"If we're really lucky, they'll visit again even sooner to see me with my baby belly." Van said with a chuckle before his cheery expression fell away ever so slightly. "Going to let him know someone's after our baby?"

 

[M3Gnificent]

"I don't know. Maybe." Mala said, unsure as to whether or not they should bother telling the twins about it. "It might help keep Anise defended. Then again, it might just scare them."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"What, the kidnapping that I'm sure could easily be stopped with enough preparation, or their dad having a baby?" Van said, a little worried about what she could be insinuating.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"The kidnapping. This is a family of thieves, Van. We of all people know how to get past careful defences." Mala stated worriedly.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

Van heaved a small sigh of relief. "You really need to be more specific, you had me worried there."

 

[M3Gnificent]

"What? What did you think I was saying?" Mala asked, not realising yet that he thought she might've been speaking ill of Van's pregnancy.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"That the twins would be scared of pregnant dad...." Van admitted with a mutter, feeling rather silly now in retrospect.

((I love how Kai and Larai have officially been dubbed 'the twins'. It's like Ouran. XD ))

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Why? I'm sure they've experienced wierder in their travels." Mala assured Van, hugging him and Anise close.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"If they have, they'd better tell us about it. I could use the reassurance." Van said with a slight chuckle.

 

[M3Gnificent]

Mala grinned. "Van, we've all lived for a very long time. Chances are, they've had dozens of strange encounters to tell you about."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"I know, and I could probably stand to hear them soon." Van said with a slight sigh. "But I'm still just two months in and we have a baby to protect." he said smiling back at Anise.

 

[M3Gnificent]

Mala was glad that they arrived back home not long afterwards. At least, for the first five secconds. Now, though, she couldn't help but feel insecure. As if she were a poor example of a mother, as if she didn't have what it took to protect Anise, as if none of them were safe...

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Sure you don't want some help setting up our defenses?" Van asked as he put a comforting arm around Mala.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"Well, I could use a little help, if you are up to it." Mala said sheepishly.
