"Okay Shigeko. After we win our fight, lets meet right here!" Would be the last things Sute would say to Shigeko before they officially departed each other. Shigeko was right about one thing, Sute would be able to win this fight. Though the girl did take her words seriously as Sute knew that she wasn't a physical fighter. The years of malnourishment left her bones as if they were made of glass. A weakness she couldn't really help much besides keeping an opponent away from her. Sute really just hoped that she wasn't going to be against someone of the Sky district. The girl knew that they were generally a lot stronger than her given how much she got shoved around by them in her day to day life. If she were put against a sky student, her chances of survival were likely null.

"Sute." The name rang in the girls ears as it was announced she was one of the first matches. Why did she have to go first? Out of so many students she was one of the first people picked. Sute held her breath as she waited to hear her opponents name. Luck would at least not put her against a sky district child. Unfortunately another girl around Sute's age was put against a sky district kid. Not just anyone from the sky district, but Shigeko. It almost felt as some strange trick of fate was being put into play. Sute couldn't help but wonder what would have happened had Shigeko had to go against Sute in the same scenario. Would be able to win? Not likely. Would Shigeko have the heart to kill such a young girl? It seemed Sute would receive an answer to this question as the two were placed in fighting pits directly next to each other. Sute would attempt to lock eyes with Shigeko, slight confusion and worry on her face as she stepped onto the platform.

Her worried look moved towards Junichi, a boy that sute wasn't completely familiar with and didn't necessarily want to get to know. "Please don't kill me... you're too big!..." The girl sobbed as the young boy made his way toward her. Sute hoped that she may be able to gain some traction with the boy by playing to his better nature, but his response of wanting to serve Lord Satoshi pretty much squashed what Sute had hoped would happen. The charge followed immediately by the shout threw her off guard slightly. 'Of course they gave them the better stuff.' Sute thought to herself as she clumsily dodged. [ E-Rank Dodge ] She managed to get away from the blade for the most part, except the very edge managed to slice her side as she moved. The girl stumbled to the floor, dirtying up her hands and knees some. Sute laid there a moment on her hands and knees before lifting one of her hands to her pocket. Sute would pull a kunai from the pocket and immediately throw it behind herself. [ E-Rank Kunai Throw ] As it was thrown she would take off to give herself some distance from Junichi. "Leave me alone!" Sute cried out as she ran, tears beginning to scream down her face. Her tears were partially fake and real from the adrenaline of having to fight for her life. All she knew was she had to fight smart or she'd die then and there. Once sute was confident she had gained some distance, the girl turned on her heels to launch another kunai at the boy. The user's strings are visible unless masked by an additional technique or a stealth node device. Moreover, strings will remain active until cancelled or broken by the user or another capable force. Once connected, puppets can travel anywhere within a single thread. This technique is considered basic. Does not require chakra to maintain.

M A K O
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Amegakure | Student

While the other students had been going about their regular daily routine of study, Mako was having an entirely different experience. The young thug wasn’t even actually a student. The misfortunate Oni had been a bruiser for a street gang, picked up by the police in a raid almost a week ago that had ended with a bloody confrontation. Since then, Mako had been rotting in a jail cell licking her wounds. Little did she know some unseen benefactor had been amused by her resistance during the confrontation and negotiated her conditional release. The brawler had shown potential as a tool for Amegakure, all she had to do to secure her release was survive that academy trials. Of course, none of this was relayed to Mako, instead she was left in that dark cell until one morning a couple of officers came and dragged her out kicking and screaming. A display that promptly earned her some disciplining. After a few sharp blows her struggling weakened though not before she managed to draw some blood. One of the officers had gotten his hand a little too close to her mouth, a mistake she made him pay for dearly. With a couple more blows for good measure the officers dragged her off to what she assumed was a death sentence.

The gallows would not be the young criminal’s destination today. Mako was rather surprised to find herself delivered to some sort of school? She had no idea this was the academy, never had she set foot outside of the cistern sector. The officers promptly dragged her into the building without explanation, a sight that drew some whispers and barbed comments from some of the students in the halls. Mako couldn’t help but notice how well dressed some of these individuals looked. She knew the look of someone flaunting their wealth all too well but this was on a whole different level to a pimp in the slums. Defiant as ever all she could do was bare her fangs, growl and thrash about as thinly veiled insults were thrown her way. However, all that managed to do was earn her another blow to the back of the head.

Eventually Mako was led to the arena and just in time for instructor’s announcement. Suddenly everything made sense. Mako was brought here as fodder for one of these students. A devilish grin spread across her bruised face. She couldn’t help but feel sorry for the poor b*****d that would face off against her. While she was little more than a rabid attack dog compared to these young shinobi in training, she had one big advantage. She absolutely towered above all the other students, in fact she was a little taller than the guards that escorted her in. It was a hard scene to miss, a bruised and bloodied green haired Oni dragged in kicking and screaming. Her outfit was in just as poor condition as she was, tattered and stained with blood from the confrontation that had landed her here. It was obvious to anyone who looked upon the giant that she was a rat dragged from the cistern.

Oddly enough the instructions seemed to calm and focus Mako. Now that she knew what this was she was in her element, after all she had spent her whole life fighting and clawing her way to better position. The officers released the Oni, bowed to their lord viewing high above and stepped back to a position near the door. Mako hardly took notice of any of the other students reading themselves aside from a curious glance towards the other Oni, she hadn’t encountered many of her kind so that was enough to draw her eye. She moved over to the rather pitiful armoury they had prepared for those of the cistern class and couldn’t help but chuckle looking at those sad little knives. Figuring she could do more damage with her fists she didn’t bother to arm herself and instead went to observe the fights already underway. Her attention was drawn to the rather pitiful display of some malnourished child getting beaten on by a much better equipped opponent. The little girl didn’t have much hope but Mako had to admit to herself she was putting up a good fight all things considered. Despite the blood and tears freely flowing she was still fighting, that kind of spirit counted for a lot in Mako’s books. The violence on display was starting to get her blood pumping, she lived for this kind of thing and couldn’t wait for her turn. The brutish Oni was practically bouncing with anticipation. A sick grin of excitement was plastered across her face as she watched the fight intently. What a wonderful day this was turning out to be.

