Tarnaria
She was right, the golds Impressing to somebody else was a weight away. "You do raise a good point, about whites. Quick little things... But you see, I'm from High Reaches, and they're little better there than greens or blues, to the higher ranking..." But that didn't mean she didn't like greens and blues. It came back, again, to them not drawing as much attention around the Weyr as a gold would, and a brown? A brown would get her a lot of the wrong kind of attention. Girls, at High Reaches, shouldn't Impress browns, was the sentiment she often got.
Dodging Jacqoul's hand, Tarnaria couldn't help giggling. "Oh! A pirate! Brownrider P'tius said one of his brothers and a sister are pirates!" Of course she knew who P'tius' brother had been, after the stir at the High Reaches hatching. The sister, though...
Excitement was quickly dashed, only for the little spotted green to approach where they stood. The little dragon, Tarnaria saw, had eyes only for... "Jacqoul?" She looked at the girl in surprise. "P'tius' sister!" She grinned wide, stepping back. "Congratulations! And thank you!" Perhaps her own time would come, but until then, when she got back to High Reaches, she'd take any of her off-time to make bread dragons, and maybe... Just maybe, one would be glazed a bright green with dark spots.
N'man of blue Fantoth and green flit Plague
Plague let out a chirrup, eyes flashing up at Papys. Her wings flared for a moment, though it wasn't a display of alarm, and then she gently patted his face.
N'man, to the side, chuckled, then murmured, "Almost... And there!" He sat back, offering Papys a smile. "It'll be numb for a bit, but so long as you don't go straining it and pop the stitches, you should be right as rain during Threadfall!" He stood, offering his hand to help Papys up.
It's my favorite when it rains during Threadfall, then the rain does a lot of the work for us!

Kainna / Female / Western It was with a sigh of relief that Kainna watched the tense scene between the sisters diffuse, and for all of them to find their lifemates in their own heartstring-twanging ways. Ahhhh, she loved it! All seemed well, so she gave Vitryx’s hand a happy squeeze before letting it go, taking a few steps away to get a better look at all the other hatchlings who were on the move. What a group of good-looking dragons they were!
Vitryx / Male / Western Things were certainly looking up. A whole slew of infants joined their chosen matches, causing tears of joy and other powerful—but good—responses. Lives changed in an instant, their future laid out before them like a wide-open door. He longed as much as any to step through it himself, but hoped those he held closest would be able to come with him. Or he with them, when they were chosen! Still, he knew full well that dragons knew best. Be it one or all who were drafted into the fighting wings, it would be right.

Vesden | High Reaches | He/Him
Vesden was shaken from his reverie for a moment when the green sniffed him but she moved on as soon as she'd come, impressing to a westerner down the line. Good, another happy pair heading off, one more peaceful impression made tonight. He gave a reflexive glance towards the hatchling he was steadfastly refusing to acknowledge was his favorite, then back towards the two who had just impressed.
This was getting... stressful, but he pushed it aside with one deep breath, no stressing out the babies. He found himself missing Jaiyce a bit, it was easier to stay in the moment and out of his head with someone to small talk to. Vesden wasn't normally one to seek out company, but spotting a sturdy looking boy he recognized from High Reaches, he did just that, slowly inching over as to not upset any of the little ones.
"Hello. Vesden, I don't think I've introduced myself to you yet."

Phryana and Gold Kleoth
Ah, their poor father. Kleoth refused to believe he had upset anyone intentionally, but that didn't change reality. Fierce, brave Miershoth, never afraid to interject herself into the fray if it meant protecting those she loved. I have no doubt. The pair of you will be an example for the Weyr to follow. She rumbled affectionately, but believing what she said with all her hearts.
Suddenly the queen was distracted from the conversation, and let out a soft bugle of joy, for her dearest Twin had found Hers! Leoth! Come, sit by us! I wish to meet Yours, and to have you meet Mine. There was no disguising the genuine warmth in her tone, and she craned her neck to watch and wait for her sister with bright blue eyes.
Another, soft pulse of warmth was sent to Tecuanith, glad for the acknowledgement. Thank you, Zhaoruith. For she knew the sentiment to be genuine, and it filled her hearts with happiness. She would have to have Phryana speak with the green's rider, later! But now, she had Leoth to focus on. Oh, almost--
Should you or Yours need anything, Felisath, please do not hesitate to ask. She offered gently, her thoughts a warm brush against her shy sister as the pair chose a quieter table to settle by. Never pressuring, never demanding, but simply making certain that the offer was known. She turned her attention to yet another of her green sisters, sending out a fond greeting. Congratulations, Jubath! Such a lovely, spirited creature you've found!

Blue & Black Rosette Green was satisfied when her sister finally found Theirs. Giving a satisfied grunt, the green took a moment to look about the rest. There were still a handful out and about, but this green had been out far longer than she would have preferred. She couldn't well be vigilant without Hers, and she certainly couldn't help care for those who were still to come without food.
No, the green knew it was soon to be time, and, feeling confident things would be fine here on out, she immediately set forth. This green knew exactly where she had to be.

