there appears to be no monster whose type is just Synchro/effect.
it all seems to be Warrior/Synchro/Effect, or Dragon/synchro/effect. along those lines, where there's the type of monster first, the fact that it's a synchro, and then the type of monster card last.
Synchro is the same as Spirit, Toon, and gemini. it's a new take on the same types.

disliker of the mary sue wellwisher Oh, Deoxys and Jirachi are legal too. yes but there is no way at the moment to get one legit except by trading For Deoxys that is true, you can no longer obtain them unless you went to an event (which there was for a whole month) or are cheating. jirachi, on the other hand, you can just trade for from a Colosseum games bonus disc. that one's legitimate. Really, becaue of Fire Red, and leaf green, plus the Colosseum games, the only nonlegit pokemon, will be Darkrai, Arceus, Shaymin, and Celebi. (and I'm pretty sure that Darkrai had an event for G4. Arceus and Shaymin haven't been released in the US yet, so it's fair game that those two aren't legit except by trading at the moment.)

Yata-Garasu will always be a fiend no matter the fact that it's a spirit. Toon Dark magician Girl will always be a spellcaster, despite the fact that it's a toon. and Gemini Neos will always be a warrior despite being a gemini.

So, what I'm trying to get at, is that Synchro monsters, are merely a new take, just like Toon, gemini, and Spirit monsters, to the normal 20 monster types. Synchro was just the first one to do it with a new card backround.

Toon Dark magician Girl will always be a spellcaster, despite the fact that it's a toon. and Gemini Neos will always be a warrior despite being a gemini. it more like fusions really it even placed in the fusion deck whitch we now call the extra deck. also now the maxiaom deck size is 60 cards and we can only have 15 cards in the exta deck and the side deck can have anything between 0-15 now. so it changing big.
