Roana couldn't help but notice it, now the two bronzes were off the sands the whole feel of the hatching had taken a distinctly positive shift. The air felt less oppressive and even the queen dragon who had looked at deaths door mere moments ago was suddenly brighter, she even started to hork down a few of the large beasts that had been left as scattered offerings. Add to that the distinct decrease in maulings and Roana started to relax.
"Yea, try the healer area." Roana added her voice to another she had heard in the crowd directed at the blue riding high on his father. But there was no real time to linger on one dragon. There were still plenty of other hatchlings on the sand to worry about, and though she felt no malice or ill intent, apart from the smoldering anger in Frankenstein, well it paid to be vigilante. She was turning back to the sands when she felt a tickle at the corner of her mind. She had felt it before when she had been knocked flat by the blue's charge but now she turned to see Diesteth and the smaller form of Nicara, she waved at them to assure them both she was fine.
Then she refocused on the crack of a shell and the new Djinn spilling out, well someone thought a lot of themselves. To her surprise she suddenly found that she was enjoying herself. Before that had been impossible, she has been too tense. too weary. But now with the shift in mood it was easier to admire the babies.
She put a hand on Iathe's shoulder so she could turn on her injured leg to look at the bulging brown and his other blue brother.

Mustard Yellow NPC Egg This egg gave a few shakes, before stopping to rest. Someone inside clearly wanted out... but maybe not quite yet.
Plummy Plum NPC Egg
One of the eggs wobbled, shook, and rolled. Down the mound it went, until it came to rest closer to the Candidates. For a long moment, it did nothing. . . until the egg shattered unexpectedly, like an explosion. POP! A blue dragon SCREECHED loudly at Reenav, and any Candidates nearby that it happened to startle and cover with egg goo. Though he was clumsy on his feet, the little blue took off, stumbling through the crowd, pausing now and then to snap playfully at those who came too near. Laughter radiated through the little blue as it ran wild among the Candidates.
Eggshell White NPC Egg This medium sized egg trembled and shook from where it lay, before it slowed and stopped.
Peacock Blue NPC Egg This egg began to crack, ever so delicately. The cracks were faint, but present, but the being inside did not yet wish to reveal itself.
Greenest Green NPC Egg This egg gave a might shudder, before suddenly one brown leg popped out of it. With another shudder, a second did the same. Unfortunately, that was about all this egg had time for -- because quite suddenly those eggs started going! Faster, and faster, this egg started shuffling itself right down its mound, and into the throng of Candidates. Where it was going, it didn't know -- but it was clear the dragonet inside just wanted to move! If it wasn't careful though, it would bowl over some of the Candidates, or worse, right smack into a wall! It was clear that it had no idea where it was going -- this egg was just born to run!

D'mar & Strigonth
It took most of Dolmar's—no, he was D'mar, now, wasn't he?—focus not to stumble on his way to the feeding area. He wasn't the worst mauled, and his wounds had been mostly seen to. Numbweed was a hell of a thing, but it couldn't quite penetrate all the way inside. Strigonth's support was much needed, but the pressure of the blue against him made bolts of tress lance along his cracked ribs. He would sleep very well tonight, he was sure. But first...
He could feel hunger, subtle but demanding, leeching from the blue. A delighted desire for bloody fresh meat. He very. very gently lowered himself to sit, biting back a grunt of discomfort. Strigonth coiled at his side, eyes scanning the weyrlingmaster, his siblings, all of it. Well. This would simply have to do. With supreme effort D'mar managed to drag a bucket of meat over, taking a knife to sliver the meat even finer than it already was. It was extra work, and it taxed him to do it, but he bore the effort unflinchingly. Too large chunks could cause thicktail, or indigestion. Portion control was also easier with many small items, not a few large ones. The eyes were larger than the stomach, after all, and perceived amount eaten...
I do know how much to eat, thank you. Strigonth gently, but firmly chided his rider. There was a note of tenderness to the reproach though—he could feel the pain and strain dragging his rider's body like claws. It was wise, in times like these, to lean on lessons he'd been taught. And D'mar remembered every one about being a weyrling.

Talela and Vimiath
The moment the elder’s feet touched the sand, the stored heat billowing up around her chilled body, Talela laughed. There was Vimiath, wide-eyed and waiting! The gold was over in a flash to stand in front of her, nosing and snuffling and burying her in affectionate thoughts. Talela laughed again as she stroked the rough, flaking hide of Vimiath’s cheek. “You look awful, love. Didn’t anyone offer to oil you while I was indisposed?”
You look awful too, dearest. And yes, of course they offered! But I refused. Why would I care to shine when you could not?
Talela’s bright eyes traveled up the dragon’s neck, surveying the damage. And what was this? A passenger? Tally smiled up at Akaris, recognizing her from the Touching. “I’m glad to see you haven’t given up on dragons,” she said.

Oerlen answered Kambri's grin with a snort that turned into an airy chuckle as the other young man spread his arms wide. After all that had happened, he still saw no problem with offering up his tender underbelly to a herd of mauly infants. But he had asked so nicely. Maybe just for a second...
Feeling a little foolish, Oer's arms started to lift, freezing a hair away from his sides as the Djinn sauntered out of his shell. The candidate smiled, wide and welcoming, like he'd spotted his favorite performer across a crowded hall. The first egg he'd touched had finally hatched. It seemed he knew quality when he felt it, at the very least.
The other dragonets were really shaking now, and Oerlen's arms fell quicker than they'd risen. "I like my insides where they are, but I tried, right? I'll hug them when they've Impressed, if their riders let me."

Eyes whirling a rapid grey, the Banshee stared sadly out among those gathered. No, no, no! Wheeeere! Where was his? I cannot find you, where are you? Banshee cried, as his father turned his head this way and that to help him. But nobody could help him. No one but...
Jalarusmine, please stop hiding! I cannot find you, and I need you. Please come find me?
The baby gave a pitiful wail, creeling and keening, trying so hard to get his rider's attention! Where? Where was he?
I cannot find yoooou. Such a hard time to be such a little, round Blue dragonet. And one whose rider was hiding! Why was he so far away? It didn't seem as though he should be, but no matter where he looked, Banshee could not see him. Jalarus, please. Your Loreleth needs you.