And just like that it was time to begin. Poppy watched the fights below with a look of disinterest, as if there was nothing better to watch so she might as well. The girl leaned over the railing and tried to take note of who all was fighting. Most notably the young Academy Student saw the two girls from earlier begin their matches. The one in purple (Sute, Poppy supposed) was already in action and it seemed the child was already begging for mercy. “What a shock, the loudmouth one was all talk.” Poppy muttered aloud after popping a gum bubble. She shifted her gaze to Shigeko’s fight in time to see that the Oni’s opponent was doing the same as Sute. “You’d think they weren’t ready to kill.” She was speaking to no-one in particular, just voicing her thoughts. The girl slid a lock of hair out of her face and put it behind her ear before her gaze went to one last place. To where the Amekage sat, and another young girl talking to him. "Pathetic.” Poppy muttered.

Achana smirked behind the cover of her respirator mask. The gesture could be spotted with perceptive eyes as her cheeks obviously moved upward with the display of the confident grin. So the ones in charge were taking her proposition seriously? Good. She was a member of a rather wealthy family, and one with a drive to push their own to be ambitious to the point of almost feverous pursuit of grandeur. "My Lord, I became your weapon to use as you see fit the moment I started my training. If you cannot have faith in me now, how can you ever? If I die, I was never of any use to begin with.", she asked curiously before bowing her head low in a formal display of respect. "Please, let me test myself against the most dangerous enemy... One with nothing to lose, and everything to gain.", Achana said as she looked back up with a hopeful glean in those eyes of hatred and manic desire to conquer, challenge, and evolve.

It was clear that even behind the veil of her momentary lucidity, thoughts of how Achana might manipulate this situation to her advantage were ticking like cogs in a wicked machine built to do nothing but claw and climb its way to the top. Using anything and everything before her as a stepping stone to her subconscious drive to step on the world and grind it beneath her boot. But at the same time, it was the lethal sincerity in her actions along with the show of admitted loyalty to a point she would be willing to throw herself away if ordered that only seemed to affirm her grooming and training had been a success. They did not need the Illusion Grid to keep such a hierophant to the cause in check.

To her, nothing more could have been fulfilling, that was until Toso asked a question that simply irked her. As much as he seemed to analyze her every fiber since she made herself known. But no matter how much he seemed to attempt to get a reaction, it was the lethal aura that came from him that only kept her reigned in. 'Yes...This is what I wish to become. Evolve and grow, devour and consume until I can instill in others what I feel now...', Achana thought as her split personality disorder seemed to carry on a mental conversation with itself. "Sir, beyond servitude to your superiors...if one does not live for themselves, they become the prey, not the predator. They will fall from the apex of the pecking order, and forgive me...but such a fall would be worse than death, at least to me.", she explained to the Hojo.

Achana then raised a hand and clenched a fist as if to demonstrate crushing something. "It matters little to me how capable the scum are at tearing each other apart. Only that despite their successes, they remain beneath me.", the Kurama-clanswoman remarked pointedly before turning her attention to the students fighting, taking time to get a look at each one in their mortal struggle to emerge from the crucible of the Academy's most brutal ritual. To rise up as weapons for The Village just as she had.

User ImageThe ramblings of a certain other academy student caught Angelica's attention. The small girl had come from her designated waiting area to these spectator boxes with the rest of the academy students, and having noone to sit with, she had chosen to stand before the railings, peeking through the bars at the fights below. Chance would have it that she stood next to Poppy, who she had begun watching instead of the fights in a mixture of curiosity and interest. There was an odd sort of kinship she felt with this other girl who spoke her thoughts aloud like she did.

And starved as she was for any sort of friendly human connection, Angelica quietly, hesitantly reached out with her words, "What are you talking about?". If she could, she would have reached out with her hands, too, to tug on the sleeve of the other student and get her attention, but something like that, the small child was too scared of being hated to do. Thus, instead, her hands continued to clench her umbrella, but with a grip that twisted and tightened with her suppressed urge.

Dressed up in fine garments like a delicate doll and looking for all the world like she had never had to experience a single day of hard labor, nothing needed to be said about which sect Angelica came from. The child of an affluent family opened her mouth to ask more, "Are you scared? For the people you know?". White hair bobbed with the slight tilt of Angelica's head to the side as she waited and then there were the blue eyes. Blue eyes that held Poppy in their vision with, at best, a tenuous grip. The slid from her to look behind her, at the Amekage and his entourage. Which among them she spoke ill of, or perhaps it was all, she was uncertain. This, too, she was curious for, but for all the world, her expression remained as blank as the feelings she had towards this speculation. Merely observing, her thoughts muttered aloud without her knowledge, the small Angelica gave away, "Ah, Lica thinks that is a daughter of the Sonozaki family..."

Eyes returned to Poppy at the end of it all, though. She was still interested in her answers, evidently.

Steam Oni

The dull gaze of her red eye was shifted from the floor and toward the gathering spectators, quick to feel a sense of irritation amongst her muddled feeling. She was apparently to be fighting someone around her own age in a struggle with her very life on the line, yet the entire thing had been turned into a giant spectacle of some sort. Sure if the parents of a student were to come then it made sense, the Kage himself and some of his close confidants was also within reason…. the rest of them were the real problem, a blaring theatre of staring eyes from any and every direction, making this all extremely public. The worst part of the audience that she unconsciously scanned for while looking were sitting in one of the upper class booths of the sky sector, a burning shame and feelings of resentment and duty coming across her all at once, eyes narrowing and a frown forming on her face.

There all decked out in loud colours and useless jewelry was her adoptive “Father” with one of his favourite working girls on one side and Shigekos mother on his other. The of them were pressed up closed to him as he expected of them, though Shigekos mother was leaning in a manner that appeased him and also gave her some space to look down to focus on her daughter, likely with that look of worry she often offered Shigeko when concerned. Her father didn’t seem much bothered and was clearly intent on enjoying himself, the young oni acutely aware that he must have known about what was coming to the academy and brought his mother on purpose, to psych Shigeko out so as to make things much harder on her as she knew that her mother would be highly distressed from this whole situation, ******** b*****d. That man was nothing but a scourge in her life, a false father figure that had them taken from their home and to this rain filled city of steel and prejudice, pampered and pruned while her mother was defiled and kept a pretty taste of what that man was waiting for and a chain to trap Shigeko into the bleak and predetermined path she had no say in…. but she had a say now and would force this path to change, with the only chance she had.

