"Which means being careful to not upset any one." she said nodding. "And I hope we can find some time to really get to know what the heck we are doing." she ran a hand through her hair out of habit.

So why don't we just hurry up and get this done already. The sooner we're out of here the better.

"Right, no pissing anyone off, got it. Maybe I should keep my mouth closed then." She gave an embarrassed smile. "I seem to have this wonderful talent for insulting people."

"Alright looks like I'm the one getting us through the front gate." Cthugarai said, just as the rounded a corner in the road.
A fairly large wooden gate stood before them, on one side there was a guard, busy herding a large group of people through a small door in one of the side of a rock wall.
Strolling up to him Cthugarai said, "Is this the town of Rodunia?"
((So who wants to roll a d20? Last time I rolled to see if I could convince guards I did really well so who wants to try their luck? ^_^))

((Last time I was using the % system and high passed... in this one 5 or higher gets us in the door ^_^))
"Congratulations, you found it, now go on in, I don't have all day." the Guard said sarcastically, a twinge of anger on his voice.
"Thank you." Cthugarai said to the guard. "Lets go in." he said with authority to the rest of the group.
The moment they entered the front gate they could see the entire Marketplace, the thriving hub of the city was overcrowded and bustling with people looking for wears, shops lined up in a circle and lining the sides of streets.
But instead of taking the straight line to the center of town, Cthugarai took one of the more sparsely traveled roads and motioned for everyone else to follow.
"We should be able to find Cadios around here somewhere." Cthugarai whispered.

"What does he look like?" Kerrigan asked Cthugarai in a hushed voice. She looked around cautiously as they walked, feeling a little uneasy, though for no reason she could discern. She tried smelling the air, but couldn't catch anything unusual.

"I wish I could tell you Kerrigan... but he's always been one for theatrics. every time I see him, he looks entirely different. I'm not sure if he uses magic or makeup. The one thing that stays the same is his love... for riddles" Cthugarai said as he came to a wall that had a simple riddle on it.
"The way before you lies in waste
The way behind you gives subtle chase
The way beneath you rises to your face
The way above you Shows your test."
"Now what do you make of THIS Kerrigan?"

"I think I'm gonna like this Cadious guy. And I think we should go sideways, since it doesn't say anything about that," Kerrigan told him with a grin before leaning in to get a closer look at the riddle. "But putting jokes aside, I think this is rather interesting." She traced her fingers along the words idly as she thought, then began to speak. "Watch your step, lest you fall on your face, but never stop moving, as the unknown enemy gives chase. Solid appearances deceive; walls and floors no more protection provide, as the answers you next seek, and your next task, come from the sky." She stood up straight again. "I think that might be what it means."

Elcia looked up then back at the riddle. "I don't like the sound of the first line, but I agree with Kerri. Though the second to last line might have more subtle meanings, there are various ways the floor can come up to meet you. Watch what you step in." She warned. "And I'm not talking about the usual things to watch out for in a crowded city."
((yay riddles! Shall repeat her self in saying Kusaragi should read The Riddle Master by Patricia Anne McKillip))

"in my experience with this guy one of the lines of riddles usually is literal.
Since the last line does not have a word that starts with the letter "B" I'm going to take a literal meaning. All the ways ABOVE that line are Our riddle. This street name IS "B". There will be trap, you cant trust the walls, and something will be chasing you... Does this sound like a Labyrinth to anyone else? But to get to how we continue... there are seven doors on this street on our way in... and there are only five "B"s in this riddle, so I think that we should take the fifth door... unless the doors lie to us too...
Just like Kerrigan- I mean Gwylan said.... it does not mention the sides, so taking a direct route is not the way we're going."

"Ugh, I've never liked solving riddles," Kerrigan sighed as she looked at the words again. "Which makes me more of an outcast because the f- ... my family delights in riddles. And it does sound like a Labyrinth to me too. I hope whatever's chasing us, that it's not a minotaur. Not only would that really suck, but that'd be like the oldest trick in the book. So really, I have no idea. I'm guessing you have a better concept of what goes into this guys riddles than any of us, so, lead on Quinn." She gave Cthugarai a friendly, encouraging pat on the back.
