“Oh! Team Snagerm! Your group is particularly popular around here, and Hoenn in general! You guys are great! Thank you so much for all you’ve done for us.” The receptionist said in a cheerful voice, her smile bright and sincere. While Monique wasn’t a part of anything the group did to deserve such praise it was nice to be on the receiving end of such kindness, especially for someone who came from such a dreary cutthroat world where people were only nice to you in order to get close to you and steal from you. “Now then, unusual Pokemon behavior? We did run a story last week about a Plusle and Minun outbreak on the second floor, though I guess while it’s uncommon it’s not especially unusual. We put out an announcement the other day to be on the lookout for a wild Kecleon causing trouble in the city. We haven't had one of those sneak into the city in a long time, they used to come in all the time from Route 117 before they put up the Devon Scope system. Besides those, no, nothing jumps out at me.” The receptionist responded.

“GRIMER IN THE TOILETS!” A voice shouted. From behind Monique came a haggard, dirty, and crazed looking man, rushing up to the receptionist’s desk and slamming a bunch of papers on it, the writing on them looking like little more than Torchic scratches. The receptionist side but didn’t so much as jump or flinch. “There are Grimer in the toilets! The citizens deserve to know the truth!” The disheveled man cried out.

“David, we told you if you came back we’d have to escort you off the premises.” The receptionist responded coldly to the frantic fellow. “I apologize, ma’am. Our friend David here often brings us what he thinks are newsworthy scoops but are really unsubstantiated conspiracy theories. Isn’t that right, David?” She glared at the man.

“YOU CAN’T HIDE THE TRUTH FOREVER!” He yelled at her as he noticed the security guard approaching from the side. “THE GRIMER ARE COMING! THE CITY IS IN TROUBLE! THEY’RE GIVING OUR POKEMON POKERUS! IT’S A BIOLOGICAL ATTACK FROM KANTO! CLOSE THE BORDER!” He continued to scream as he was carried out by a Machoke, the security guard trainer following close behind.

“Again, sorry about that. Anything else I can do for you?” She asked Monique.

As William entered the academy he would find the place empty, the only other eyes in the room were those of the statues staring at him, three of them representing the Musketeer Trio of legend and the forth the legendary ballet dancer, Meloette. The room he found himself in was nice, wide open and a battlefield at its center, murals adorning the walls of blade wielding Pokemon such as Gallade and those with a penchant for singing such as Jigglypuff. William would be left on his own for a good while, giving him plenty of time to study and appreciate the murals. The silence would be broken before long however as an old man entered this room from a back room.

“The toilet is out of order! Go away! It’s clogged like the rest!” The old man shouted at William. If he had to guess he was the master of this academy.

'Oh! I'm not here to use the facilities, good sir!" William greeted the elderly gentleman. "I'm on the hunt for some ruffians that have brought some poor, diseased Pokemon to this fine city. Would you perhaps have noticed such dastardly behavior in these parts?" William asked, bringing forth as much as a gentlemanly demeanor as he could muster. It wasn't hard - he IS Galarian, after all. But he doesn't quite have enough confidence to pull it off smoothly.

Monique was startled to see David's haggard running, leaving a pile of manila folders on the front desk. Before she could pipe up and say something to him, security was on him and removing him from the building. Yikes...

“Again, sorry about that. Anything else I can do for you?”

Monique looked at all the papers. "If you don't mind... We are conducting an investigation, and even if this may be of little value to you, it may be useful to us. Could I take this off your hands and at least give it a look over?" She was glad to see that, at least here, Snagem had goodwill as a name.

"Hm? Oh, hey there Lykas." Sub said as the hybrid approached him, he didn't expect anyone else to show up. "Actually, you have excellent timing. Could you do me a favor and go find Monique? GRAY told me she went off alone and I do worry about her being by herself in such an unfamiliar...well, world." Sub chuckled lightly to himself.