This attempt to trip her up had failed it had done nothing but infuriate and remind the Oni of why she was here even more, a fire of determination lit inside her that handed her the resolve and assurance she felt she needed to resolve her moral dilemma. If someone needed to die so that she might live and create a potentially better future for her mother, she would do it, no matter how hard it might be or guilt ridden and tainted her psyche may end out, she would take that damage grimly and without, that was her resolve as the siren roared to indicate that things were beginning. She felt that it was fortunate that of the first batch of names, her own was called and some relief over the fact that it hadn’t been so in a way that put her against Sute, a young girl like her likely a different story to her determined decision but she was confidently safe from that problem now.

Starring up with a semi defiant and intent filled looked toward her parents stand, both trying to reassure her mother and establish that her fathers stunt hadn’t affected her in the way her wanted…. and perhaps this is why she didn’t pick up on the sort of smile he was returning her, or perhaps she just couldn’t tel at this distance, which left her with no inklings. The sword was still sheathed and gripped around the centre point, carried in one of her hands as opposed to worn, the oni intent on using it as a bludgeon before drawing the blade immediately as the round began and had deepened and intensified her breathing in preparation of immediate explosion action, getting her mind ready like a football player, turning toward the ring with a focused glare. Despite her mental preparation Shigeko adopted a mostly casual posture out of habit, one leg positioned slightly further back and partially poised with the heel raises to push off of the moment she needed to, her slightly baggy clothes hiding most of the subtle hints that his muscles were slightly tensed, ready to move the moment she could meet her opponents eyes. She would end this fast and hard and used the motivation and energy that she had managed to draw upon, ready to do what she must to plow forward and create her new path, everything seemingly slow down as the opposite gate opened as if her senses increasing to let her move the very instant they stepped through, Shigeko able to see the light just beyond it and her opponent position, the bright future she would earn starting now.

These feelings were cut short just like the metaphorical and literal light just beyond the other gate as it screeched and slammed shut like the brakes on Shigekos decision, her concentration and mindset derailed like a train as a rare look of absolute shock crossed her face as she stared in disbelief. She was shaken to the point it made her feel sick, her opponents words reaching her ears and Shigeko only able to slowly shake her head left and right to show she didn’t know how to answer the girls question. She was unable to speak because this girl was one she knew to a degree, the oni commonly offering some limited medical services or supplies to people in the Cistern sector had seen this one girl a lot over the space of a month the year prior, her name was Luna. Luna was one such person she had helped, Shigeko having treated and supplied the medicines for the girl when she suffered a severe lung disease, she was meek but bubbly and was someone the Oni never would have imagined applying to be a shinobi, let alone meeting her as an opponent. The Onis face hardened slightly and became slightly grim as her thoughts erupted and span due to her reaching a psychological crisis, Luna was in tears and terrified as she’d come here to do her best, not expecting a struggle like this…. actually in this scenario specifically the girls struggles were meaningless, she was basically put here to die.

With the added realization she wasn’t even in a real fight, the sounds of everything blended together as the only stood implacable and unmoving as everything inside her head raced, it was like she was underwater, the only clear some being Luna, her own scrambling thoughts and everything else….. no there was one more thing. The sound she picked up on throughout all the combine noise of peoples speaking, yelling and other things was laughter, a particular laugh she recognized from her home life here in the Rain. As Luna pleaded at her parents Shigekos eyes lit up as she turned her head toward her parents booth yet again, locking eyes with the cackling man that was her father as he met her look and nodded at her with a vindictive, confirming grin… he had made this happen. Her face very rapidly mirrored her feelings as she gritted and bared her teeth on one side, her body visibly tensing up and face reddening slightly with the burn of fury, her head beginning to hurt as she was well above her stress or coping threshold, this b*****d was toying with her in such a viscous scenario, she never met monsters like this before this city, nor had she ever hated anyone so much and because of this rage she didn’t realize that Luna had succumbed to the distress and went for Shigeko, quite suddenly brining Shigekos attention to the arena.

It was sudden almost like someone had punched directly on her second rib, it stung and made her turn and look down as the little girl attempting and partially succeeding in stabbing the Oni. The big issue going against this strike was that Shigeko was wearing armour underneath her hoodie, she didn’t but Luna would like have heard the thud of resistance, the kunai having barely penetrated severe millimetres of her actual skin. Still it was enough to bring her attention down on Luna, piercing red eye glaring down at the girl as her tearing psyche added this into her mental dilemma and push her the step to far. If Luna had been meeting Shigekos eyes then she would very likely see the moment the crack appeared in the Onis psyche as Shigeko quite swiftly grabbed the wrist holding the kunai and beginning to bend the limb away from where she had been pierced, grip tightening as the limb would be pulled away(E-rank grapple). The final push wasn’t related to a Shigekos family but was from the sound and sight of Sutes fight which the Oni notice from where she stood, Sute running and fighting defensively to protect herself… at least that how Shigeko saw it… and an immediate comparison was made and she spoke two simple word as the cracks in her mind gave out and a decision was reached ”I see.”

These words would hold no meaning to any who actually heard them, most of all the little girl who she gripped who Shigeko had just decided to kill, her newly added justifications at this point being that Luna did try to kill her, even out of desperation….. and the other was that Shigeko compared the girl to Sute who the Onis mistaken perception of, deemed to be actually innocent and that Sute would not have tried to strike Shigeko first should her and Lunas rolls be changed. The results of this internal and radical decision would be quite sudden and despite the coldness that now found it’s way into her eyes, it was rather difficult to make herself do, the hand holding the sheathed weapon would lash out with a very sudden swing of her arm, the hilt of the weapon aimed would club into the side of Lunas head, with the hope of knocking her out, if not dazing her in the process, Shigeko even channeling some of her unique chakra that produced a burst of steam with the motion that accelerated the strike(Complex E-rank hilt strike, presume if the grapple is broken Shigeko steps forward to do this.). Regardless of the strikes success or failure, Shigeko would start to walk purposely toward Luna while unsheathing the blade and throwing the sword aside, Shigeko speaking as she did with a deathly tone ”Im sorry it’s like this Luna, if you give up, I will make it peaceful, it’ll be like going to sleep and I won’t have to use this blade.. Please.Make.The.Easy.Choice.Luna!!!” Her pupils shrank as her voice shook with near manic instability as the Oni spoke and bore down on the girl. Shigeko despite her current mental chaos was used to dealing with people being unreasonable or desperate… normally drunk but it still made her a wary person, Shigeko studying Lunas posture so as to move and counter any other attempts at hostility (concentration.), trying to sideline the guilt that wanted to force her to stop, burying it beneath the attempt to make this quick.

