There had been dramatic kisses before Euryale and Theath took to the skies, and as they got into their position the redhead took the moment to check in on her dragon. It wasn't that long ago that the green's beloved Miryath had been injured (though now recovered) and it was obvious that Theath was radiating small amounts of anxiety. Hush, love. We'll be fine, and you can see her before she and A'star take off, okay? Naturally that thought was holding hard for Euryale too, as she wanted to be able to kiss her husband once more before he had to take to the skies.

You check in on your dragon to ensure they're doing all right. Thankfully, your dragon responds that they're feeling fine. All that training and practicing is coming full circle, as your dragon isn't feeling particularly fatigued. If they are suffering from a Fatigue Effect, they get a burst of renewed energy and the status is removed. [+1 Stamina] If your dragon isn't suffering, you are allowed to quote a fellow wingmate (must be in your same wing) who is suffering the effect! Your dragon trumpets at them encouragingly, making them feel better, and giving them a renewed burst of energy and effort. Remove Fatigue Effect from one wingmate!

There was silence before Theath finally responded. Yes, of course. We will be fine together as always, and Miryath is always with me. The anxiety didn't exactly lessen but it was a start as they moved to fight Thread. Both had loved ones waiting and they weren't about to let them down.

If Isilje were to be honest, she was terrified when the call was made to take to the air. It was time, and Fire Storm was low altitude at the start. That meant that she was flying with her Wing, and not the Queens. It was time. On to dragon back, and she launched in to the air, fingers clinging to her straps as her White bugled a vengeance, eager to go against thread. The White was ready, falling quickly in to formation, and taking a quick belch at a bit of thread that had dared come near one of the darling Greens of their Wing. Not on Brancath's watch you didn't.

The wind shouldn't have been this strong, this low. It surprised rider and dragon enough for the normally elegant Brancath to be thrown slightly off course with a huff of her displeasure. No, No no. This simply wouldn't do. As they were thrown towards some Thread, she tucked her wings, rolling both herself and Rider out of the way. Careful, love. Make sure my hood doesn't come off.
That is why you should have made sure your goggles were attached around your hood.

There, not too far off! The pair rushed towards the clump, vengeance in Brancath's orange-red eyes as the dragon belched flame. Too Early! Isilje was worried that they would miss, or fly in to the clump, but instead? Her White surprised her, burning the clump to ash and then gracefully turning on Wing. Time to go back to formation. This was simpler than last time.

Was today windier than usual or was Euryale imagining things? Of course it'd always be windy when they were up high, and the higher altitude would be even worse, but for now? A few other dragons around them seemed to be getting knocked here and there. It wasn't anything major, but then suddenly she felt the air around her shift violently. Theath wasn't a small green, but the pressure had been enough under her wings to send her moving. Theath! Thread! Having turned to see where they were going, there was no way the redhead would miss something like that.

I see it! I will avoid it! Theath moved quickly, her response time perfect enough that she was able to belch out flame and tear up the target. While it had been a bit close for comfort there was no need to worry and thus she kept the small thought to herself. The time for panic would come when she was on the ground, not in the air. Let us continue. She always sounded so professional and Euryale couldn't help but affectionately roll her eyes at the tone.

Zallea grabbed Illyriath’s saddle and with a whooping cry, they followed Fire Storm into the fray. As if equally eager, Thread seemed to head straight for them within seconds of being airborne. Out! Zallea ordered, but even the speed of thought was a millisecond too slow. She could feel the green’s ire rise as they hit Between and back, her tail lashing the ash off.

< Faster, > Illyriath hissed as she beat her wings. A few scars this soon, however light, was unacceptable.

Hold on tightly. Theath charged ahead at the sight of Thread, and Euryale moved and leaned with the motions of her dragon. First one, then two, clumps were completely destroyed in succession. It felt so good, so amazing to be flying, and Euryale was about to comment before Theath suddenly folded her wings and plummeted. The comment was replaced by an inward shriek, though it stopped once the clump that the green had been chasing was destroyed. There, all handled.

Theath I think I pissed myself. Euryale trembled a little, in both voice and body. Warn me next time! The dragon replied that she had given a warning, but Euryale's scolding continued anyway.

They didn't make it, and a loud shriek filled the air as the Thread wrapped itself against Theath's neck. The green's eyes instantly went white with terror and pain, and she attempted to jump Between in an effort to kill off what she could. Euryale, for her part, was hissing heavily at the Thread that ate away the pants and boots on her leg; the jump Between hadn't been entirely fast enough and she could feel her flesh being painfully devoured.

The pair popped back out mere ticks later, but the damage had been done. Theath's neck looked awful and Euryale wasn't sure if she'd be able to stand on her leg for the next sevenday or so. Shards, shells, JKHDFKD. She wasn't even able to think proper thoughts or words, as all her focus was on a dragon who was absolutely reeling in pain. Theath, calm down!! It's not that bad and we still have rounds to do! Stop, and calm down!!

The white remained in her dragon's eye, though Theath seemed to gain a small amount of control back. Her wounds stung, they burned so badly, and in a weak voice she called for comfort. My Miryath....your Theath needs your comfort. Euryale's firm grip prevented her from really saying anything else, though it was obvious through tone that she was pained.

Illyriath strained against her rider’s commands to keep in formation, teeth bared and fire a split second from belching forth. Zallea was about to turn her attention to a clump of Thread the upper layer missed, but the green suddenly lurched into a roll away.

Shards, good call, the woman said as the wind suddenly picked up. Had they gone for it...

There was always a risk with threadfall, especially for white dragons. Their stamina was poor, their frames were slight... So Amna made sure to touch base with Zunulth frequently, as if she wasn't innately aware of his feelings and status. Of course, this early on there was nothing wrong at all, though the white pinged out to check his wingmates as well.
