Anicia burst out of the water, steaming mad.
Unfortunately for Alex, she is a very good swimmer, and rather fast on her feet as well. She was up and out of the water in moments, absolutely fuming.
You better run, squirrel.

Melanie was making an attempt to do a graceful dive into the pool off the high dive. All of her diving lessons had paid off, except for the fact that she was still afraid of heights. She just usually learned to ignore the churning in the pit of her stomach, the adrenaline rush of the dive was worth it.
However, at the very moment where she would have gone off the springboard she saw Jeremy manage a grand belly flop into the pool off the low dive and didn't have time to make a proper jump because his stupidity always managed to make her laugh and throw her off. Instead of doing an eyepleasing swan dive she had to just jump in feet first. It was times like these she thanked God she wasn't too girly to wear a one piece bathing suit, otherwise she might have winded up topless.
Jeremy somehow always managed to make her laugh. Even when he pissed her off. For once she was pissed off because he made her laugh. And she could swear that John caught her glance and she nervously turned away and headed over to swim laps in the designated part of the pool, away from her embarassing younger sibling.

Eileen threw a grateful glance to both Jeremy and Dru, but said nothing more, simply doing some sort of mentally impaired type swan dive into the pool.
SPLASH
Eileen quickly recovered and treaded over to where Melanie was.
Glancing over at Jeremy, she smiled, a bit perplexed, "He tends to do that to people, huh."
Giving a short laugh, she flipped over onto her stomach, loving the feel of the water just taking her away and the sun on her back.
The sun on the small of her back. Someone brushed past her, and she imediately gave a large yowl, "SUNBURN!"

((A little late starting. Sorry! >.<))
It was getting on in the afternoon when Griffin trudged out of the rec room doors in his navy trunks. Ah, what do they know, he thought darkly as he plopped down in a chair beside the pool. He briefly rewound the last few minutes of "conversation" he'd shared with the thugs in the pool's locker room. "Stupid half-wits..." he murmured as he stared at the mania insuing in the crystal clear water. He surveyed the length of the pool's massive courtyard. He silently admired the figures of the various femals in and out of the pool. Why can't I...nevermind, he told himself. How could he even ponder the prospect of talking comfortably to a girl like that? It was absurd in his mind. You're not dating material, he reminded himself. He leaned against the plastic back of the chair and closed his eyes to slits. The sun was intense, but he liked it that way.

Dru watched the people in the pool. They seemed happy and contented with their lives but they always had to pick on the weaker people. It made her sick. She ignored her thoughts and gto up, walking over to the pools' edge. She took a few breathes as she remembered how cold it was before and jumped in. The water seemed to swallow her up and she had not a care in the world. It made her...happy. She went under the surface and sat at the end of the pool. Her feet looked blue in the water while the rest of her was normal. She liked the feel of the water.

Griffin watched as a girl first stared into the pool's glassy depths and then plunged in. If he remembered correctly, the girl's name was Dru. Odd name... he thought judgingly. But still nice, argued the romantic of his conscience's two sides. He watched as she dipped her head under the water and came back up. She was smiling. In fact, most everyone in the pool was. What was it with that cold, blue chlorination that calmed their nerves?

As Dru dangled her feet she felt a boys eyes watching her. She ignored them as the smile faded from her face. I dont understand it, Dru thought, they look at me with that look and they dont do anything about their fantasies. It was strange how they worked. But she always seemed to use them as inspiration for her stories and artwork. She sighed softly as she looked over at him and gave him an oh-so-not-impressed look.

It was tempting. She was tempting. The look she shot him seemed to beckon to him. He couldn't understand it. Go in! his head shouted. I can't! It...I...just can't, he argued back. Yet, with all his attempts to silence himself, he felt himself drug harder and harder toward the pool. Something gave way. Before he could analyze reasoning, he lurched forward and dove in a few feet from the girl, spraying her with a small wake.

Anicia was distinctly annoyed, but she didn't feel like dealing with the others at the moment.
"I need a smoke," she muttered, stomping back towards her friends. She tossed her hair over her shoulder and wrung it over the head of one of them, laughing even as he hooked her around the waist and pulled her down into his lap. "You're getting yourself all wet, Ross."
And next follows public display of affection. Eww, gross.

Dru gasped as the cold water hit her face...again! But it certainly removed her from her thoughts. She looked into the water to see who had almost killed himself. "Hey, this is the shallow end."She said to the boy when he came up. She giggled slightly but stopped herself quickly to not add to his embarrasment.

((Hey, don't everyone get paired off before we even get out of the pool! xd There's still a lot of story to come yet!))
Jeremy, having had enough of not being the center of everyone's attention, wandered off to make havok among the clusters of girls here and there. Cries like 'EEEK! GIVE THAT BACK YOU LITTLE!', 'PERVERT!', and 'JEREMYYYYY!!' could be heard throughout the rest of the day at the pool.
John, meanwhile, lounged around with his friends, occasionally 'bothering' a girl (they weren't REALLY bothered by this) but just generally hanging about.
"Hey, Antsy! You might want to let the man come up for some air," John grinned at Anicia.

Griffin came up slowly, rubbing his head. As he raised his eyes, he found them locked on those of the girl he'd implusively dove towards. "I.. umm.. jeez... I'm... My bad," he finally got out. He felt his cheeks flush, even against the cold droplets of water on his face. He started to introduce himself, stopped, forced the voices in his head to silence, and stammered "I'm Griffin... You sit in front of me in Chemistry." The words came automatically. He didn't even feel them leave his throat as he usually did. What are you doing? he asked himself. We've been through this... You don't let yourself--" He silenced the voice and focused on Dru's face, which shimmered slightly from the collection of water droplets.

"Yeah, I'm the quiet one who doesnt usually talk."Dru smiled a little bit. Oh my god this is so arkward, Dru thought angrily to herself. "So, how's the water Griffin?"Dru said cheekily as she started to giggle again.

((Random NPC woo. >.>; Honestly? She's not exactly the monogamous type anyway. biggrin ))
Anicia growled in annoyance and flipped whoever-it-was the bird before grabbing her towel. She furiously rubbed at her hair to dry it, and was standing up and stalking toward the girls locker room before long, towel draped over her shoulders.
"I've had enough of this s**t for one day," she muttered, just before ducking into the shower stall to rinse the chlorine off.

Look at that... the incessant nag started up again. It's all awkward now. "It's... nice actually." Where was this coming from? "Funny how something so simple as thousands of gallons of water can calm... the nerves..." He slowed as he ended. Ask her if she wants a drink or something! urged the romantic. He blinked in the bright sunlight. "Can I buy you a drink or something?" He sank in the water slightly as he awaited the reply. He could hear his heart beating in his head.
