Ouch! You had successfully flamed Thread but the gust push the ash back into you as you fly! The hot ash cloud burns as you fly through it, but you're made of tougher stuff than that! The focus is Thread, not pain! [+2 Pain Resilience]
Wings beating carefully, Hiraeth was taking everything in measure since arriving with his wing at the high altitude. He wasn't very big; he didn't have the stamina to match other dragons, so he had to be careful. Be cautious, use his training and skill, and he would be fine. Its a small mantra in his head, and gives him hope for the otherside of this fall. He'd be okay, he's certain of it.
Yet as he flames down a clump, a proud trill in his throat, its cut off by the high whine of pain as ash scattered across his face. Nearly invisible in the moonlight, Hiraeth is quick to try and shake it free. Not the worst start, but certainly not the best...

Though they'd seen many dragons return unable to rejoin the fight, though Yulaniath had keened with the rest of the dragons in the weyr at the loss of their brown wingmate, Shar and Yulaniath appeared in the skies ready to fight. Yulan sent Bossuth a little mental nudge to let them know they were there with them before twisting out of the way of Thread that had been blown towards them. She caught it with her flame as they righted themselves, letting only ash fall to the wings below.

5. The air is thick with Thread. It's at its heaviest up here, and you are literally surrounded by silver tendrils. You roar defiance before spitting forth a great flame, scorching the deadly threads before you with ease. Flame Length +1
Winging back into position. Yulaniath found herself with Thread all around her. She gave a roar of challenge and flamed a pathway to escape through without jumping Between, managing to make a wide enough path even at distance.

Shars, but there was Thread EVERYWHERE up here! No sooner had they escaped than they were surrounded again. Yulan once again had to flame a pathway for them and Shar had to admit she was impressed with her dragon's flame length.

16. The wind picks up, and you fight to keep in formation. Your wings strain, but you're able to keep your place! Though your muscles ache, you're not going to give up so easily. Pern depends on you! +2 Stamina
After escaping the massive spots of Thread, Yulan had to fight to keep her position in the wing. Her muscles strained and they were bounced around a bit, but otherwise they were successful.

7. This is such a mess! Thread is everywhere. The High Altitude Wing is always in the thick of it, and today is no exception. If you are a green, or blue smaller than 30' you're easily able twist and wheel out of the way of the thick clumps. Instead, you're able to flame down a patch of Thread threatening your wingmates, and what a burst of flame it is! Quote a Wingmate who took Thread Damage and nullify it for this Round! +2 Flame Length
Thread was everywhere again and it was all the pair could do to flame it down. They were tiny but mighty, though, and as a clump of thread threatened a wingmate, Yulan gave another impressive burst of flame to save them. Ash was the only thing that brushed over the other dragon and rider.

3.+5 Extra XP Points You did great! We're not sure what you did, but you did great. Fill in post being successful or doing something like not-dying, and you can give yourself 5 extra XP points! You may put them all in one stat (at the game's end) or break them apart.
As they flew Yulan continued to flame down clumps and sheets left and right. Shar felt adrenaline pumping through her as they worked in the dark, sitting up slightly in the stirrups to move with her green more fluidly. Together they were an unstoppable team and up here in the high altitude they had to do their job well to make it easier for those below.

A large swath of Thread heads your way! Roll a D4 to see what happens!
2. If you're a green or blue under 30', you're able to successfully twist out of the way, flaming on the way down! You roar in triumph as you turn part of the sheet into harmless ash. +1 Agility
As a massive patch of thread bore down on them, Hiraeth twisted slightly, coiling in midair to ride the thermal out of harm's way. There's a minor delight in incinerating the once alarming clump into a pile of ash, and a small curl of calm began to swirl in his otherwise worried eyes.
As you're flying, the wind picks up again, trying to knock you out of formation!
If 23' to 35', you're able to fight it, but wind up straining a muscle. Whoops. Maybe you over-compensated. -4 HP
Wind was always a factor for falls, but up on the high altitudes, the little blue stood no chance. Hiraeth's wings beat harder, trying to stay in formation, even as his shoulders began to ache. Oh, that would be sore...

You take a direct hit from Thread! The question is, where!?
2. This hits your dragon's face and eye! Your beast screeches in pain, and hops immediately back to the Weyr. Moderate Damage -5 HP It's up to you on how much face damage it does. If their eye is okay, they can return to their Wing. If there's eye damage, or possible worse damage than listed, have them land to get checked by a healer.
With the wind picking up, and the last dredges of sunlight creeping out through the cloud cover, Hiraeth was determined to stay alert, stay aware of the danger that surrounded him. It didn’t stop from being surprised as a sharp gust of wind slapped a silvery strand of thread across Hiraeth’s face. The blue screeched, whipping his head around as Ky’ess’ firm mental grip forced the blue to focus on the jump back to High Reaches, not willing to risk such a close hit.

Your dragon is blown completely out of formation, and is too tired to stop it. Fellow wingriders notice, and trumpet warning, but your dragon is just too tired to care. The wind is too much! Moderate Damage -5HP Your dragon also now suffers Fatigue Effect For the next 3 rolled turns your dragon will suffer from Fatigue Effect. Any XP earned during those turns is negated. On the plus side, any negative status effect (i.e. additional Fatigue Effect, Guilt, Bitten Tongue, etc.) is also negated, since your dragon is too tired to care. The only exception is if you get a status that cures Fatigue or your Wingleader/Wingsecond rolls a status cancelling roll.)
Going up into the highest altitude was always a wild card, and it was no wonder when it could blow a dragon Dormith's size out of formation and send him reeling and struggling to get back into it almost immediately.

It was more a grunt and less a hiss that came out of Kaloth as he flew through another cloud of ash. Expected, not appreciated. Stinging, but not distracting. They flew on.