▱▰▱Satoshi listened to Achana's reasoning and nodded approvingly. It seemed that the matter would resolve itself nicely. There was also the benefit of testing her skills and manipulating those from the lower districts. "Just as the rain flows from the heavens to the ground before seeping beneath the ground, so too does the wealth of our glorious village. You shall be allowed to accomplish this task and have the opportunity to sharpen yourself with the potential of your opponent to possibly rise to the sky." The Amekage responded in the affirmative to Achana's desires before returning his attention to the games below. He was given a wine glass filled with viscous indigo liquid. Satoshi imbibed from the goblet as his lips continued to be dyed blue from the toxic wine. The Amekage felt himself loosen up as he offered a sip of his beloved Yorujozo to Soyeon. He enjoyed the minor hallucinations that intoxicating himself with the shadowfoot oni wine allowed. It was the perfect accompaniment for what he was entertaining himself with at the academy.

▱▰▱Ever since the Illusion Grid was activated, Junichi had ambitions of joining KASA to better serve his idol, the Amekage. He focused on bukijutsu and genjutsu techniques so that he would ace the KASA exam eventually and he would not let this impoverished girl stand in his way. When she ran away from him and threw the two kunai in his direction she would suddenly see him dash forward. He rushed toward her as haunting violet chakra coated his body and caused him to move in a blur from Sute's perspective. This also allowed him to avoid the simple projectiles with ease. "I'm going to present your heart to the Amekage!" He spoke with a sense of demented conviction that could only be afforded to someone under the complete hypnosis of the Infinite Tsukuyomi. As he shouted at Sute, he channeled even more haunting indigo chakra into his sword before using it to try carving Sute's chest open. He then leaned in and tried to use his other hand to rip her still-beating heart from her chest if possible.

▰ Phantom Rush [ Yūrei no Zenshin ] | Rank E | Complex
The user channels chakra into their feet, enhancing their movement by five feet per rank of the technique. Any single sword style technique or basic combat skill executed from this skill has their speed increased and strength increased by [1] per rank. Opponents slower than the user by a [2] stat points difference are unable to see actions beyond a blur when the advancement and conjoined technique are made.

▰ Phantom Blade [ Yūrei no Ha ] | Rank X | Complex
A technique closely resembling the Samurai's Saber Technique. The user coats their weapon in a haunting demonic appearing chakra, creating a solid blade of chakra atop their original blade with up to a one foot extension. This technique requires an upkeep cost of two ranks below the executed rank with an E Rank minimum. In addition, the user is able to swing their blade, allowing it to send the chakra blade coating their own flying five feet per rank of the technique. Objects containing chakra that are sliced with this skill while attached to the user's real weapon have chakra absorbed equal to the upkeep cost of this technique and is automatically used to pay for the next posts upkeep.

▱▰▱Yuna rolled out of the way when Shigeko attempted to grab her (E-Rank dodge). When she saw her kunai pierce Shigeko's hoody she shook her head and the tears flew off of her face as she expressed regret. "I'm sorry!" She was too inexperienced to know that Shigeko was protected by her armor and was not harmed by her attack. Nevertheless, Yuna was saddened that she had to hurt her friend to protect herself. Her hands were trembling as she retrieved some shuriken from her thigh pouch. Yuna threw them as Shigeko to knock her hand off course from the hilt strike and also to cause damage (E-Rank shuriken throw against hilt strike). Her crying only intensified as Shigeko spoke to her but Yuna only felt that she was crying in the dark with nobody there to hear. The entire world was collapsing on her and she could not comprehend that the world would keep moving in a manner indifferent to her suffering. "I can't! I wanna see my mommy and daddy and little brother and sister again! I'm not ready to die! Please!" This was her defiant response to Shigeko as the fear of death overwhelmed the child's soul. Yuna was breaking down completely as she trembled and sobbed beyond control. She began shrieking as she looked away from Shigeko who was scaring her. She looked to her mother again as she kept screaming with true fear. "Mommy please! PLEASE don't let her do this! Do something!" When her mother continued sitting in her seat, unphased by her daughter's cries under the crow eye's gaze from the sky, Yuna looked back at Shigeko. "I don't wanna keep hurting you! Just please stop! I give up! Just let me go! You can win and I'll never become a kunoichi, please!" Yuna entered the bargaining stage of grief as she pleaded with Shigeko for her life. All Yuna wanted was to live and for this nightmare to end as the tears flowed endlessly from her.