"Hm...you're not from here." The old man glared at William as he approached him, looking him up and down. "Ruffians? Dastardly? Cut back the fancy talk in my academy. Unless you're here for a singing lesson, that is." The old man said as he moved over to a bench and sat down. "Just the usual punks picking fights with each other outside my academy. Don't know why of all places they choose my place to scrap in front of. Their motorcycles leave burn marks once they speed off from the police. That is, when they actually show up. It's hard getting any type of assistance in academy row, people just don't resp4ect higher learning like they used to." The man mused.

The contents of the folders would show Monique that Crazy Dave, as some people call him, had meticulously mapped out and detailed what he believed to be the Grimer sightings in the toilets around Mauville City. Sure, his hand writing was difficult to read but with enough time and effort one would be able to decipher it.

It would appear the sightings started a month ago and take place roughly at the same time, between four and five in the afternoon, right in the middle of rush hour, according to the files. Furthermore he points out the Grimer only appear in the toilets of businesses with a solid majority appearing in places that cater to Pokemon battles or things to do with battles, such as learning moves. Nothing of value ever seems to be stolen. The best bit of information was that he had discerned a pattern and mapped out exactly where he believed the next sightings would be, today's allegedly going to take place at Sword and Song Move Academy.

Wait a minute, what times was it? Her SNAG said 4:02 PM.

Lykas paused for a moment to run that name through his memory. Had he met a 'Monique' before? Then it hit him. "She's the one that showed up with the glass-looking hybrid with the huge chest right?" He asked after a moment, drooling slightly as the obviously dirty thoughts he had regarding Clare passed through his mind for a moment. "Sure, I can give her a chaperone." He agreed, heading off almost instantly. Delmare whinnied softly at Sub before clopping along softly beside his trainer, the hybrid's hand lazily scratching at the equine Pokemon's mane as the pair wandered off with Lykas opening his SNAG and looking for the GPS marker for Monique's in order to locate her.

It would only take a few minutes to find his way to her at the local TV station and approach. "You must be the infamous Monique." He quipped as he approached her from behind, ponytail quivering as he took in her appearance. Cute, clearly confident if a bit confused by something at the moment and a bit of fox, hybrid status notwithstanding. "What's with the team adopting all these sexy vixens lately?" He asked more to himself than to anyone else, not caring exactly how Monique might react to the comment just now. He assumed she'd already done the leg work of asking for information so he was just doing his thing for now.

Delmare, on the other hand, wasn't having any Lykas' flirting on the top and proceeded to softly headbutt the Jellicent hybrid square in the butt, jabbing his horn into Lykas' flesh enough to make him jump. "Hey! Careful back there!"

Hearing voices calling for her, Monique turned around from studying the thick dossier to find a half-jellyfish and a horned horse. She really needed to learn more of these people's names, not that she wasn't doing enough learning as it was.

"I don't know about you, but this is the last time to be musing about sexy vixens," she grumbled, holding up the dossier before crossing her arms and holding it against her chest. Ugh, men... "Let me tell you what all this is. Someone a bit kooky came in here running and claiming that there's a ring of Grimer showing up about this time of day at various battle establishments here and causing all kinds of plumbing trouble. I managed to make sense of this and he claims there should be a Grimer problem now, this hour, over at the...Song of Sword and Move Academy. Can we get down there? At least to eliminate this guy's ramblings?"

She checked her SNAG. It was 4:05. It would take them several minutes to walk down to the south end of the city.

"Any time is a good time to be admiring someone or something attractive, thank you."Lykas retorted, though he did listen to Monique's explanation of what she'd found. "Sword and Song, huh?" The hybrid thought aloud, pulling a Pokeball from his belt and releasing his uniquely colored Gardevoir. "Have we ever been to Sword and Song in town?"

