The difference between the good guys and the bad guys

The sound of a single gunshot echoed thru the halls of the monastery. The sound loud and rare at that had come from the armory where unsurprisingly to anyone not new to the ranks would find Kyo. His trusty side arm was raised and pointed at a wall where a single wood target stood with a hole where it's head would be tho just slightly off to the right. "Good enough for the targets but, lets make sure the next batch's grain is upped by about 15%." A quick pull back and spin of the pistol and the weapon had been holstered and hidden underneath the shirt that the man wore. "Also make sure to have the cleaning kit in my room after dinner tonight. Don't want to have the carbon build up mess with my aim" he said seemingly more to himself then the person he was talking to.

Behind the semi-insane member of the guardians stood a rather older fellow bent over taking notes. Beside him on a cabinet sat several expended .45 rounds along with two magazines each one empty. "So you want the grain count upped 15%....." he started then began mumbling something nearly incoherent to himself not meant for the other occupant of the room. Finally nodding after a moment of rambling the old man adjusted his glasses before putting 4-13 round magazines on the table along with the rest of the magazines. "Use these for now the next batch will be in your room when you wake" the old man said turning and walking away as Kyo grabbed the magazines, pocketed them, and headed out.

On his way thru the hallways the sound of Mavericks training finally reached his ears. When was there not someone training in the grounds he wondered as he changed the direction he was walking. After finishing his last mission the man figured he would oversee a few of the less fierce members of the order training. "If they were less forgiving in the field tho they wouldn't need to train as much" Kyo scoffed to himself a bit heading out to the training area. He himself left his training to the field alone. What point was there to training if it was in a safe environment with no chance of serious injury or death. You would never learn anything from that besides the best way to live safely.

Is whether they use a human shield or make themselves one.

Maverick matched each of Skye's strikes with not much effort. Still unaware of the gathering crowd around him, he kept a focus on Skye. As he continued to block her attacks with his swords, he suddenly made a swipe at her feet with his one sword keeping the other one ready to see how she would react to this attack, though he assumed she would be able to jump over it with relative ease.

Skye jumped, but timed it so she would land on his sword, keeping it down for now as she thrusted her sword forward. She expected a block and would in turn would try to push him back while she kept his other sword under her feet. She was planning to get rid of one of his swords.

The creature was rising slowly out of the portal, paws grasping the edge and it stood eventually stood tall and mighty. It retracted it's chains which uprooted the nearby burning trees to the ground, letting out a low growl. The beast stood tall, about twenty feet, and was much longer in length. His nose sniffed the smoked infested air before turning its attention to Yua, piercing eyes through the mask moving closer to her. Yua drew her blade before the hard headed creature could touch her, her blade pushing against it's head as she glared right back at the beast, the two of them locking eyes for ten seconds.

The beast decided to turn a different direction, it's tails grazing across the ground to knock down more trees. The fire in the center was slowly dying, the beast was building its nest and the corruption continued to spread. Yua took the time sheath her blade and step a few feet away , having to stand by to watch the beast work for a little bit. Reaching into her pocket of her jack, she pulled out her flip phone and gazed at the time "Germany is...CEST?..." turning the phone upside down as that would help, little time has really past and the progress was moving quicker than she expected. With in the next half hour the corruption would consume most of the creatures of the forest. No doubt the fire men were already on the outer edge of the forest, fighting the impossible fire and the corruption slowly spreading beneath their feet, it would take a lot longer for it to consume people.

For now Yua simply sat back as the beast would continue to make it's nest. Eventually the surrounding area would have piles of burnt wood surrounding it. It'd consume any near by flora or fauna on its preference, even some of the already dead and decaying. She thought about her next time, but was told to wait and watch.

Maverick smirked as Skye landed on his sword, she did exactly what he wanted her to do. He decided against blocking her attack instead he pulled up on his blade to throw her off balance while simultaneously coming around her side with his other blade. He did attempt to shift slightly while doing this maneuver in an attempt to dodge most of her thrust but he wasn't sure if it would actually work well.