Weapon Specs
Weapon Name: Kagekiken no Gensō [ 歌劇剣 の 幻想, Illusory Opera Sword ]
Weapon Type: Cutlass
Weapon Size: 27 inches long/1 inch wide
Bukijutsu Classification: Medium Blade
Weapon Weight: 3 lbs
Stats Increase: +2 Agility, +2 Speed
Elemental Affinity: Miasma, Fire
Description: Kagekiken no Gensō is a haunted legendary blade that is infamous for "making fictions real" with a three-act drama that is based on illusory genjutsu and manifests as simple games. The first act represents a great hero who embarks on his journey but is forced to confront the darkness of his own psyche and that of his traitorous companions. The second act represents when the hero overcomes the betrayal and hides from the beast he was sent to kill. The third and final act details how the hero slays the beast, defeats the dark forces, and saves the kingdom. All genjutsu manifested by Kagekiken itself are holographic in nature meaning that everyone in its presence who detects the trigger including the wielder is subject to the rules of the play unless they release themselves. All performances are choreographed games meaning that there is a determined fate behind what occurs and it is not a gamble.Kagekiken has a dark blue katana hilt and bronze tsuba that deceptively indicates that it is a katana when sheathed but when unsheathed the blade is revealed to be a cutlass.
Ability Summary:
Act I: The Shadow Game [ Dai Ichi: Kage Gēmu ] | Rank X | Genjutsu [ Miasma ] | Cost [ Spritual ]
Category: Illusory
Primary Sense: Sight
Additional Senses: Touch, Sound
Base Duration: 10 Posts
Upkeep: 20 Chakra
Trigger: Acknowledging Miasma From Blade
Source: Holograms
Status Effect: Insanity
Description: The wielder creates a thick "curtain" of purple miasma generated through the blade. If the miasma is viewed, inhaled, or acknowledged in any other way then they are placed under the rules of Kagekiken's shadow game including the wielder, allies, and enemies alike. The shadow game is that anyone whose shadow is stepped on by another player becomes insane. One tier higher insanity compared to the rank of the genjutsu is applied to those whose shadow was stepped on. Players can hide in their shadow and shrink it down to half its size or grow it to double its size. The shadow of Kagekiken can cut the shadow of another to seemingly cause the same injury on their actual body. Those who lose the shadow game become more insane and susceptible to additional fictions.
Act II. Hide and Seek [ Dai Nii: Kakurenbō ] | Rank X | Genjutsu | Spiritual
Category: Illusory
Primary Sense: Sight
Additional Senses: Touch
Base Duration: 10 Posts
Upkeep: 20 Chakra
Trigger: Acknowledging Violet Light From Blade
Source: Holographic
Status Effect: Mental Stress
Description: The cutlass is covered in haunting and blaring violet light that when acknowledged begins the second act of the opera. All players including the user start with the first tier of mental stress. Expending 10 chakra allows violet light to consume any player including the user and opponent to cloak them in invisibility. Using combat actions causes the hider to be revealed. Invisibility does not consume an action so players can weave in and out of invisibility with ease. When a player makes physical contact with another it makes the other player "found" and raises their tier of mental stress by one. The player that reaches the fourth tier of mental stress first loses the game and is affected by genjutsu at [1] sense higher for the rest of the battle.
Act III. Make Believe [ Dai San: Itsuwari ] | Rank X | Genjutsu [ Miasma ] | Spiritual
Category: Illusory
Primary Sense: Sight
Additional Senses: Sound, Touch
Base Duration: 10 Posts
Upkeep: 20 Chakra
Trigger: Acknowledging Illusory Fog
Source: Holographic
Status Effect: Insanity
Description: A purple fog (can be substituted for miasma) originates from Kagekiken over the entire area (topix) and acknowledgment of the fog begins the game. Because of the illusionary nature of the fog, it can be blasted away but will cover the area immediately and seems to constantly replace itself. In the fog's denseness, there are passing phantoms of monstrous yokai. While in the fog, players can create [1] X-Ranked monster per post of their own imagination using their own chakra. The created monster can use basic combat attacks against another player's monster. When a player's monster dies a tiered amount of insanity based on the chakra rank of the monster inflicts the creator. If a monster harms a player's body they believe the injuries are real.

Poison Specs
Drug Name: Yorujozo (夜の醸造, Yoru no jōzō, Night Brew)
Drug Type: Poison
Drug Tier: Legendary | Tier 4
Drug Form: Liquid | Gas
Narcotic Description: Yorujozo is a violet alcoholic brew created by the Shadowfoot Tribe of oni who live in the black forest (Kuro Shinrin) of the Land of Fire. These oni are born with gray skin that turns violet from the amount of Yorujozo they consume. Regular consumption of Yorujozo can turn the lips violet while constant intake dyes the body's skin. Yorujozo is highly toxic and hallucinogenic. The Shadowfoot oni consider the liquid sacred because consumption of it gives them otherworldly visions which aid in deciphering prophecies, a central aspect of the tribe's culture. The brew is highly sedative as well and helps the consumer sleep while also delivering the typical effects of alcohol. The brew is made from the inky purple leaves of the black forest's trees. Newborn Shadowfoot oni are fed a single leaf to allow them to consume Yorujozo without harm. Those who ingest this rare leaf become immune to Yorujozo's toxicity while retaining the psychedelic and alcoholic effects. Yorujozo is a viscous liquid of violet coloring that flows like honey and creates illusory fumes. It tastes as foul as ink when it hits the tongue but has a sweet and pleasant taste when swallowed. It can easily be made into gas and applied to miasma techniques. Yorujozo when it poisons a target is highly sedative and reduces speed greatly. It causes insanity and intense hallucinations psychologically. Physically the poison turns the skin violet and necrotic while causing the eyes to shake and is intensely disorienting. The rare black forest leaves that are used to brew this poison can be used as an acutely efficacious antidote.

• Reduces speed by 8.
• Subtracts 160 chakra and stamina from reserves. (If cured immediately, this effect does not apply.)
• Continually Deducts 40 chakra and stamina until cured.
• Because it is an oni brew all status effects are one tier lower in effectiveness against oni:
• Insanity | Tier 4
▱▰▱• Reduces agility by 8 until cured or the insanity-inducing genjutsu is dispelled.
▱▰▱• The caster can add [4] phantasms (sensory hallucinations) to any additional genjutsu until cured or the insanity-inducing genjutsu is dispelled. Cannot go beyond the [5] sense limit.
• Disease | Tier 4
▱▰▱• Bukijutsu and Taijutsu are 1-rank weaker.
▱▰▱• Increase the cost of all techniques by [40].
• Vertigo | Tier 4
▱▰▱• Evasive maneuvers cost [80] additional resource.
▱▰▱• Shunshin can be used but are disoriented and cause the user to end up somewhere else, Shunshin and Kawarimi cause nausea reducing activation and additionally causes the user to fall on the ground.

