Dude, I don't care if you're poor or not: Stop inflating the damn economy. You're acting like the d**k heads who own the oil companies. "We're not in a crisis for gas but hey, let's slowly rasie the prices to get even more money!"

Work for your gold and stop screwing eveyone else over... if people are wise, they wouldn't buy from the guy use the market... and at least be glad he did take out your name.

It's not wrong though, it's the way things are meant to be. I'm poor and it's the way I know best to make gold. I didn't get with the program till I'd been on gaia quite a while, and I had some serious inflation to catch up with. In other words, I inlfate the lower items so that I can catch up to the higher items. Nothing wrong with that. Like, as I group. Here'd be an example. Lets say, horns are at 270,000. And a group of friends and I had, collectively, 1.5 million gold. So we bought them all up, and put them on the market at 300K. Lets say I sold mine for that, during that time. Now, of course, people would get tired of the item, and re-sell it. Competition would counteract our inflation. There is alot of excess gold out there that would come into play. Poll guilds together stick an extra several hundred thousand gold into gaia each day. MPL alone is estimated at 200,000. What we did by temporarily raising the price of the horns to 300K would be to gobble up the 200K that those other people had. Not only does it give us the gold, but the market would settle out. Like the pitchfork was at 70,000, then dropped back to 50,000. (since then it's gone up again), but the artificial inflation was just some nerds like us harming no one and gaining 20K each during the inflation period. Then it returns to natural. So we don't harm anyone.

EDIT

During the inflated period, it is the fault of uneducated gaians who buy the high priced items. Their choice. We don't make them buy it at the high point. And the prices do drop back down. Like the hammi hat from 30K to 20K. One of my friends bought 200 pandy packs. They were nearly 30K a piece on the market for a few minutes, then it quickly dropped back down.

yeah, ace is one of those people i was talking about, obviously sweatdrop noone likes inflation, and using it for your own personal profit is wrong and a means of screwing over other people jsut so you can get more money. the only problem is the prices raise for you too and it affects everyone instead of one or two people

Read my above edit. It only affects the few people who buy during that time, and that is there choice.

yeah, but it seems like gaia is already inflating WITHOUT your help. so it's hurting us more than it's helping you. it's a lose-lose situation any way you look at it, and since you're still poor, you obviously have nothing to show for your actions except the fact that you can help cheat other people out of money by inlfation.

You know what - have you ever quested for months for an items and aren't educated about the economy? Or you're not sure if the item will ever go down in price? People get desperate - yeah, maybe it's over pixelated items, but hey, you're doing the same thing to master some scheme and inflate items. And hun, you are far from poor.

Hmm, it's not cheating. Natural inflation exists regardless of what we do, so we're not harming anything.

And I do have something to show for it. In August on gaia, I had only obtained an inventory value of 60,000 gold. That was over half a year. By the end of the year, it was near 150,000, and by now I've added another 200,000 to that for a total of near 375,000. Still not enough to get alot of the things I want, but it is something to show for rapidly catching up on how far I'd been behind on the gold-gaining scale. 3nodding

...and you said you were poor? what have you been smoking? heck 60k seems like a lot of money to me, and you say you're POOR with almost 375k???? please, just stop. it's not helping anyone except yourself. which is completely, fully, 100% greed.

Well then, in that case, i've given back to the community. I made a post here about how to use the market to your advantage in the "how to get gold" sticky. And I educated GD on the same thing. http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10792180

I keep logs of the marketplace now to see what will happen. My goal is to map the rate of inflation as an exponential function for the items I want, calculate my own rate of growth through "manipulated inflation" where I create inflation and sell on the high points, and then find where they intersect, since I have a higher rate of increase, and I will theoretically be able to obtain what I want.

That is my way of questing, and it is no different from anyone elses. I just added a bit of math to make it more efficient.

EDIT: I'm gonna bet you're not soo poor yourself.

xd Dude, GD doesn't give a crap! That's the worse place to try an express anything.

I think you have taken Gaia far more serious than actual full out questers. If you can ever take what you're doing now in the real world, that's great.

But anyway, you still cause inflation so we're obvisouly can't get along. No matter how right you think you are, you're still causing a problem that makes people complain all the time. People that complain & inflate make Gaia no fun. neutral

Well, there is no point in arguing in it. Agree to disagree. I still feel poor compared to those guys. [And of course I'd never post a topic like that in a forum where people actually think. I post mathematical topics in GD and MPL.] surprised

However; I feel the opposite way. I feel that people who complain about inflation are the ones that take it too seriously. Math is my game. It's what I find fun. I love calculus; regressions are barely a fun exercise. Gaia is still a game, and that's the way I play. [We] had to fill out a small series of feedback forms before we were actually allowed to inflate the economy, the mods hate us more than anyone. I'm just one warning away from getting a 5th permaban.
