+5 Extra XP Points You did great! We're not sure what you did, but you did great. Fill in post being successful or doing something like not-dying, and you can give yourself 5 extra XP points! You may put them all in one stat (at the game's end) or break them apart.
They'd be changing altitudes soon, but there was still plenty of cleaning up to do here, and Cordrath was ready to flame.

Gelith was doing swimmingly to struggle against the winds and keep flaming. Lutea beamed with pride.

he wind is rough, but you and your dragon are managing. You get a breather as your dragon flies into a small break of Threadfall. The upper altitudes must be doing a good job sweeping up!
After fighting all that wind, Gelith and Lutea had a moment to catch their breath. Phew!

This is bad. Very bad. One of your wingmates appears out of Between flaming, but instead of catching a nearby target, they catch you instead. Your dragon roars in pain, blinking hastily Between! Just how bad is the damage? Roll a D4! It's bad. Very bad. In fact, coming back into the fray, your realize your dragon slips unconscious from the pain and falls from place!
They'd been prepared for Thread.
They'd not been prepared for a wingmate to appear from Between, all aflame. Gelith, not the largest of dragons, let out a loud shriek of pain as both she and Lutea jumped Between to hopefully negate the worst of it.
But as they emerged again, pain sizzled through the green's flesh, and while Lutea was able to maintain some consciousness, Gelith would not. She wilted like a flower....then dropped.
Niobet and Aedeth flying to catch Lutea and Gelith...

Up you go! You're not going to let this dragon fall -- not on your watch! Though they land awkwardly, and start to slide, your queen is able to quickly better position herself beneath the dragon. All that practice has paid off, and she knows exactly what to do. Bravo! Now back to the Weyr so you can get back to your Wing!
It wasn't a graceful catch, but Aedeth shifted to keep the green from sliding off her back, and once steady, made the trip back to the Weyr with her carefully, leaving her and her rider in the hands of the talented healers.

Wheeling, flaming, catching thermals, fighting wind.... Threadfall is nothing if not exhausting. Greens, and blues find themselves panting with exhaustion. This is more tiring than they thought. Trying to come up from a dive, they struggle on wing and wind up getting blown right into some thread. Ouch! [+1 Stamina, Moderate Damage -4 HP ] Browns and bronzes aren't having quite as bad a time, their stamina having always been programmed to be a bit more hearty. [+3 Stamina]
Whether it felt good or not, Orthoth could and did keep flying, kept fighting the wind and kept flaming Thread when he and C'mric spotted it. Though the wind did sometimes get the better of them, they were having a much easier time than their smaller wingmates.
A larger clump of Thread falls down hard and fast. Thankfully, your dragon is on top of it, and manages to hit the target with a large belch of flame just as it passes. [+1 Target Accuracy]
Orthoth bleated, startled by the speed the clump of Thread came at them. Then he burped up a gout of flame and destroyed it. He was definitely paying attention now.

You notice that one of your wingmates is in trouble. Look out! Your dragon screams warning, and you watch as they successfully dodge catastrophe. Quote a Wingmate who took damage to Nullify Damage for that post! The quoted wingmate can remove that damage, unless they have already returned to the Weyr for healing or are already playing out a KO'd scenario.
C'mric leaned forward in his straps and added his voice to Orthoth's very-loud bellow, warning their wingmate about the incoming Thread. Fortunately they were heard and all was well.
6. +3 stamina 7. +1 target accuracy 8. Nullify damage - unclaimed 9. Nearly cooked by a wingmate! 10.

4. With some fancy wing maneuvering, and a quick roll, you manage to get out of the way successfully! You're not happy about the close call, but at least you and your dragon can carry on!
And as reward for looking out for one wingmate, another nearly roasted them alive. Wings tipped and tilted, Orthoth got them out of the way, but he bugled in surprised anger at them before retaking his place.

As you're flying, the wind picks up again, trying to knock you out of formaiton! If less than 22 feet, you get blown out of formation, but are agile enough to avoid getting hit with Thread. Hurry now -- better make it back before your Wingleader scolds you! If 23' to 35', you're able to fight it, but wind up pulling a wing muscle. Whoops. Maybe you over-compensated. -4 HP If 36'-46', you're able to fight the wind with relative ease. Unfortunately, the nearby Threadfall gets blown into your side and haunches -- and you were too big to move out of the way. Ouch, does that not burn!? Moderate Damage -8 HP
And then, as it had several times before, the wind kicked up and Thread was blown into them, slapping painfully into the pair again. They didn't bellow this time, but simply winked away and back to do their best to recover before the enemy struck again.

Condition roll: And he's out.
It was just too much. The scoring, the wind, the acrobatics that the big bronze was just not meant to perform. Everything in combination added up to Orthoth making a sudden, very small (for him) noise as the wind shifted again, and then then bronze wings went limp as he and his rider fell out of the sky.

Another dragon fell - Orthoth of Harbingers, this time. Though she still ached from her attempt to catch Nioweth, Hesperith didn't hesitate to rise to the challenge...but once again, the dragon who need so badly to be caught couldn't have been falling at a more awkward angle, and Orthoth was much, much bigger. The bronze struck her hardbefore rolling off to be saved by Fianth, and Hesperith returned to her place in formation. Everything hurt now, including her pride.