Personal Attributes
▱▰▱ Crow Eye | When a young Satoshi looked through the lens of fate to see his prophecy, his right eye was taken as a price. This eye has been nicknamed his "crow eye" because it was cursed by the crow king Yatagarasu in exchange for the prophecy. This crow eye is connected to the eyes of Yogen, the personal summon of Satoshi who has been fate bound to his summoner. Satoshi's crow eye and Yogen's eyes will often glow in unison. The crow eye's appearance is a ghastly violet that glows when it is not covered by an eyepatch. When the sharingan is used through the crow eye it appears to have blackened sclera and glowing purple tomoe and pupils. When the crow eye is in use it causes throbbing headache pain and is more susceptible to blindness. Mangekyo skills used through the crow eye are reduced by [1] use before the blindness status is inflicted. For example, if a technique can be used twice before blindness happens then in the crow eye it could only be used once meaning that the eye goes blind faster. However, the cursed crow eye is maddening when gazed upon as when a genjutsu is cast through it the eye glares with extremely bright violet light and inflicts insanity equal to the rank of the technique.
▱▰▱ Demonic Shroud | When an E-Rank amount of chakra is applied to Satoshi's natural chakra materialization it becomes even more realistic and haunting. Viewing the fog acts as the trigger for genjutsu and counts as eye contact for sharingan genjutsu/hypnosis if his sharingan is active. Alternatively, if no genjutsu is cast then viewing the shroud merely causes first-tier mental stress or insanity. This is not a technique and does not cost an activation.
▱▰▱ Illusory Prowess | This attribute allows any and all genjutsu to be cast through eye contact with the Uchiha. In addition, the genjutsu cast in this manner have the sight sense added to them at C Rank body. At S Rank body, the user's genjutsu are given the chakra sense. Also, mental stress or insanity can be added to any genjutsu cast through eye contact for an additional fifty percent chakra cost.
▱▰▱ Genetic Palette | With intensive genetic therapy and strong blood, this character is able to possess more than one transplant. This allows the character up to two transplants total, of any of the three categories.
Illusory Prowess: This attribute allows any and all genjutsu to be cast through eye contact with the Uchiha. In addition, the genjutsu cast in this manner have the sight sense added to them at C Rank body. At S Rank body, the user's genjutsu are given the chakra sense. Also, mental stress or insanity can be added to any genjutsu cast through eye contact for an additional fifty percent chakra cost.
▱▰▱ Get Thee Back into the Tempest | Satoshi is granted the wind element.
▱▰▱ Phantom Master | Satoshi is able to add an additional sense to the illusory images created by his signature style of Phantom Slayer and custom techniques based upon it for a maximum of [2] senses. The images are sight-based and thus always have that sense but [2] additional senses like touch and sound can be added.
▱▰▱ Amaterasu’s Cloak | All fire based techniques produced by the Uchiha are considered bloodline techniques. The flames are turned black and fire based techniques are reduced by 5 chakra per rank with a minimum of 5 chakra to be paid for a technique. For each rank of a technique, it's flames burn actively for one post or one additional post if a limit is given.
▱▰▱ Melee Prodigy | The user obtains a [1] point increase to agility while their sharingan is active for each body rank they have obtained. In addition, the user's first physical offensive activation every three posts gains a [1] point increase to speed per rank of their body, also requiring the eyes to be active.
▱▰▱ Mirror Master | Satoshi is able to add an additional sense to the illusory images created by the Mirror Image Art taijutsu style and custom techniques based upon it for a maximum of [2] senses. The images are sight-based and thus always have that sense but [2] additional senses like touch and sound can be added.
▱▰▱ Lore of the Crows | As a crow sage, Satoshi is able to read the ancient written crow language in the crow contract scroll and learn the secrets of their genjutsu. As a result, in combat, non-instance genjutsu cast by Satoshi in combat last for one post longer for no upkeep cost for each actively summoned crow on the battlefield (maximum of 5) as long as he is the contract holder.
▱▰▱ Violet Delerium | The user excels at Genjutsu that is used with the clan's miasma. The user gains 4 additional genjutsu per body rank. In addition, their genjutsu cast by using the miasma as a source or trigger may add an additional sense to the illusion. The user gains an additional 2 custom slots to be used for Genjutsu involving their miasma.
▱▰▱ Touch of the Boundless | The Uzumaki can create any and all seals, and therefore cast any sealing technique - no matter how intricate or complex - upon a single touch of their palm without handseals. This alternative method for Fuuin must still adhere to the alternative jutsu casting clause as chakra must still be gathered to accomplish a technique as a seal isn't instantly created. In addition, with one-touch and one action, the Uzumaki is able to summon up to three creatures from a contract for only the chakra cost of the highest-ranked creature summoned.
▱▰▱ Holy Conversion | For every RPC converted to the archpriest's religion they gain an endgame reward of their choice. The endgame reward can only be up to 2,000 XP in value. This PA is only obtained by archpriests and is automatically obtained once that title is granted.
▱▰▱ Plunder of the Vagabond | As a globally feared villain, you will forever be able to obtain Endgame perks with only three-quarters of the experience required.

Jove walked from the Shodais offices to the Academy. The streets felt different now, there was an unquestioned loyality that was not only seen but felt. She was no fool, if she was going to succeed. She would have to lend a piece of herself to his cause; to everything that was possible. At the end of the day, the only person that was going to be looking out for Jove was Jove…. There really was no other option. She walked through the streets; concentrating and allowing the charms that hung around her waist jingle freely in the rain that pelted them. With Jove heavy wool cloak and hood, her was solemnly concerned with the rain and the soaking potential. If there was something that Jove learned and learned quickly is that the Rain was everything.

She needed to prove to the Shodai that she would be worth a minuscule investment. He was the power of this village, it was the most undeniable truth… look into the sky. As Satoshi accomplished his dream of initiating the massive genjutsu; she had a dream of her own… one that was held close and well guarded. The path of her abilities was a semi lonely path with the exception of the children in the village…it was unfortunate they lasted as little as they did. She was just really coming into her own mental potency in genjutsu. They were feeble and weak taking advantage when then knew she wouldn’t have been able to defend herself.

She opened the doors and it had seemed the spectacle had already begun. The water dripped from her and she showed herself to a seat across the arena from His Grace and his family. She pulled a small gold and lace fan from her sleeve and fanned herself. Though her skin was still soaked from the weather, the bodies naturally warmed the room…. And the scent of blood was a guilty pleasure of Joves. These were all the little academy students proving the the Shodai their loyalty. She giggled and decided to keep her eyes on the Oni girl. Jove grew up in a small village outside of Amegakure… the girl fascinated her.

The first thing Sute felt was the coldness of the blade against her skin. The feeling only lasted a fraction of a second before it was replaced with nothing but pain. A pain that Sute had felt before, but not quiet at this level. The girl looked down to find her chest cavity had been cut clean open. How was this even possible? She hadn't seen Junichi move at all. All she really saw was a blur. There was no time to react at all. "Agh!" Sute coughed blood directly into Junichi's face. "I...I... don't...please" Sute looked directly into Junichi's eyes as her hands reached up and gripped the hilt of the blade. Her eyes only widened as she noticed his hand reaching up to where her heart would be. It was clear that Junichi intended on keeping his word. Sute gasped out as she felt his hand entering her chest cavity. "N-No..." Sute said meekly. The feeling of having his fingers wrapping around her heart wasn't something any person should have to live through. Everything seemed to come to a halt as Sute's eyes darted around, looking for any sort of hope that this wasn't really happening. The girl looked over at Shigeko's circle, seeing the younger girl fighting Shigeko. Sute reached out toward Shigeko in some sort of desperate attempt to get help. But then it happened. At the point Junichi's fingers touched her heart, Sute stopped relying on begging and devolved into screaming. It seemed she wasn't willing to give up still. The girl's outstretched hand balled into a fist that would be used to attempt to hit Junichi. [ E rank Punch ] The punch itself was rather weak and Junichi likely wouldn't feel much of it. Followed by her punch was an almost as futilely weak kick. [ E rank Kick ] Perhaps this was where it ended for the young girl after all.

