it seems like somebody may have been high when he wrote this.
nevertheless, one good reason to stay away from what hurts you is because (a) yoou have been burned by it, which is a smart reaciton, or (b) because someone you know and trust has been burned and has warned you.
well maybe you know some people who have been through this?
if you don't, you are follish to take the first step since you have no clue what you are getting into.
if you do, odds are a few of them will have some horror stories to tell.
meth makes your skin rot and your teeth fall out. i have seen it first hand.
oxycodone is so addictive you would sell your body or your mother for another pill.
i know first hand about that, i was picked up off the streets where i was begging, hundreds of miles from home, so don't try to tell me anything.

1. Don't hurt other people. 2. Don't hurt yourself. 3. Don't make yourself someone else's problem.
If you can use drugs and stay within this rather simple code of conduct, more power to you. Most drug users that I've met can't though...

I don't smoke or do drugs, because I'm comfortable with who I am and I don't need drugs or alcohol to make me feel any better about myself. Smoking makes you smell terrible and is addictive, alcohol just makes you lose control over situaitions and gets others hurt as well as yourself. In general i consider people who do drugs people are weak and unconfrontational people b/c they won't face problems in their lives or anything. And I don't really get why someone would get drunk to 'escape the pressure of everyday life' b/c your problems will still be there after you get over your hangover. However doing drugs is a personal choice, and I'm not about to tell anyone how to live their lives, even though I will try to convince them not to do drugs. Drugs will probably kill you sooner and I felt like if I really didn't want to live anymore I'd join the army soo at least you'd die for something better then jumping off a building, cutting yourself a little deeper, overdosing or drinking myself to death.

The situations you are refering to are all examples of unsafe drug use behavior. Just because someone uses drugs does not necessarily make them "weak or unconfrontational," some are rather the opposite.
Contrary to popular belief, it is very prevalent to use different drugs for recreational purposes, and not as an escape from the problems of life. Through moderated use, they can enhance experiences, provide insight and clarity, and even lead to some brilliant and uninhibited works of art.
1. Be in a safe environment with friends. 2. Know your limits.
Now, while some drugs are incredibly dangerous and addictive, and should be used sparingly if at all, some things like marijuana are more or less harmless, and much safer than more popular drugs like alcohol or cigarettes.

I agree with that first post. I don't do drugs not only because I don't want to be a conformist, but it's also bad for you. All drugs in someway ruin your body.

I do drugs, still. I am going to University, I am from a well brought up family, I have lots of friends I can trust etc.
I am not following anyone but myself. You only live once, you are only a teen once, so I am going to Milk it for all it is worth.
That being said, I am not dumb enough to get addicted to anything, that isn't in my personality. And there are things I will never touch. And I will never smoke, just because I am appauled by the after effects.
As for you people who don't do drugs, you have your reasons why you don't, and I respect them. Everyone is diffferent, we need to accept that.

please explain WHY you think they are stupid.
The point of this subforum is to DISCUSS opinions, not to simply post them.

I hate drugs because they harm the body and make most people addicted to them, sometimes in extreme ways were they lose everything.

Reasons I don't drink or do drugs: 1) Can't stand the smell 2) Can't stand the taste.
Plus I've got too much going for me to screw life up with drugs or booze

Reasons I don't do Drugs or Smoke or Drink beer:
Beer: I don't want to be like my dad or my brother, I'm underage, Tastes nasty and smells nastier (Yes I've taken a sip but Nothing more than that)
Drugs: I don't want to be like my brother he's an a** and he steals important things from us to pay for his pot.
Smoke ciggarettes: I just don't want to.
I don't even take Ibuprofin(Or however the hell you spell it) Because I'm SERIOUSLY allergic to it.

I don't do drugs because I have no money so if I ever got on drugs I would steal kill and destroy... I'm not saying when I get money I'll do drugs, I'm saying I absolutely will not do them.
And if I get money then do drugs... I will be broke again, so no thank you.