"Unlikely, boss. We haven't spent any significant amount of time in Mauville since before Wattson went on his little upgrading spree and turned the city into a giant shopping mall with high-rise apartments built in." Mykel replied mentally, offering what solace he could. "I can take us to any of the town's entrances, though. Those didn't move so I can still get there without too much trouble."

"Nah. looks like we'll be hoofing it." Lykas replied with a shake of his head, recalling the Gardevoir again. "Let's get moving, then. Teleporting anywhere but directly there would just slow us down. Even if the guy's wrong, it might lead us to another clue to what's going on around here." Delmare whinnied softly and ran along with Lykas once again as the hybrid headed off.

"Right, sorry, I'll leave you to it, then," William rushed, leaving the old man behind while wandering off in another random direction. He normally didn't have any issues conversion with others but his manner of speech was his weakness and when he was made aware of it he got really awkward, really quickly. He's learned to avoid those types of situations.

Tristen started to make his way down the area, trying to keep an eye out for anything. Tristen hadn't been in Mauville City all that much so it was probably high time to get acquainted with the place, more so to at the very least keep up appearances. Once he found himself at the food court, he started to take note of those around the area, but something caught his nose. A stench, one rather subtle, not really able to be picked up by those of normal people, but a hybrid on the other hand, with a canine sense of smell was a whole other story...a vile one that he's been too accustomed to over the years with Snagem. Tristen started to walk deeper into the food court, taking note of the people about him, working his way around, finding where there were a couple of battles taking place. He wasn't wanting to jump in on anything as of yet, he didn't know where it originated from.

A commotion started to happen nearby, an ace trainer starting to call out foul play by his opponent. Tristen was contemplating getting a Pokeball out, one that contained one of three Pokemon that could stand up to shadow Pokemon since they were once shadowfied themselves, but he had to make sure. He heard a commotion just recently how the team was getting frowned upon over jumping the gun and he didn't want to be an instigator in that happening here. He had to wait and make sure and only act when he actually had confirmation. If nothing else, Tristen figured this could prove to be a even bigger opportunity to quell the Shadow Pokemon threat if the situation played just right. For now, he'd just stand by and wait...

"indeed I am trying to stop myself from going full blown police mode, but I don't want to cause trouble either" Deo said to this cybernetic person. Of course he saw the items all around for sale and what not, but something felt off, as if it was too quiet and too silent around him. He did not know what would happen but he knew the risks for shadow pokemon. "Sir, I am unsure on how to fight shadow pokemon with my current pokemon, could you help me in that event?" Deo asked this person who he figured had seen them before.

Brian made sure to walk slow enough that Kazu was able to keep up with him, knowing how fast he walked sometimes. As they reached the Food Court, he could hear battles already taking place. He wasn't particularly worried about the battle between the Castform and the Banette, but the second one he could see, the one between the Seviper and the Masquerain, seemed to be much more interesting. He couldn't feel the malevolent presence, but something the Collector said caught his attention. So, the guy had a Pokemon that would singlehandedly take him to the Elite Four, huh? That sounded like a Pokemon Brian wanted to see.

He was about to say something when an Ace Trainer pushed between him and Kazu, earning the guy a bit of a dirty look from Brian. The moment the Collector and the Ace Trainer started pushing each other around, Brian could see the Seviper looking like it was getting ready to attack the Ace Trainer. Not wanting to see anyone get hurt, he released Lu and sent her forward. "Enough!" he said, his voice raised to carry over the commotion. "Back off, or that Seviper might just see to it that ye wind up in the hospital."

He knew the Poison-type was well-known for having a temper, and he was hoping to avoid such an incident. Looking at the Collector, he leveled his gaze at him. "As for ye, I want a battle," he said, "but not against yer Seviper. I want to see this 'prized Pokemon' of yers, and see if it really holds up to yer bragging."