“Hm?” Poppy looked down, something she wasn’t used to doing, to see another student talking to her. The child was dressed well. Well enough that the Junsei had to wonder why she was learning to be a shinobi. “Aren’t you worried about ruining your nice clothes?” She asked. It probably should have been kept in her head, but Poppy wasn’t one to have a filter. She rested her hand against her cheek as she leaned her elbow on the railing. Why did the Sky Sector kids (as she assumed this small girl was one of them) even bother being here? Poppy blew another gum bubble while she gave Lica a quick once over.

While she analyzed Lica, Poppy’s elbow slipped on the rain covered railing. She stumbled but she did her best to play it off like she was turning back to the fights. “I’m not scared. The ultimate lifeform doesn’t get scared.” As she spoke, Poppy’s voice didn’t carry an ounce of boastfulness to it. Her tone was hard, as if she were speaking pure fact. “And especially not for some randos who can’t fend for themselves.” Under the cover of the ever falling rain it was becoming hard to see the fights below. The young medic made a sign with her hand and the rain in front of her and Lica parted like a curtain for a better view. [Water Manipulation] “Everyone taking this exam is acting like they hadn’t been trained to kill this entire time. What did they think? That they would be a shinobi without having to spill blood?”

Poppy blew and popped another bubble before continuing. “The only thing worse than death is to avert your eyes from it. You should look straight at the people you kill, and never take your eyes off of them for a second. And never forget them.” Poppy gripped the railing, more of a reaction than a conscious decision. Memories of her previous home and all of her “siblings” flashed through her mind. “Because they sure as hell will never forget you.”

Otawaru Nakamoto

tab Otawaru was quite pleased to see his door be one of the first to open. He was chomping at the bit to get to get to his match and show the Amekage just what he could do. Making his way into the arena, his excitement only grew. There before him stood a boy who reeked of cistern trash. "Oh? And who do we have here?" he cooed, the corners of his mouth curling into a devilish grin. It seemed that someone had delivered him a pig fresh for the slaughter. 'It must be my birthday.' he thought.

tab Seeing the way the ragged boy trembled with fear, Otawaru could tell this fight was all but over from the moment he stepped into the arena. On the one hand, he could fully demonstrate his skills and try to take the boy out in one precise strike but where was the fun in that. This was the first time he'd ever been given permission to fully let loose and he wanted to savor the opportunity. "You're looking a little nervous over there. my dude. You haven't already thrown in the towel now, have you?" he asked in a mocking tone. Oh yeah. He was definitely going to savor this moment.

tab Rather than unsheathing the kukri at his sides, Otawaru reached for the glute pouch he'd grabbed from the armory. "Tell ya what, buddy. How about we warm up with a little game? It's one I think you'll be well acquainted with." he said. In one fluid motion, he pulled out a pair of kunai and quickly launched one at the boy's torso (Basic Combat: Kunai Throw | Rank D). "Catch!" Of course, it wouldn't be fun if he just threw one kunai. As such, after the first kunai left his hand, he quickly readjusted the second kunai's position in his hand and tossed it as well, aiming this one slightly to the boy's right (Basic Combat: Kunai Throw | Rank D). While he was certainly toying with the boy, this would also give him a chance to see how the boy instinctively moved while attempting to dodge ........ assuming he survived this first assault.

User ImageAs a child, there were many things Angelica missed, such as when Poppy slipped on the railing. However, she did not, could not miss the once over the other girl gave her before that slip. That scrutinizing gaze, though far less intense and accusatory than what she was accustomed to, had become something her lifestyle required her to hone an understanding of. Obliging the viewer, Angelica took a step back when she felt the observation upon her and even gave a little twirl in place, arms out as she spun and then coming down across her body with a swish of soft cloth once she stopped.

Patting down to make sure her clothes were neatly arranged, she missed the slip of Poppy's elbow on railing. She did look up, with full attention, when Poppy made mention of "ultimate lifeform." A small thought spoke out loud, "Lica thinks being an ultimate lifeform is useful." Just a mumble, however, and Angelica quickly covered her mouth once she realized that she had spoken. The hard tone of Poppy's voice made her wary, reminded her too much of the times someone was in a bad mood, maybe that's exactly what Poppy was in, and if that was the case, then Angelica certainly didn't want to give reason for Poppy to dislike her.

However, when the other academy student was so nice to make a window through the rain for the both of them, Angelica decided, quite relieved, that was not hated yet, and in fact, took the chance to scoot a little bit closer. Obediently, with this window provided to her, the softly dressed girl watched the fights that occurred down below. Of the matches, nothing fazed her, not even the zealous attempt to present a still beating heart to the Amekage.

While Poppy spoke, the white haired girl remained quiet the rest of the way through. Occasionally, she'd tilt her head to one side or the other, but no more thought-to-speech mishaps were made. Only after it was all through, after hearing the end of what Poppy had to say, did those pale blue eyes of the part yokai feel like they had permission to look away from the battlefield and unto the academy student. They drifted from her face to her knuckles, white from how tightly she clenched the railing.

"Pat pat pat," exactly as she spoke, Angelica patted Poppy's knuckles, comforting(?) them, "The way Lica was taught, it doesn't matter. Lica was told to not care what the dead think or to think about those that are going to die but... Lica is curious. The dead will never forget?". "Curious." Also Lica's way of saying she feels something is off with the words she said herself, but there was no way such a meek girl would ever go against those who protected and cared for her.

Of course, being the good, attentive girl she was, there was no way Angelica would simply leave behind a question asked of her. Abruptly, like a mechanical tack-on, the checking off of a bullet point on a list, Angelica added "Oh, and also, Lica is worried that Lica's clothes will get dirty. That will make Lica's daddy angry, but Lica cannot back down or let Lica's clothes be even grazed by those under Lica. Lica must prove herself worthy of the Sky Sector." Her words falling rhythmically out of her mouth, more like a recording than her own voice, she continued maybe a bit further than she needed to, "Lica must show that the Earth Sector insects and Cistern Sector worms can only be crushed under Lica's heels." To demonstrate, just in case, the pallid little girl stepped out with a foot and ground her heel into the floor ahead of her.

