How about we go get that clump of thread instead? Ichta offered to keep her dearest from needling about sending thoughts to Elzebuth on her behalf for G'ran. Eagerly, Aurinkoth bolted after it - but then the winds changed and blew it right towards them!

Twisting in the air, he narrowly avoided it sending flames after it before it could get too far away. Ha!

Got it!

Although his shoulder ached, Aresoth still focused on fighting, as well as trying to show off. C'ryn didn't understand what was getting into the bronze, this was not the time to show off for anyone.

Moving through a couple more clumps of Thread as he flamed them the wind caught and Aresoth was forced to change his direction completely, once more throwing C'ryn against his straps. He grabbed on and waited until Aresoth was leveled out once more before a small curse escaped his lips. It was strange that he was getting use to this, quickly scrabbling to tighten the straps on the fly.

His hand thunked Aresoth on his shoulder. Stop showing off you shaffing idiot. The bronze seemed surprised by the words. Keep pulling this and you won't have a rider on your back anymore. C'ryn's words seemed to help get through to the bronze who turned back to focusing once more.

Whatever had gotten into Aresoth before was gone now and the bronze was focusing more and more on the skies and everyone around them. C'ryn felt a little embarrassed by the actions from before but, he couldn't truly fault the growing bronze, he probably didn't even really understand why he had wanted to show off to get their attention.

He could feel Aresoth's muscles twitching as they flew, his eyes moving from each weyrling, keeping an eye out and then the bronze was suddenly calling out. One of their number was in trouble!

With everything back on track, C'ryn and Aresoth disappeared between to dodge a piece of Thread, as well as go after another one. The pair reappeared a bit farther away then they had wanted to but Aresoth opened his maw wide and belched forth a pillar of flame.

The Thread was caught and destroyed and C'ryn couldn't help but lightly give the dragon's hide a congratulatory slap on the shoulder. They had NEVER been able to produce flame that long before! The young man couldn't help but feel his confidence soar and the pair whirled back into the fight, chasing after another piece of Thread.

The healer had just finished patching him up and A'dras was shrugging back into his riding gear when he noticed one of his Wing being dunked. Once the man was out of the water and being looked at D'ast spoke to A'dras and he sighed softly, his eyes moving to look up at everything. "They are, though we seem to be suffering more then usual." He grunted this out, wondering if they needed to practice more, already making mental notes.

He walked back over to Gareth and got back up into his straps. "I'll see you up there D'ast." The two took back up to the sky, Gareth bugling their return to the Wing. A'dras could feel how his shoulder, side and some of his back was sore, it would limit movement for a while but there was no time for that, not when he was patched up and returned to fighting form.

It was hectic in the High altitude wings, though when was it not, the winds played havoc with the strands of Thread, clumping them up and creating large swaths of it. One such piece was coming towards them and it was too late to try and flame or even for Gareth to dodge it. The bronze took the brunt of it on his neck, letting out a pained trumpet as they disappeared between and then returned, the dead Thread falling harmlessly to the ground.

---------------------------------------------------------

Round 1
Rolls 1-5
[1]The wind picks up, and you fight to keep in formation. Your wings strain, but you're able to keep your place! Though your muscles ache, you're not going to give up so easily. Pern depends on you! +2 Stamina
[2] You take a direct hit from Thread! The question is, where!? Roll a D4. D4: Thread hits your leg and side, as well as your dragon's back and shoulders. Though you immediately jump between, some of the Thread is partially protected by your riding gear. As you return from its cold, and continue on the fight, it takes a moment to realize the wriggling Thread has eaten through your clothes, and is starting to burrow into you!!! GET BACK BETWEEN AND BACK TO THE WEYR TO BE DUCKED! Major Damage: -12 HP Your next post must be with the healers so you can get ducked into the pools, in hopes of drowning the borrowing Thread. Death is also an option
[3]The healer looks at your wound and gives a shake of their head. The prognosis doesn't look good, but they're determined to patch you up as best they can! Return Request Denied! Regain +5 HP but re-roll from the Healers Grid! You still haven't been given clearance to return
[4]The healer looks at your wound and starts trying to patch you up. They're not being particularly gentle on you, but you can tell they're quite invested in making sure your wound (or your dragons) heals right! Unfortunately, that's going to take some time. Return Request Denied! Regain +5 HP but re-roll from the Healers Grid! You still haven't been given clearance to return!
[5]5-7. The healer looks at your wound and starts trying to patch you up.

Wingleader Chance Rolls
[1]5-7. If a Wingleader, you were so focused on chewing out one of your wingriders who pulled a stupid move, that you actually miss catching a large clump of Thread that's falling right past you. A nearby wingmate winds up taking the hit -- as they were busy flaming a different clump of Thread and hadn't time to notice. Quote a Single Wingmate and have them lose -5 HP!

Rolls 6-10
[6]This is such a mess! Thread is everywhere. The High Altitude Wing is always in the thick of it, and today is no exception.

Never had Siloth chewed his own tongue! And never had he been so distracted! As the pair darted between, their aim was a little off.

Three.

When they reappeared, a sheet of thread writhed across them. The big Bronze bellowed in defiance and rage as he was practically engulfed in it. Again! Lifting his head a bit, Zeath turned his head to glance back at M'aze.

I'm feeling better now, mine. Thank you for taking over- But the distracted duo missed the Thread falling right towards them. There was no time to dodge, only to jump Between to shake the Thread from M'aze's arm and Zeath's neck.

Anger had clouded Kinitarth’s mind. The fight with thread and his nagging shoulder had made him a bit blind, but neither had expected a fellow dragon to appear searing flame--right at them! Yet the warning from Brieteth was enough to alert Kinitarth to twist, dropping beneath the spout of fire to only where it warmed his hide and Sam’kel. His rider quickly checked his straps; while hot from the flame, they all held firm and hadn’t caught fire.

It’s enough to help cool down the blue’s head, curling back up to formation -- and happy to have the fellow blue beside him. Thank you Brieteth! He’s calmer, sending positive warmth towards his savior. Soft, so as to not distract. They had each other’s backs, wind or not.
