TORNADO WINGThella of Brown Lireloth HP: 38 Status Effect: N/A XP: Target Accuracy: 6 Flame Length: 6 General Stamina: 10 General Agility: 6 Between Accuracy: 6 Pain Resilience: 6 Instinct: 7 Luck: 6
Thella gave a little nod to G'lin, understanding completely what a fussy dragon was like. Lireloth had his moments, that was for sure, but she was thankful he wasn't like that full-time. She wasn't sure she could handle a dragon like that. She'd get so frustrated with everything having to be 'just so'. In fact, when Lireloth got fixated on something not being perfect she'd toss her hands up and tell him to knock it off or they wouldn't be doing anything. Generally she won out when her dragon became bored, but sometimes Lireloth persisted.
"That's very true, especially at a time like this," she agreed. "Ensure your dragon is comfortable and ready and you'll be as swift as the wind and as agile as a bird." She gave him a little grin of encouragement as she ignored her dragon who was positively preening under Neiveth's charming words. Lireloth extended a long wing to rest it gently against the smaller green, shading her from anything that might fall from above.
Never fear, Neiveth, you shall prevail! I shall be sure to watch your back if you watch mine. As proud and spotlight-hoggy as he was, Lireloth knew the benefit of having others watching him at times like this. He loved to be the center of attention, it was true, but during a Threadfall all focus should be on the danger falling from above. Keeping your wingmates safe was high priority because they, in turn, would keep him safe.

Queen's Wing G'ran of brown Elzebuth HP: 22 HP Status Effect: N/A XP: (Base Stat - +1 to everything)(+5 to distribute) Target Accuracy: +2 Flame Length: +1 General Stamina: +3 General Agility: +1 Between Accuracy: +1 Pain Resilience: +2 Instinct: +2 Luck: +1
To be flying with the Queens was almost humiliating for the large, dark Devil, but it was for the sake of G'ran's health. He would never admit that his wings still ached mildly from the beating they'd taken only a bit ago--but he absolutely refused to compromise when it came to His. Fortunately, G'ran's wounds, though spreading across an extensive amount of skin, were not as serious as they had seemed. The shock, exhaustion, and crippling fear of Between had rattled him more than anything, but he was determined not to make a fool out of himself or his fellows again. If that meant serving as the last line of defense, so be it.
We will. Come home to us. There was a definite command in those words, and G'ran chuckled quietly at Elzebuth's defiant attitude. "We'll do better, this time." He said, patting his brown's neck. Elzebuth rumbled deeply in return, his eyes whirling a mixture of green and red. Yes. They would do better, and all would see just how great they could be.

BURNING ACES WINGM'aze of Bronze Zeath HP: 37 Status Effect: N/A XP: Target Accuracy: 9 Flame Length: 6 General Stamina: 6 General Agility: 6 Between Accuracy: 7 Pain Resilience: 7 Instinct: 6 Luck: 6
A quick look around the large holding area was an inspiring sight to see. Wings were forming up in groups, riders and dragons alike speaking to one another, prepping each other for what lay ahead. M'aze turned his head to find one of his own wingmates fidgeting a bit and he knew there was nothing worse than the nerves before a flight. He himself was quite laid back and even he felt that twinge of uncertainty and fear just before take off. This could be his last few hours on this world, after all. Still, didn't mean he couldn't offer a supportive word or two.
"That's why we're here," he said to Aly'on, giving the other rider a wink of encouragement. "So long as we stick to our orders we'll make sure everyone else stays safe, too."
A lovely trickle-down effect, Zeath chimed in, giving his fellow dragon a little nod as he comforted his rider. Although he was bronze he and Ihiannsith matched each other in length, toe to tip, and he knew the large brown would be his mirror in the wing. They'd be the anchor points around which the smaller dragons would move once they got higher up in altitude.

