Oh no, look out! A small clump of thread broke through the ranks, and has managed to hit your and your dragon. It is an ugly tangle, and though you blink between, it's going to hurt! [Moderate Damage -5 HP. You are now flying with a Painful status effect. This will negate your next immediate rolls XP and double damage if the roll includes set damage (or has you roll for damage).
A'zota had just enough time to see the Thread coming their way, immediately realizing they wouldn't have time to avoid it--when flame suddenly incinerated the stuff to ash. He caught a glimpse of a metallic hide, and Eriath looked on with approval. D'zrak and Slidrianth. She confirmed, fond of any former Weyrling that she'd had a hand in teaching.

You're low on firestone! If you've already replenished recently (within the last 5 posts) you may choose to skip this roll and just do a general post for no XP. OR you can keep it and blame it on a faulty bag, or some other excuse for being without stone. Call for one of the weyrlings to send you another sack of stone! [Flag down a weyrling! Post this code in your next post and see if a weyrling can get to you!
I Need Some Firestone!
A'zota clicked his tongue irritably as he realized they were low on stone, asking Eriath to signal for some more. The toss from the incoming rider was smooth, and though it was dark, A'zota still offered a salute and asked Eriath to pass on his thanks.

NPC Kvenja and brown Ophoreth - flying stone to A'zota and Eriath...
Kvenja picked up a sack of firestone and headed off on a resupply run.

All that practice and hard work pays off. You manage to get the firestone up there successfully, and avoid blowing into any strands of Thread. Your toss is a bit shaky, but it lands its mark just fine. Good job!
It wasn't the best toss she'd ever made, but the sack found it's mark and that was what counted. The pair were off and out of the way again.

By Faranth! You and your dragon pull off a pretty awesome move to catch some Thread that's fallen through. You're able to save one of your Wingmates! Quote one of your Wingmates who took damage this Round! This will remove damage and any possible negative effect from that roll!
The pair kept their eyes peeled... or, did so as best they could in the night, anyway. Thread was coming in hard and fast due to the wind, and more was reaching the lower altitude. Suddenly, a very familiar blue and his rider were in danger of an incoming clump, and Eriath blinked Between with A'zota's guidance.
Above you, Holleth! She warned, flaming the clump down before it could strike the young dragon and inflict a nasty score. Satisfied, she flitted back Between to regain her position.

All was quiet for now. Eriath kept her formation in the wing, fighting against the wind on occasion.

Hour 4, Round 1 1. -5 HP (+ additional -5)
As Zijianth focused on flaming one clump of Thread, another blew into him from behind! Thinking quickly, A'ryx took him Between to halt the damage, but he had no doubt they'd both be needing a lot of redwort and numbweed after all was said and done.
Though Zijianth was practically covered in his own ichor, he wasn't ready to head to the Healers, not yet. They were practically done, and he had plenty of fight left in him still!

Zijianth had been doing an awful low of flaming, and it was high time they replenished their stone so they'd have plenty for the remainder of the fight, so the bronze called for more.
Retired NPC J'tugo and Losalmuth Firestone Run for A'ryx and Zijianth!
The hour was late, and the sky was dark, which would make throwing firestone to riders in need that much harder, but once again, J'tugo and Losalmuth ventured forth to make a much-needed delivery. Still, though it wasn't anywhere near as strenuous a task as actually fighting Thread, they'd been at this awhile, and when J'tugo went to toss one of their sacks of firestone, he pulled something in his back, and the sharp pain caused him to underthrow. Well, ah. Look out below...?
Determined, the old bluerider threw his backup sack, and this time, in spite of the sharp pain in his back, was successful. But maybe they ought to call it quits for one day...

No sooner had they received their fresh firestone - A'ryx spared a thought for those below, hoping the underthrown sack didn't hit anyone on its way down - than the wind kicked up something fierce, and in fighting against it, Zijianth pulled a muscle in his wing.

This Fall was taking its toll, to be sure, but it wouldn't be much longer now. With any luck, they'd hold on all the way through, but they weren't going to take any needless risks, either. If they had to go and visit the Healers, so be it...but for now, they could manage awhile longer.
