Devon walked into the cage room and looked at all the chimera. His masked face slowly gazed around at each one. He noticed Panther and walked over to her cage. "Well, well, well. Look what got dragged back kicking and screaming. If you're here, then Jared must have returned. I suppose it should only be fair that I take you down to the experimentation room" he said. However, he then looked over at John's cage and observed him. "Looks like the solution is taking effect already" he said.

((Sorry xD))
John grimaced, knowing Hiccadu--that monster--was right. "I-I didn't mean to..." he stammered, reaching for the bars as if for support. Again, he realized a little too late an important detail; Hiccadu was the only reason the both of them were even there. "You don't know anything! This is all your fault!" He struck out at her, hitting the bars instead and feeling as his newly-healed knuckles began to bruise again, but he didn't care. Next to hit the bars was his foot.
He was close enough to risk self-destruction in order to so much as scratch her.
Panther watched the goings-on with wide eyes, frightened by the John she didn't know. He was a little different, more angry, from when she had last seen him. What did they do to make him like that? Whatever it was, she was afraid.
"John, stop it!" she cried, looking up at him over her knees. Just please... stop...

Lonomia cringed, the life of the stick extinguished in his frightened fist. He was only faintly aware of the new burn on his palm, so focused was the boy on the frightening sounds and rattlings around him. He curled up in the very back of his cage, trying to vaporize himself into thin air.
---
"John..." Tobart said weakly, a small warning. He glanced at Apsalar, remembering the thoughts he had just had. "John!!" Aside from a scream, it was the loudest voice Tobart had ever used. He didn't realize he even had it in him, until it was over. Fear knotted his stomach and though he hoped to help, he also hoped and prayed that he wouldn't be next.

I tried to move with a cool hand... It didn't go as I planned.
I'm full of rookie maneuvers... and gestures meant to be grand.
"My daisy, you make me go crazy, forever amaze me. Now let's let the day go lazy." Hiccadu snorted, unfazed by John's hatred.
"I might've been the one to bring both of you back to spend the rest of your lives together, little boy," she breathed, gazing at him before looking over at Panther. "But I am not the one who has made such fear appear in her eyes." She turned back to look at John. "And I am not the one who has placed such hatred within you. Think about that before you direct your rage at me."
Looking up at Devon, she rolled her eyes at him.
"Careful," she warned idly, not really caring. "You're way in over your head the instant you step outside your experimentation rooms. Better keep to your natural habitat."
Turning, Hiccadu padded away into the darkness. "My daisy, you know what I'm after- your musical laughter. A more beautiful disaster..."
I cant believe what you create... When you let your heart detonate.
You leave a path of delightful destruction. You're quite the bomb, my daisy... Daisy Cutter ~ 311

John's lips had curled back, showing his Taipan fangs. He took his hands back from the bars to hold at his sides, feeling as they slowly curled into tight fists almost involuntarily. He knew he didn't hate Hiccadu. She was just a pawn after all, Jared's remote control when he was feeling too lazy to get up and change the channel. She did whatever he wanted to, without question, without regard for herself. How could a Chimera do that, and not feel an ounce for her brethren?
There was only one b***h as ruthless as her. She had to be controlled by TAIS.
John's labored breathing subsided, and his lips slid back over his teeth. Tobart's words grounded him, for the moment. It would keep him sane.
The Chimera glowered at Devon, not dropping his gaze. "When we get out of here, I'm coming after you first."

Devon simply rolled his eyes at both Hiccadu's comments and John's threat. He wondered why Yani had programmed Hiccadu to be so mouthy. Oh well. Not important.
He requested to TAIS to take Panther down to the experimentation room. With that, he turned and returned not to the room where Apsalar and John had been in, but to the room he used to experiment with Demitria earlier.

Apsalar's eyes opened once it got a little quieter. She winced at the light, and sat up slowly - had to go slow; she was dizzy. That probably wasn't good. Cautiously refolding the wing she'd been using to cover her head, she took a slow scan.
The scientist was gone. She'd heard him speaking at one point, but it hadn't really registered. And now he'd left. Who was stuck with it now? Her eyes, a little dull with the pain, tracked confusedly around the room. Everyone appeared to be in place.
Too much thinking. Hurt her head.
She shifted against the wall that her cage shared with Tobart's, and gave him a quick glance. Yeah, he was there. So was John. So was Demitria, and everyone else she could easily see from her current curled-up position.
All right. Maybe the scientist had just gotten a wild hair and decided to come down to take a look at them.
How she wished she'd been awake enough to get a swipe in at him, too.
Pale and dazed, she half-closed her eyes against the light, absently noting that the other Chimera - Hiccadu - she was gone as well. Maybe there would finally be some quiet. That would be nice.

"Panther!" John cried, watching as she disappeared into the wall behind the cages. He reached a hand through the bars far too late for her to grab on. She hadn't been experimented on before, ever. Even when a scientist had threatened her with it, John had managed to be the one to take the treatment, either through threats, violence, or for "bad behavior." And now, he had managed to make enough noise to get her sent out, and with Devon no less. He was a harsh one, and it was difficult to tell whether the man had a personality at all. No matter what happened, there would never be a way to appeal to him.
Panther's eyes widened in fear as her cage pitched backwards and the wall behind her opened up, throwing her out of the container and onto a metal gurney, where six of TAIS's guards quickly strapped her down. Before she could even fight back, one of them was already wheeling her towards the experimentation room, two more accompanying her on either side. As if she had Apsalar's strength to get out in the first place.
A metal door slid open soundlessly, and she was wheeled inside, then taken off the gurney, held tightly by the mechanical guards' artificial skin-covered clamps, then tied down to an experimentation table. Nothing she did or said would have made a difference to the drones, they were mostly mute and didn't react to a Chimera unless they were trying to escape.

Devon walked into the experimentation room and walked straight over to the counter. He picked up a clipboard and a pair of white medical examination gloves. The doctor walked over to where Panther was strapped to the table. Devon put the clipboard down and said "welcome back. You were missed dearly" as he put on his medical gloves. "John missed you the most, especially when I was conducting experiments and surgeries upon him" Devon added just to be cruel. He then requested TAIS to remove any clothing Panther was wearing. The drones had strapped her down tight, so he didn't want to remove those straps.

Panther was still a naive little kid; being stripped down was nothing to her. Except when it was done by, and in full view of, a scientist and not by herself. It was a new feeling, one of violation.
She closed her eyes, trying to ignore what was happening, and the part about John. Her hands were strapped down though, so she couldn't cover her ears even. John had missed her. "Then why was he so mad that I got caught?" she asked, almost solely to herself. She was indeed looking for an answer, however.

"I'm sure you know the answer" Devon said. He picked up an inspection light and checked Panther's eyes, ears, nose. He then took a tongue depressor and used the inspection light to check Panther's throat.
He then began pressing lightly against Panther's body to check for any bruises or injuries not seen.

"No, you just don't want to put effort into thinking about it, dummy," she muttered from where she was on the table. Strangely, she felt nothing, as if she was emotionally numb from the world. It gave her a strange sense of courage or, maybe, foolishness. They could say whatever they would like to her, and wouldn't affect her at all. Until, unfortunately, later.
Devon touched a particularly sensitive spot just behind her shoulder, above her wing. She had most likely hit it falling down from the tree. "Ow! Stop touching me!"
