With a pop they were back from Between and in formation, his eyes swirled bright green despite his pain. He had all the stamina and strength to take a number of big hits, let him take them all if it saved smaller dragons like his Kinitarth. The name brought images to his mind and the brown sighed happily for the briefest of moments.

Don't daze off! Something's wrong!
F'nar said, his normally lazy tone sharp and the pair popped between to the coordinates he'd given. It helped them avoid a strand that would have tangled the pair up with one another.

Day 1
Roll 1: +1 Luck

Summer time. Aaaahhhh the wind and the thread and the chaos. Belia hated it all but she remembered a time when she did love summer, a time long before Thread had returned. Cozellath barrel rolled out of the way of a strand and seemed to scooch in a serpentine manner as quickly as she could forward. Her dragon loved fighting thread, but then she was a chaotic creature herself.

With a snap they both felt the danger at once and hopped Between, not even sparing a second of thought to it as they appeared above it within two breaths. It was quick, as quick as they both were naturally, but the green dipped down in what felt almost like a freefall and blasted that strand from the sky with a flash of indignation and red eyes before settling once more.

Once upon a time, Cozellath used to feel a bit irritated when thread would make it down to her, only a few turns back really. Now she had settled down to just blasting it out of the sky and thinking very little other than to rely on instinct and her wingmates.

Belia was smiling as Cozellath pulled up out of her second barrel roll, one that had helped the pair to avoid being knocked and tangled by some thread. She of course would love her tiny striped green endlessly until the moment their lives ended, but she would brag about her being the best too and no one could stop her.

Okay, now that was enough to irritate her. She took part of it back and with a surge she caught a thermal and buffeted her wings quickly so that she could blast all three of the clumps that had fallen through without letting them even fall below her position. Red threaded into her eyes and finally settled there to stay, likely for the rest of the fall.

Your dragon flames a small strand of thread, but unfortunately, a gust of wind blows the ash back into you. Your dragon hisses in pain, and if your face isn't protected, you might get a burn yourself! Thankfully, the burn isn't severe, and your dragon at least can carry on. [+1 Pain Resilience // -2 HP]

As another clump of Thread disintegrated directly in front of them, C'mric ducked his head to shield himself from the worst of the still sizzling ash. He felt the sting against his forehead, but the worst of the pain passed a moment later and he lifted his head again.

Orthoth shook himself, jouncing his rider around a bit in not-alarming ways and bugled his frustration. I DO NOT LIKE THREAD!

Ash'il had risen with the rest of his wing, as they were given the signal to go. He gave Iptoneth their coordinates, feeling the cold touch of Between as they leapt in and then back out to the low altitude. Even though things were usually calmer down here, the wingsecond was not about to let his guard down. In fact, he caught sight of some thread, right when they arrived. He directed Iptoneth to it, which the bronze sent a flame in that direction. Ash'il winced, that was a little sooner than he had planned and he felt the flame would miss. However, it seemed it was longer and and lasted longer than he expected, the clump being reduced to ashes.

You really didn't think I couldn't manage, did you?Iptoneth chuckled.

Okay, okay, I am impressed, his rider admitted, shaking his head wryly.

Ash'il continued to keep his eyes roving the skies, still on alert for any problems. That is when he noticed a clump of Thread falling and he quickly instructed Iptoneth to blast it from the sky. His bronze was happy to oblige as he sent his flame flying, reducing it to ash.

There is one less problem for the queens or the ground crew,Iptoneth spoke proudly, getting a nod of agreement from his rider.

Ash'il knew it was still early in the Flight, but he wanted to make sure Iptoneth was doing alright. He patted the bronze's neck gently, making sure the other wasn't too tired. He knew the other was usually pretty good about pacing himself, but also knew it did happen sometimes.

Don't worry, Mine, I am doing wonderfully. I told you we were prepared for this, didn't I? Though, I am sure there is probably one of the smaller dragons of the wing who might need to be reminded of such,Iptoneth thought to his rider. Then he gave a bugle of encouragement to one of the wing, who looked like they were tiring.

Ash'il thought he was prepared, but it seemed not as well as he wanted to be. He noticed a small clump as it hit his left arm and his dragon's neck, causing both to scream in pain. The wingsecond thought of Between and felt his dragon instantly jump into that coldness. As they popped back into their place, both were feeling the pain from that one.

Now don't say I told you so,Iptoneth tried to joke to his rider through the pain.

Ash'il had a feeling of something being wrong, though he wasn't exactly sure what. However, he looked over his shoulder and noticed a small strand of Thread drifting a little too close to his dragon for comfort. Nope, not again, they were not going to get scored so soon after that last hit. Thankfully, even though they both were feeling that last hit, Iptoneth picked up on Ash'il's thoughts and jumped Between. They came back a little higher, the strand missing them.

Least we didn't get hit again, huh?Iptoneth spoke as calmly as he could. He knew that had been a little too close.

Your dragon dives for a strand of thread that has fallen through the upper wings. Sure enough, a gust of wind would have whipped the thread back in their face! Instead, the strand whips by, and your dragon is able to successfully flame it. [+1 Instinct]

Despite his dislik for the stuff, Orthoth wasn't about to iet any of the smelly, sticky burning stuff survive if he could help it, so he dove after a clump that others had missed.

But wait. There was something about the wind. The sound of it changed abruptly...

And C'mric yelped as the big bronze did an entirely unannounced barrel roll as he wind picked up and flung the clump of Thread they'd been chasing directly back into the space they'd just been. C'mric's mind was still scrambling to process what had happened when Orthoth belched forth another gout of flame and blasted the would-be attacker to bits.

They were going to be fine. D'zrak's confidence was, in fact, bordering on arrogance, but why wouldn't he be? Slidrainth was a bit less eager, not at all pleased by the prospect of pain and scoring... Still, as Thread lazily rode the air currents in front of them, the small bronze let out an impressive stream of fire, searing them all with ease.
