Valineaux
"Whuh? Wait what the fu—" Valineaux caught herself, wide-eyed, and stared at the green behemoth that broke the conversation in half. Her arm hadn't yet left her companion's shoulders before the dragonet barged straight into her brain. Into her thoughts, no less. Like she belonged there or something.
Like she belonged —
It struck her then — first a chilling numbness, peeling away all frustration and feeling for the crowded beach hatching. All thought fell away, as if poured straight onto the sands. And in its place, in a slow but surefooted growth, she felt an indescribable murmur. A thread of hope, twined with happiness, twined with love, twined with excitement, twined with pride, twined with daring, twined with that ephemeral glow on nights where she felt most alive. Where she felt like herself — from every tip of her body.
But what she felt then was an incomplete account, for she felt beyond what occurred within her own body. She felt the gentle swell of skin, the great breath taken, the need and the hunger and the excitement and the exasperation and the thirst and the heat, all explosive and yet abstracted from herself. And she knew, then, that she'd be saddled with this damned loudmouthed dragon for the rest of her life.
And they were going to light High Reaches up! Soon a smile wormed its way onto Valineaux's face, then it blossomed into a full, daring, arrogant grin. "How 'bout that?" She looked from the dragonet, to the stranger, to Dorame, still grinning like her face threatened to break. "All I had to do was stand here chatting with you tunnelsnakes and I impress without even trying! Not a bad deal, eh?"

Sylfie
This was just...every flavor of awkward, wasn't it? She still felt like a fool for almost plowing into the poor, sweet Harper, and she honestly couldn't tell if she felt worse about it than she would have if he'd been annoyed or rude. But however she felt, she could say with confidence that she was nowhere near as uncomfortable as she had been when confronted with a wingleader. Not that she wasn't an out-of-sorts mess regardless.
"I'm from, um, High Reaches," she answered, a bit more promptly this time, although with a hesitance in her tone. Sylfie didn't feel properly from High Reaches, but that was where they lived now, so. That was the answer. As to the bronzes, she blinked and looked over fleetingly. "O-oh, they did?"
She had really not been paying nearly as much attention to the clutch as she should have been, all wrapped up in one awkward interaction after another. When she looked back to Oseathiol, she did notice that he was looking rather pink, and she was...feeling rather pink herself. "I was going to, ah, go back. To Hesperith, I mean. Get a better view...or just some shade. W-would you like to..?"
That would be a good apology for almost running into him, right?
Rio
Rio was really quite relieved that, when he took his leave to get in line as bidden, the brown didn't get upset with him. Or if he did, it was a complaint only his rider heard. But the line was ultimately affected, the bronze found his, the picky green finally found someone worth plucking from the group, and they were left with the blue looking calmly for His. And then one of the larger eggs split, and there was an absolutely precious gold! Poor baby didn't seem quite ready for the spotlight, however, so much as he would have liked to coo over it, he respectfully kept his focus on his companions, though he did quietly wish her the best.
"This is turning out to be quite the shiny affair, isn't it?" he chuckled, noting this strictly as a conversational observation. He wasn't truly concerned one way or the other with how many metallics were or weren't in a clutch, it was purely a point of curiosity. It could be all greens and he would marvel over it jsut as brightly...probably moreso, really.
Talis
"I doubt it'll be today, unless I'm the most absurdly lucky person on Pern," Talis snorted out with a laugh. "Candidate for a whole week, on an island in the middle of nowhere, Impressing from a clutch that wasn't even supposed to be ours." If there really was such a thing as luck, she was fairly certain she'd exhausted her supply of it for awhile when she'd been Searched. She shrugged again. "Turns are fine, I've got no complaints."
"At least I got to see the ocean," she added. And sun. Way, way more sun than she was used to.

Akaris
Akaris flashed Rylyrr a bright, encouraging smile and rocked back on her feet, once again swinging his hand a little. When he asked her if the gold might be hers, though, she stilled and thought about it, gaze shifting from the shimmering hatchling to her unhatched siblings and then back to her friend. "I don't know," she said honestly, uncharacteristically pensive. Whether or not a dragon of any color would ever be hers was something she thought about sometimes (she was a candidate, after all!), but after all that had happened they had become uncertain thoughts she didn't share...well, except with Junenth, but he was easier to talk to about that sort of thing than most people. Rylyrr wasn't most people either, though. "I don't know if a dragon will want me. I used to think so."
And had been quite certain that she would be perfect for a gold's discerning taste, at that, not that she had been one to turn her nose up at all the pretty greens, handsome blues, and striking whites. "But it's alright if they don't," she decided with a nod; maybe it was something to do with their idyllic surroundings, but she felt more at peace with this revelation than she had previously, enough to finally speak it aloud. "I'm happy."
She scanned the edges for A'ral and R'mor, although with the line beginning to break up, the view wasn't clear. Their dragons, however, were always easy to pick out, and she smiled and offered a little wave. Yes, she was...very happy, actually. Unexpectedly so.
Shaddaling apparently I lied about going to sleep, Akaris found it necessary to get this out, like...now
Uta just checking in with Papa Junenth