Nanner Brown continued to step through the crowd of Candidates. He made sure to keep a wide girth. While he was still a bit irritable, he wasn't nearly as ferocious or angry as he had been when he first hatched. Still, if any Candidates drew too close, the brown would give an annoyed snort or small show of teeth. His patience was absolutely exhausted right now... but perhaps finding a new home, a new place, and His, would settle him out just right. His egg was gone, but he supposed that was life. Nothing was permanent. The only guarantee was that he'd someday throw himself Between as soon as His passed on.
Since that was the only guarantee, perhaps it was best he made sure His was worth such a sacrifice. But who here was worth his devotion? Who here was worth his death?
- - -
On a much lighter note Night Sky Brown was absolutely soaking up every lick of praise and attention he was receiving. He was handsome, absolutely... And keeping His waiting? Well, honestly, His would surely wait for the Red Star to turn Blue if it meant getting him as a dragon! Now come on... He used his snout to push his nose and head underneath Keleres hand, trying to entice the girl to give him a little admiration and TLC.
Still, the brown dragon knew that there was stuff to do! Good stuff! Big stuff! Great stuff! With one last little chuff, he continued to strut his way through the Candidates. Watch out now--hot stuff coming through! Not as hot at your feet though, ahaha, get it? Cause the Sands are hot? And he's hot? That was a joke, wasn't it?
Hmmm. Well. Maybe he wasn't so good at those things either. Still, the brown continued to navigate his way. Who here was a good looking as he? Still, the friendly brown had no hesitation or reservation from showing off in front of every Candidate he passed. A stretch here, a swish of his tail there...
- - - -
Ah, but such displays did catch the eye of Teal and Yellow Spiral Blue. As nice as it was be preened by his brother--it was entirely his due, thank you--there were some other things he craved. Giving a lazy stretch, the blue gave his brother one last nudge, before rolling to his feet and making his way closer to the Candidates.
Why so shy, darlings? Come closer so I might have a look. And if anyone wants to touch, well... I could really use a few good scratches. Hadn't they all scratched and pet his shell? He might not remember entirely who His was... But he thought he might remember their touch. Or maybe it was all a lie... Maybe he just wanted some good loving before he made his choice.

Blue Candy Cane gave an amused snort at his brothers antics. Still, unlike some of them, he needed no such attention or cooing. He didn't have to strut, didn't have to be in the middle, to know that he was great. No, this blue simply radiated nothing but self-assurance and confidence. He knew he was everything and a bag of chips... He knew he was something extraordinary. And oh, boy, did he have plans. The world would know his greatness soon enough.
For now though, there were things too do. Stepping forward, he reached out to croon fondly at the Eggshell Egg, encouraging them, perhaps, to open. He rubbed his head affectionately against it, being quite a tactile blue himself.

Farellen sighed as he watched more dragonets impress, he felt bad about the brown and his attempts to put his egg back together, futile but he could relate to keeping things in their place. The other brown soaking up attention was sweet, even going to a girl for pets before moving on.
When the blue asked for scritches he had to hold himself back. No.. unless the blue came to him, he wasn't going to move "Sorry kiddo, we're not really allowed" he said, just as he saw a girl going to him. He raised an eyebrow at her antics, welp, it was on her head.
~~~~~~~~~~
Helane shook her head, nope, nu uh... it wasnt allowed, she was not moving to go give him scritches, she's been asked by a baby to do something before and that had ended badly.
~~~~~~~~~~
Serfie watched as Fisher went to the blue when he asked for scritches.... BAD idea.... "Uhm.. hey, i wouldn't.....it's not allowed" she said as the girl left her and Dhawsn.

Sorsha and gold Leoth
As Sorsha and Leoth exited the Hatching Ground and made their way to the feeding tables, the gold dragonet trumpeted happily. Kleoth! My beloved twin sister! Oh, come, SorshaMine, we must hurry to join my twin! Leoth broke into something resembling a trot, holding her head high so she could see better.
Spotting the greens she had fought with immediately after hatching, she nodded in greeting to them, her tone a tad on the cool side if genuinely happy. Zhaoruith, Tecuanith, congratulations on finding Yours. I feel certain you both will be assets to the Weyr. And she left it at that, parading past them on her way to...
Kleoth, darling! I am so happy for you, my dear! With Sorsha in tow, Leoth settled next to her twin, her eyes whirling blue-green with joy. She nuzzled Kleoth's cheeks, an act that had Sorsha giggling softly; it looked for all of Pern like a pair of wealthy Hold ladies greeting each other. Dear SorshaMine, do prepare some meat for me. I hunger so! the young gold creeled, turning to press her head against Sorsha.
With a happy grin, Sorsha did just that, selecting a choice hunk of meat and cutting it into bite-sized pieces with an available knife. "Here you go," she said as she presented a chunk to the gold, who scarfed it down rather indelicately for such a refined creature. Giggling, she continued to feed Leoth as she regarded Kleoth's lifemate. The taller woman must have been from High Reaches, as Sorsha knew everyone at Western and had never seen her before.
"Hi, I'm Sorsha," she greeted cheerily. "Your Kleoth is beautiful! Congratulations!"