Very late.

Not that she quite understood the importance of punctuality just yet, she wore a long some pretty rags that went to her kneecaps. Along with that, she wore soft purple rainboots that went up to her kneecaps. If anything, it would look like the rain boots was too big for her and being held together by twines of ropes. She was, of course, soaking wet from the rain that had been falling down. Those with sensitive noses may notice that she reeked of diluted blood. There was blood on her black dress, but she couldn't see it and paid it to no mind, figured that the rain will help her wash the blood away.

Pay careful attention, you might even catch the watery reddish-pinkish drops from the end of her front dress. Entered, her teacher hissed at her for being late as she was to wait for her consequences. Or maybe, just her luck, she wouldn't notice and would have to stay at the academy longer. Held her soaked bag, she opened it for a moment and took a peek at the inside. While it was soaked on the outside, it had protection on the inside, something required of Amegakure students, at least until they learn how to repel water from their scrolls. Curious blue hues glanced up at the noises and saw more blood.

She would fit in here. Maybe. Her eyes lowered when she noticed certain Sky Sector classmates.

Her lips curved into a frown as she turned her head onto where the roof would be. Was that... ? No. Shrugged it off, she started to pay attention to the events folded before her.

Steam Oni

Yuna just couldn’t grasp the grave reality of the situation in its totality, it was a miserable and distressing sight that allowed the words to cut into Shigekos determination…. but not enough to change things. The girl clearly knew it was really bad, did she really understand that her life was on the line? Shigeko even as a young child had a good concept of what death was and that one had to fight for it…. begging was an extremely human method of getting out of conflict and it was something Shigeko viewed as a flaw most of the time. Right now the girls misery and depredation had become an ocean of molasses, crashing waves of guilt to push against the forward march of intent brought by her psychotic break. Even with the fact she needed to and was resolved to kill Yuna, this didn’t become any easier, she saw a bit of herself in the girl, remembering being dragged away from her home with her mother and the total helpless despair it brought with it. That had to be Yuna right now and it was painful to see, a twitching around her left eye and pause in her motion were the visible signs of this conflict as Shigeko managed to push on a small act of kindness, maybe.

The intensity in the her stance reduced slightly as she signed and slowly reached out her empty hand, placing it on the crying girls head as her mother would hers when she was afraid. ”It will be ok Yuna, this was all just a test of your willpower, you will get to go home.” Her words were soft and unfitting of her demeanour or normal attitude to most, though It didn’t lack warmth or assurance to it, Shigeko had talked exactly like this to the younger girl once before, when she promised the girl would live a long life, the scariest part though to the oni herself…. was how sincere this lie sounded. This lie was an action she would never normally do, she would curse herself for it but right now she was going on impulse, as much as she pitied Yuna, she was well beyond the point of stopping herself from committing an atrocity, one that Sute would be unfortunately witness to as she looked and reached out for Shigeko.

The instant that Yuna would be able to process what Shigeko had said and even start considering if it were true or not, the gentle, reassuring hand placed on the girls head would suddenly tighten and pull up and back, making the girl look up as Shigeko(sort of E-rank grapple). At the same time she reversed the grip of her blade as a second burst of steam would signal the rapid motion of the blade so it would sweep across the young girl’s throat with a fwip noise(Complex E-rank). Yuna would not last long should this strike meet its mark as blood would almost immediate start flowing from the freshly formed would in a torrent down the girls body and even into Shigekos front as the Oni would stare wide eye, immediately aware of the irreversible nature of what she had just done. It…it would be ok, she had to do this and made her choice, Yuna needed to die if Shigekos goals were ever to be grasped, she couldn’t afford to care about her, she would still have and help Sute and everything would be ok.

She lifted the hand that had gripped the girls hair and looked at it, It had to happen but would be ok….. She looked at the blade of the sword with glistened with the traces of blood it brought with it, she had to do it, it would be ok…. The smell and feeling of warm blood that had hit her senses which were all rushing back to her multiple times over, she had Sute so It would be ok, it would be ok…., it would be…! A scream of someone smaller suffering, fear, pain beyond what a human should experience, the sharp sound dragging her head round to look at an even more atrocious sight than where she stood. The sight of at least a third of her self justification broken a cold wave of self inflict horror that had been kept at bay, the shock of this throwing Shigeko into a form of frozen emotional blank through overload, her thought process crashing as boiling steam began to hiss from her body in every direction, an attentive yet horrified looked coming across her features in a rather deranged sheen to her eyes as she slowly started move step by step closer to Sutes ring. Her approach was slow and wouldn’t interrupt Sutes match, though anyone paying attention might realize that she was actually walking in that direction with the intention of making Sutes opponent suffer and to kill him, the girl having no chance of surviving such a profoundly depraved action with such intent, poor Yuna left with zero comfort of focus as she would be left to her fate.

Ooc: I wrote she threw her sword away as opposed to the Sheathe, which is what I actually meant to have her throw away. She threw away the sheathe no the sword >.<.)

Achana bowed formally to Satoshi as he request was granted, much to her internal delight. She was certainly pleased, but beyond that, the Kurama-clanswoman kept her composure despite the turmoil of emotion beneath her skin. "Thank you, my Lord...I will remove myself until I am needed.", she said before her crimson eyes flickered over to the odd Hojo who had only seemed to spur her to further prove her worth to the Village. She offered him a nod as well, before flickering off in a puff of smoke as she shunshin'd down near the other students who were observing the fights.

Achana then found herself popping up beside Angelica and Poppy, leaning against the railing as she observed the fights ongoing below. A few of the students below caught her attention, but more intriguing was Shigeko and her absolute display of ruthless aggression. The raven haired genjutsu specialist could not help but grin beneath her respirator, entertained by what would hopefully result in the flow of crimson life-blood and the death of lowborn scum.

Though she was not keen to miss out on any of the action, Achana was not so rude and uncouth not to at least acknowledge the pair she had appeared near. She offered Angelica a soft bow of her head, seeing her for the higher breed she was. Poppy only got a gaze from those crimson eyes, which were windows to her insanity. They seemed to regard her a moment longer, as if trying to determine their worth before she simply averted her gaze and returned it back to those fighting. It was not worth introducing herself just yet. Besides, she rarely enjoyed a conversation that did not directly benefit her in some way.