Just as William was exiting Song and Sword Move Academy two other Snagems would be walking up to the doors, that is Lykas and Monique. If neither of the hybrids recognized the human was being their teammate they would note the tell-tale symbol of being a Snagem, that is the Snag Machine equipped to his hand. Might be a good idea to fill in William on what info they have on this place and why it might do them good to visit the 'facilities' after all.

At that same moment, inside the academy, in the 'facilities', the toilets began to gurgle, though no one around to hear it. In the handicap stall a purple hand made of sludge stretched out from the toilet. It was time.

"Excuse me?" Monique recognized the kid from the meeting earlier at the office, so he had to be part of the team, though his name escaped her. "Did you go inside there?"

She held up the thick dossier like a prize trophy. "I'm in possession of information that suggests the need to investigate this facility. Anything unusual get said when you were in there?"

Reno Vantas

"Hello! Welcome to Ritzy Ribbon Retail! Please, gaze upon all our fabulous ribbons to your hearts content, let your Pokemon as well! Maybe one will catch their eye and they'll plead their trainer to buy one!" The sales associate greeted the Snagems from behind the glass ribbon case at the far end of the shop. As one might imagine the place was stocked with ribbons, the cheaper ones just hanging out for anyone to touch, the slightly more hanging high up on the wall, and the most expensive ones locked behind the glass case the associate stood behind.

When Deo began to talk to Reno the woman did take a particular interest in their conversation, the associate walking out from behind the case to adjust the ribbons to get a little closer for a few seconds before going back behind the glass case. "You look familiar." She said to Reno, giving him a good hard look though nothing on her face immediately told Reno that she recognized him, nor did he have any Psychic inkling that she did, least not yet. "Any ribbon catch your eye? You seem like a man with money and likes to show it." She said with a wide smile, perhaps noting all the technology on him.

"And you..." She turned to Deo. "Look like a man that might want to impress the ladies. We have ribbons for that too." She winked.

Crystal sighed as William walked off, shrugging. “I know Sub may have given the impression, but I don’t know this area too much better than you do,” she quietly said to herself. “Anyways… Let’s continue on, then.” She’d continue walking through the streets, keeping an eye out for any sort of clothing store that appeared to cater to hybrids. Her attention would only be partially there, as she’d also be trying to keep track of people and her immediate surroundings mentally.

Her distracted mind would keep her from noting the clothier she was walking by on the second floor, a simple enough place with various mannequins based on a couple of generalized hybrid body types. She had to do a double take for a moment because she was getting lost in her own thoughts. “Hm? Oh, uh, right! This is something I wanted to look for… Let me jot the location down real quick, for later,” she muttered, quickly hunting down a small journal she kept in her bag. She jotted down a ton of things she could about the place, where it was, what it looked like, the name, and what reality, which would really only be relevant to her, but if anyone thought she was weird for that, she really couldn’t care. She was used to strange looks for a long while now, in some form or another, and the reactions ran through the entire spectrum. At this point, she did her best to ignore it, or try to set them straight if someone was a bit more reverent towards her. Those reactions were some of the more awkward ones. Thankfully, nothing of the sort had happened here. Yet. Just the odd stares at a tall white cat hybrid with a strange face and wearing a crown for some reason, which would be odd even for a place that was accepting of hybrids.

With a final bit written into the journal, she snapped it shut and put both the journal and her pen back into her bag, making sure that it was closed tight before starting to walk again. “Now that that’s done… How did I get here?” She took a good look at her surroundings now, noting that somewhere along the way, she must have gotten off of the beaten path, so to speak. It wasn’t empty in her area by any means, but it wasn’t a busy thoroughfare, either. “Well… Shouldn’t be too hard, this place is effectively a large square right?” She took a final glance at the sign on the outside of the shop, displaying a Mega Banette holding a gigantic sewing needle. “... Don’t give me that look. It’s normal to walk while lost in thought, especially when you’re doing things you haven’t done in centuries.” She waved her hand as she walked off, starting to find her way back to the main area before deciding which direction to go next.
