We used to sing Beatles songs in choir cause the teacher was a Beatles freak xd We didn't go one performance without singing a Beatles song, it was great

You could do a time period, the fifties through the seventies or something. You have to enjoy at least one song that came out in those thirty years... Oh this is giving me good ideas for other themes too... like boy bands... I'm sure you all know at least one boy band...

You should just do a pre-1990 round, anything before then goes. Basically it can't be contemporary. Or the 80's could be something in and of itself too.

I like the seventies idea. That would be cool. Hmmm what about a musical theme? Hmmmmm? I think y'all should do a musical theatre selection, like the 'rape song' off the "Fantasticks." I think that's the name of the song...

If you restrict it to one band then not everyone is going to be as familiar with their songs or as capable of sining in that range. We need to keep thinking of categories that allow people a bit of space. Disney worked because everyone has seen a Disney movie and is familiar with at least some of the songs and they have a range of different songs. I like the idea of an oldies round as it gives people the space to pick and choose a type of song that they are familiar with and capable of singing. And, oh gosh, a boy band round? *Glances guiltily at old stack of cds* Yeah, I have some junk from back in the day... sweatdrop
