then to fly and flame. Born outside Weyrlife, it made him feel particularly privileged seeing such a display so close the hatching eggs. He had seen more dragons today, than he may have in the previous part of his life. Easy contentment rolled through him.

Candidate Nalacko - she/her

There the last bronze had finally gone down the line and picked his out. He sure was handsome. His rider would be very pleased, Nala was sure. She looked curiously, with humor, at Gingerbread Egg. The bronze has Impressed, she thought, are you going to come out now so we can admire you? Or make us wait until the rest of your siblings are off the sands? If that was the case, someone really wanted the spotlight.

But no, it looked like the last egg was going to put some effort into it now. Silently, Nala cheered the baby on.

Soui

The hatching was winding down, only a few dragonts remained, and Soui wondered if it would be considered rude to leave early in an effort to help get things set up. The last feast she had attended had been so grand and must have been so much work, and even if they had all those people maybe they needed more? Would it be awful of her to offer? Ms Padmia always seemed to have it magically under control, she was so amazing that Soui couldn't help but admire her.

So you want to become a headwoman instead of a healer? Museth's soft and amused rumbled startled her rider, who shook her head violently. I know, I admire her as well. The women of this Weyr are amazing, both human and dragon. Now Soui nodded, though less harshly. But please stay and watch. These are our comrades in our fight, and it would be rude if you left.

With that the white rider decided to stay. still holding some small hopes in her heart. She hoped her friends would Impress, Mr. Orri and Dehka, but....even if they didn't she knew it would be okay. They would be amazing dragonriders someday, if someone like her was able to be one.

Rykin

And there he went! With the last bronze on the sands impressed Rykin relaxed, moving off to one side as the remaining hatchlings milled about, looking for theirs. He was curious to see the sort of dragon that emerged from the Gingerbread egg, but for now the little greens were thoroughly entertaining in their search.

Solameya // HRW// She/her

Oh, good. That very uncertain blue found his, and the Christmas Tree bronze claimed his as well. Panning her gaze around, she nodded. All the boys got taken care of. A few green hatchlings remained, and the Gingerbread egg was really getting close. Probably. The String or Lights green was beginning to make the rounds, visiting and checking out candidate as she went. Solameya shifted once again, lacing her fingers in front of her and subtly stretching her back muscles as she rolled her shoulders back. She was keeping watchful, but with the more bombastic boys off at the feeding tables, thoughts of numbers edged into her mind. She was twenty five. Was her time at High Reaches drawing to a close? Possibly. She had originally come with half the expectation that it was a sort of a joke. Getting searched so late? She had another Turn. One never knew...Hm.

She shook her head and refocused herself. Thoughts for tomorrow. For now there were little ones that still needed attention. Come on, Gingerbread. You’ve got this.

Kinyegele

"Go go go!" Kinye cheered along with the others who were doing their best to support the Gingerbread egg.

-----

Kahbrohm

And there went the bronze. Kahbrohm put his hands on his hips as it beseeched another boy to be his. He looked at the other dragons that still remained - and the ever shaking Gingerbeead egg. And then he watched the green that Chakuri had liked the egg of give her a passing greeting.

Hmm.

It was time to fall out of the line, however, as there was no need for it now. So he made careful note of the still roaming dragonets to return to where the girls who hadn't moved still stood.

Ahula - HR Candidate - She/Her

Nodding, she beamed up at Urzoh. "No doubt. They're such darlings." Soon they'd be big enough to fly and flame just as every dragon of High Reaches could, fighting thread to keep them safe. She beamed with pride, happy to be able to bear witness it to it all from the sands. There was a n** of unease, that so few had come to see her (more importantly, hadn't come to see Urzoh). But she knew better, throwing the thoughts away. They were here for the babies, after all -- and it was an honor of her being a weyrbrat to be able to witness it since she could.

"Oh, the last egg is beginning to hatch." Their sister circling the egg was quite adorable, and brought a smile to her face -- even if her hair hid most of it.

The little green String of Lights continued to make her way deliberately among the Candidates. She strode her way to the back, over to Haveli to give her a long look. Warmth and pride filled the girl. You've always been the strong one and that will never change. Perhaps it's time you learn how to be vulnerable and let others in. There's so much you can offer, and so much you can give, if only you let your guard down. Don't ever forget that there are those who genuinely care for you. Please let them. And with a gentle croon and a softnuzzle, she trotted away.

Perhaps Haveli would spurn her, but her words and care were no less sincere. She believed in Haveli.

Away from Haveli, she trotted over to Tuelarua and offered her a wave of gentle pride and pleasure too. Such a good one--keep the faith. I'm sure my sibling will be out in no time. Sending the Candidate a wave confidence the green carried on her way.

Tuelarua - HR Candidate, She/Her/Hers

She smiles at Rahmsii as he came to join her once more, but she's distracted momentarily by the string of lights green trotting up to her. The wave of emotions--such pride! soft pleasure--had the woman beaming for the dragon baby in front of her.

"I trust you. I cannot wait to see their entrance--good luck!" She wished the baby well as she moved on her way, the wave of confidence making her stand a bit taller, smile a bit more. What a sweetheart.

Now, the compliment from Othelloth, that he was pleased by, and accepted wholeheartedly and with blue eyes. He was terribly tired, and his great moment had not gone as it should have, but he didn't have to let it ruin everything about his very first hours free of his shell. He could enjoy what little good company there was to be had. Your own endeavor had a far more satisfactory conclusion, I gather he replied. It was to be expected, of course, as the humans weren't to fight back, and there was little they could do regardless. My satisfaction will have to wait, but I will not forget.

The day would coem when he would have his chance, and his adversary would not always have the advantage of size. It was only a matter of time, by Maestoth's reckoning.

"As well as can be expected," I'zrin answered, not bothering to temper a tone that made it obvious he he sided with his brown's hard feelings on the matter regardless of the fact that he had started the brawl in the first place. Rocking slightly, still not letting go his protective hold, he let his attention follow his dragon's. It was a boy he didn't recognize, which meant a Westerner. Or a former Westerner, as it were. "But he's strong. He'll be fine."

Maestoth let out a little huff. Of course he would be fine, because he was not only strong, he was the strongest. The best.

"That's a handsome blue." Ilzerin inclined his head just slightly in acknowledgement. "Othelloth, right?"

I'm going to find mine next! And I have! Right here! the Snowflake green informed Urzoh, staring the tall woman in the face. It's me you're looking for. So it's not rude to stare, is it? She had done the rounds and had seen what she'd come here to see. Urzoh was the one she wanted, for now and forever. So let her siblings take their time.

She was done waiting. If you're finished talking, your Cartujanth would like to get moving... toward the feeding table, thank you. A little irritated by the wait, but nonetheless willing to wait if she had to, Cartujanth stared right up at Urzoh. Was she ready yet?
