Fine then... *Lin performs mitosis and transforms to Elphalba and Glinda*
Elphalba: I'm limited... just look at me. I'm limited... And just look at you - you can do all I couldn't do... Glinda... So now it's up to you... for both of us. Now it's up to you...

aretoo joins in with a ditty from Cabaret: "And the sun will rise, and the moon will set, and you learn how to settle for what you get. It'll all go on if we're here or not, so who cares? So what? So who cares? So what?"

To add to the menagerie of musicals, Lin un-mitosises and performs a bit of Jekyll and Hyde
Letting go... when the time comes that I must say goodbye to you... It's the last thing in life I ever want to do... I know it has to be... But it's so hard for me... Letting go... facing up to the truth that it is time to part... giving way to the day that may well break my heart... Father you always knew... that's what I had to do...

From A Chorus Line: "Kiss today good-bye, the sweetness and the sorrow. Wish me luck; the same to you, but I won't forget what I did for love; what I did for love. Look, my eyes are dry; the gift was ours to borrow. It's as if we always knew, and I don't regret what I did for love, what I did for love! Gone, love is never gone, as we travel on, love's what we'll remember..."

Awwwww... I haven't heard that one... I'm enjoying the lyrics so far...
Lin performs one more song before heading back to his homework - from The Producers (A musical I found to be so offensively funny)
MAX: Listen, Roger: did you get a chance yet to read Springtime for Hitler?
ROGER: Read it? I devoured it! I for one, for instance, never realized that the Third Reich meant Germany.
MAX: Yeah, how 'bout that? Then you'll do it?
ROGER: Do it? Of course not. The theatre's so obsessed With dramas so depressed It's hard to sell a ticket on Broadway Shows should be more pretty Shows should be more witty Shows should be more... What's the word?
LEO: Gay?
ROGER: Exactly! No matter what you do on the stage Keep it light, keep it bright, keep it gay! Whether it's murder, mayhem or rage Don't complain, it's a pain Keep it gay!
CARMEN: People want laughter when they see a show The last thing they're after's a litany of woe
ROGER & CARMEN: A happy ending will pep up your play...
ROGER: Oedipus won't bomb...
CARMEN: If he winds up with Mom! Keep it gay!

Hehehe Gots ta love The Producers. ^_^
"What I Did For Love" is a great, bittersweet li'l tune. A group of dancers has just seen one of their own blow his knee out, and the (prospective) director asks, "So. What if you couldn't dance tomorrow? What would you do?" And the song is one character's (Lopez's) response. ^_^
(Unless you're watching the movie version, in which Richard Attenborough turned it into a love song between the director and an aging dancer coming back to the chorus after a turn in Hollywood. Not that I'm bitter about that or anything. wink )
