"For all the wrong reasons in my opinion. I'd be more than happy to try and forget it." Adrian said with a small chuckle as his eyes followed Amaya's to the window and the snow outside. "I'm not sure it would beat this one anyway. I've already got the best Christmas present imaginable right here in my arms." he said smiling down at her.

"You're so sappy." Amaya laughed, though she kissed him anyway, shaking her head once she drew back. "But I agree, this is the best Christmas so far. Better than anything I could certainly ask for." She said with a smile, now resting back in his arms.

Face staggered up and leaned on the lamp-post on the corner up the street from Amaya's apartment. Dear gods it had taken a lot to find them again. He walked into the pub up the street and set down several hundred dollars. "The rent of a room with a window. Foreseeable future. No visitors, no letters."
The pub owner was a Brit and knew how to keep silence, as well as being a recently-emerged Mutate and able to actually remember who Face was. He would have security for a while, as well as a halfway-decent bed to sleep in while he kept track of Amaya and her man.

"We'll have our work cut out for us next year then. It's going to be hard to top a present like this." Adrian said gently resting his chin on her head. "And I'll take my sappiness in pride. I'm going to chalk it up to being a song writer and pat myself on the back."

"I can think of a few things. But I'll just keep those to myself until next year." Amaya said. "I'm sure you will. Look at me, living in Soho and dating a mutate songwriter. I must be some sort of hipster." She laughed.

"Nah. You're living in a high end apartment and--to my knowledge--own precisely zero pieces of tacky clothing. And after that 'carb girl' comment earlier, I doubt you're the health conscious sort most hipster girls are. I'll let you know when you turn into a hipster. I'm sure getting over that phase will be a breeze compared to your little drug addiction before."

"Psh, you're no fun." Amaya said, sticking her tongue out at Adrian as she stretched a little. "For your information, I do own a hipster hat. It just happens to be super comfy. Calista asked me to stop wearing it when I pick her up from school though, so I haven't worn it today." She sighed, blowing a piece of hair from her face. "I'm not even 25 and I've become the embarrassing mom already apparently. That's depressing."

"You spent the best years of your life in hell. I forgive you if you're a little out of touch with the 'in's and 'out's of society." Adrian said releasing her from his wings so she had room to stretch. "Though now I have to see this magical hat of shame at some point." he said with a curious smirk at the thought of what it could possibly look like that Calista would think her mom uncool.

"I don't see what the big deal is. It's pretty much just a loose, grey beret. Not like it's an obnoxious color or anything." Amaya sighed, reaching behind them to pull the hat out and put it on. It was exactly that. Just a thick, loose, knit, grey beret. "It keeps my head warm." She argued, settling back into Adrian's arms now.

"Oh, that's not so bad. Almost fashionista really." Adrian commented. "And you two should be glad to be able to wear hats, because horns really make things difficult."

"I'm sure we could make a hat with horn holes." Amaya said, reaching up to feel one of his horns. "Seems easy enough. Hell you could just cut holes in any hat for them." She commented.

"Tried it with one of my old ratty hats, but it wasn't that comfortable. Not much of a hat person anyway though, so no big loss." Adrian said turning his eyes upward as he ran a hand up one of his horns, a finger running across the flattened top where he'd cut the very tip off for his guitar pick. "I think I just like to whine and complain, if my time recovering in bed didn't make it obvious."

Kityfan2 Kierra shriekd as her blade caught on the ice and she fell foreward, landing flat on her face. people around her laugh and she blushed before standing and skating over to Rock. "So that's how you want to play it?" Rock spun on himself, sticking out his tongue to her. "You started." Rock replied before he bolted across the ice rink like a professional speed skater, the wind whipping back his silver-dark blue hair

"You should try stopping then. All that whining will weigh you down." Amaya said. She gave him a brief kiss and got up to put her mug in the sink. "Plus it makes you feel worse. Just try to say to yourself, yeah it sucks, next issue. Having a "******** it" opinion about bad stuff is a whole lot more fun."

Kierra just skated off after him, determined to get him back one way or the other. She skated faster to try to catch up with him, not being the best of skater, but also not the worst. She watched him ahead of her and focused on heating up his blades to make the ice weaker.