Thella gave a little nod. Her mother was a greenrider and she knew that to be true. While small, they were hardy creatures, even her mother's delicate little thing. Graceful and swift, they were the ones that could get into a Fall and escape without so much as a burn if they were good at jumping Between. Normally it was the little dragons that really were best at it, as well.
Behind and above her, Lireloth retracted his wing as his eyes swirled a lovely shade of green, thoughts of Threadfall forgotten for a moment in favor of the charming little green beside him. Her warm, affectionate wave washed over him, chasing away any sort of doubt or worry that might have been lingering about the flight. If there was one thing that got him in the right state of mind for a battle like this, it was the promise of a pretty dragon watching him show off.
A charming promise from a charming dragon, my dear, he cooed in reply, his tail swinging back and forth in an attempt to find hers. All he managed to do, though, was to sweep a Candidate off their feet as they hustled around with satchels of firestone. His efforts earned him a whack against his shoulder and he lowered his head to glare at Thella who was glaring right back.
"Look at what you did, Lireloth. The poor thing," she said, motioning back towards the Candidate who was getting to her feet and stuffing the fuel back into the bag. "Focus on the task and hand and you two lovebirds can flirt after Thread has passed for the day."
Oh, you're no fun, Thella. A beautiful dragon with charming words gets me in the proper mindset, he huffed in return, folding his wings neatly against his side as he raised his head snobbishly. I apologize for the boorish behavior my rider is showing, Neiveth. Pay her no mind.
Thella heaved a sigh and glanced back at G'lin, a wry smile on her face. "He does have a point...he always performs much better at his tasks when he knows others are watching. Show off."

Whoops! Neiveth was all laughter at the accidental toppling of the candidate - though she kept such laughter private between herself and Lireloth. When G'lin finally got his straps in place, she gave a full body shake to feel them out, thrumming thoughtfully as if holding onto some sort of critique for her rider - before practically bowling the boy over to sidle up closer to her brown wingmate at last.
Oh yes, life was good.
G'lin, on the other hand, rolled his eyes with his own laughter as he moved to help the poor candidate stuff firestone back into their bags. Hey, as long as both feet were on the ground, he saw no issue with lending a helping hand.
The only one I'm paying attention to is you, Lireloth dear~ As Neiveth leaned in, clearly happy to hang onto the brown's every word with an affectionate trill, G'lin turned back towards Thella with a laugh. "Well she'll keep extra watch on him, that's for sure!" he agreed. Though privately, he knew better than to say 'she's not going to focus on anything else'. Faranth, if she'd just rise and get it out of her system it...it would really actually make no difference.
Sigh.

TSUNAMI WING M'nr of Bronze Cordrath HP: 46 Status Effect: -- XP: (+2 to base) (+5 to distribute as I see fit) Target Accuracy: +2 Flame Length: +2 General Stamina: +3 General Agility: +2 Between Accuracy: +2 Pain Resilience: +4 Instinct: +4 Luck: +2
Do you think we got enough practice, Cordrath? there was humor that surrounded the man's worried tone, and the bronze rumbled it away. Rely on our new compatriots, right? He'd heard M'nr spin situations to his favor so many times, that it seemed almost comical that now he was worrying at all. Of course, he always shone his brightest when there was a small ounce of desperation lacing such things.
Of course, it wasn't as though as if they'd stayed at Benden they would have been any more prepared than they were right then. Still, a few weeks of practice and another uplift into the air - Cordrath felt almost like a natural. A bit rusty in some places, but a natural never the less. Still, he kept his head level, wrapping up a pleasant thought to send across the ocean.
Dearest Susurinth, our children are so very eager. Would I be foolish to hope I could burn all of this menace from the sky before it would reach your shore and their wings were large enough to carry them towards it?
No, he was sure any father would feel the same. He would have wrapped even his first clutch up safely in his wings to guard them, though it would have done them no good - and it was not his place to hold them back. So for now, he would hold the skies to keep the ground they were stuck on safe and sound.
M'nr chuckled, patting one of Cordrath's broad shoulders. You are not wrong to want to take care of them. I'm sure I would feel the same. And even with elderly parents, he did so. Though there was not much more than waited for him on the ground.
I recommend a weyrmate and a kid, then. It's very nice.
So you tell me.
Cordrath could be enough enamored for the both of them, for now.
Hattaki A loving thought to Susurinth.