Angel of the Human Realm

The eerie wind she was unconsciously creating picked up a slight bit more. Nonchalantly she reached a hand to place a stray strand of her vibrant red hair behind her ear before going back down to her book and flipping a page in it. It was some mystery novel she was rather engrossed in it to keep her mind from wandering. Though in a strange way, these novels were connected to her mother's death. She had not yet figured out who the demon was that had killed her mother, since a normal investigation couldn't be conducted she had picked up wanting to learn more about solving crimes. Even observing real cases when she wasn't tracking down demons.

The sound of footsteps in the soft grass caught her attention, but she didn't bother to look up until the all too familiar voice spoke up about blowing someone over. Confusion was in her violet eyes as she lifted her gaze up to the red haired demon. As Serissa's eyes landed on his face and she saw how his hair was playing about his face was when she noticed that the wind was being caused by her own somber mood. The breeze returned to normal. Light and gentle carrying a warmth with it. She placed a bookmark on her page and sat her book on her lap.

"Hello, Jaku. How are you this day?" She knew he wasn't the demon responsible for her mother's death, so she had no issues with him. Though occasionally she would pick his brain on if there were ways to tell if certain demons did certain things. Little by little she was beginning to put the pieces together. Serissa's wings shifted slightly, perking up a bit. "And you know you would want to see someone fall over from my winds just so you can laugh at them. Admit it." Her voice was soft and angelic... well of course it was, she was half angel after all. She returned his smile.

Skye staggered back by a step, having one foot still on his sword. Her thrust was off its mark as she saw his other blade coming towards her. This didn't leave her with many options and with no time to think she quickly used her back foot to spring herself towards Maverick, trying to knock him to the ground with as much force as she exert. With where her sword was already positioned, she could quickly bring it to his neck if she was successful. Even if he didn't go down, it would be enough force to have him stagger back.

Demoness of the Shadows

The cruel demoness was pleased when he accepted her offer for him to help. She admired his techniques and abilities. She heard the crack of his whip as one of the lesser demons got sick. The cry that was let out made a cruel smile touch her lips. Her laughing gaze landed on the being as his air was cut off with another crack of the golden whip. To her it was all music to her ears. She began laughing maniacally when the being started to scream for mercy as it was in cased in the earth. Oh how she wished she could have seen it's face.

That wish was soon granted when he did the same to another, using a crystal instead of stone. "Very creative, Morpheus." She mused aloud. She loved the agony that was apparent. The little streams of blood adding a delicious metallic scent to the air. She danced to the screams again and moved her hands like she was conducting an orchestra. No one had ever accused her of being sane. "There are still seven to be tortured, my dear, Morpheus. Plenty more fun." She let out in a cold and cruel sing song voice to his question.

Just then one of the remaining was snatched up by a shadow to dangle by his binds. At first she had just thought about dropping him, but a thought struck her. "Would you mind making a slow growing stalagmite beneath that one? Make it really sharp and narrow." Her suggestion petrified the dangling demon and he paled. She meant to impale him.. slowly... painfully. And now she had the means to do it without searching to long for the perfect one to lower him onto. Oh how she was enjoying herself and the sounds of those wonderful screams and whimpers.

Maverick smirked, though she didn't exactly do what he expected he was impressed with her quick thinking, he reacted rather quickly to her spring boarding towards him and pulled his swords up to block, he staggered a bit as he took the blow, but managed to keep his balance. Once he was ready he came swinging at her at full force again.

Nyujaku stood still as the wind died down to a gentle breeze, no long blowing his deep red hair around. Yellow eyes watched as she closed her book. "I'm alright, was just avoiding the large crowd at the training hall. Though I may end up going by there soon anyway." He trained everyday, he just tried to do so when they're wasn't a whole lot of people around. He knew Maverick accepted him, as Serissa did as well, but he wasn't exactly sure about what the rest thought of him. His own leathery wings twitched a bit, after which he let them stretch out. He looked up to the sky, as if giving a thought to flying before turning his eerie yellow gaze back onto the angel.

His smile silently widened at her comment, the all to tell tale of her being right. He couldn't help that he was mischievous, and that it would be quiet funny to see. Depending on the person, it might even be hilarious. "That is true...some more than others." He gave a quiet laugh as he relaxed a little more and bent his legs up one by one to move them a bit. His wings folded back to his back, moving around a bit before finding a comfortable spot in their folding to settle. "But so would you." He teased her before brushing a hand through his hair, moving it down in between his horns before pulling his hand up and out so not to mess up his hair.

"So what's brought you out here, aren't you usually training?" He asked, looking curious. He heard the sounds of Maverick pushing himself as usual as he passed the training hall. In fact he thought he still heard him faintly, this time fighting someone else instead of the dummies. The man pushed himself a lot more than most of the beings that Jaku knew. Though, he was the same way. Fighting him was tricky, and not many here tried. It wasn't because they were scared, it was more because he was a demon and some didn't trust that they would remember him as a ally while fighting him. He didn't blame them, after all most of what they fought under Baal's rule were demons of some sort. The occasional fallen Angel as well, but those were few and far between.

Given enough time, Skye was able to jump back and block his swords. Her initial plan didn't succeed, but at least she managed to avoid his strike. While she blocked, she aimed a kick at his stomach to put a little distance between them and put her on the offensive.

Demon of Torture
Hand Spear

Morpheus smiled as she complimented his method. "Two of the greatest fears. Being unseen in your demise, and being watched as you suffer." Complete opposites, but both true. A low and chilling laugh escaped him, rumbling out passed wickedly sharp fangs that grew from the excitement of the screams. He watched her conduct her orchestra, loving the insanity she was proud to show. Looking over what was left, he smiled. There was plenty more fun to have. He took a moment to think over what he could do. He had many possibilities with his abilities. They were shaking, some looking like they were about to be sick like the being trapped within the solid earthen orb, in which screams were still coming from. They were starting to fade a little, the being would bleed out soon enough.

Her question caught his attention, and he smiled. Looking at the small thing dangling by the shadow, he brought a hand up. The earth below started to rise very slowly, narrowing into a shape spike. It was very slow indeed as it rose, promising death to the worthless wretch. Another being rose into the air, but no shadow grabbed this one. It looked around, trying to figure out what had lifted it off the ground. No earth had formed, no whip had wrapped around him, and no shadow was near enough. It looked over to Morpheus, who's gaze had set itself on him. The mask made it impossible to see his eyes. Every demon except two, one being Baal himself, thought he was completely blind. Every victim learned that it was untrue before their untimely death. But with them dead, they couldn't tell anyone else.

The floating being was turned upside down. Earth came from the ceiling and absorbed it's feet, holding it. He felt the power that was holding him let off as he suddenly fell to let the earth hold him, both it's knees becoming dislocated in the process. It screamed out from the pain. "That one we can save for later." He said, a laugh building up before spilling out. Tears fell to the ground as the half demon cried, begged to be let down and let live. The first of his encased victims finally died, the spikes driving in to far. Blood pooled around the earth orb, becoming large as it opened letting what was trapped inside flow out. The beings next to it that the blood touched tried to get away from the pool. The orb disappeared back into the earth, taking the body with it slowly and letting the face of frozen terror, pain, and agony show before it too finally disappeared.

Maverick saw her leg moving upwards and kinect with his stomach, he had attempted to catch it and block but failed, he stumbled back a bit, but quickly regained himself and prepared for Skye to charge at him.

As soon as she saw him stumble back, Skye rushed forward and swung her sword down on Maverick with all her strength. It was time to wrap this up so she started to give it her all, doing whatever she could to make sure he didn't have time recover and retaliate.

Maverick smirked as she swung her sword at him with all her might, he blocked it and then quickly shifted his weight to parry her and make her stumble forward giving him a chance to prepare a good counter attack.
