Mini RP - Kanto Badge Run (Reno)

[Reno Vantas]

Staring at the dust cloud for a moment as a slightly smug smile crossed his face, Reno awaited some shrill and angry response from the woman. After about a minute of silence and that dust cloud still hanging in the air, the smile began to slowly fade away from his face. "It's an illusion, isn't it?" Reno rhetorically asked his partner Pokemon, giving a snap of his fingers and a slight release of Psychic energy to dispel the mirage. He found the ground intact and Io missing as the clouds cleared. Must have teleported away, only explanation that he could see. But what was up with her? And who was Vic-whatever? These questions were better left for another day, the trainer thought to himself as he gathered his two semi-conscious Pokemon and moved forward. Maybe the Gym Leader would be nice enough to let him recover after the mild to major destructive path that had just been ripped through the gym.

Reno would shout an indignant response towards Blue as he made his way to the healing machine. "Yeah, well, maybe if you hadn't decided to hire on my arch-rival as the final trainer, I'd have made it a lot sooner." Locking his Pokeballs into the device, Reno turned to speak with the gym leader. "So then. Cheerleaders. That's unique. Not judging, especially since I'm the guy with the robot arm here. But why?"

Letting a small smirk cross his face as he stared the opinionated Gym Leader across from him, Reno quickly drew out one of his Pokeballs before realizing he needed to do a quick mental tally on his numbers. Okay, he had Harleen, Gruff, Hook, Nova, Tsuki, and.....a quick glance back at the healing machine gave him the answer to his last Pokemon as he saw Sparks' Pokeball sitting there.

"Can't argue with the logic some days. But I figure its time to prove why I'm Snagem's Co-Leader." Reno shot back, grabbing the decidedly dark colored Pokeball and throwing it towards the Exeggutor. Midair, the device would snap open and release a Weavile that would simply fly with the momentum that it was provided to unleash a Quick Attack on the Exeggutor.

Tsuki would stare at the strobing lights that were now the Exeggutor's eyes, beginning to slowly sway under their thrall. Well, Tsuki swayed a bit to one foot before raising an eyebrow at least. "Night Slash. Wake them up." Reno called, a small smirk beginning to cross his face. Tsukiwas quick to respond, a shadowy energy surrounding her claws as she shot forward to slash across the Exeggutor as many times as she could.

The Weavile didn't stand a chance against the close range Seed Bomb. The dropped head would detonate as the Ice type began to scramble away, hurling her into the air from the force of it. Letting a small smile cross his face, Reno would give a long, cool stare at the Gym Leader. "Should have kept her close. Tsuki, Icy Wind."

It took only a moment for Tsuki to flip herself around from the explosive momentum she had, a buildup of energy surrounding her until she swiped towards the Exeggutor. As she did, the air would visibly chill and whip towards the Psychic Pokemon, aiming to freeze the thing.

Looking at the sliding Exeggutor as it began to freight train towards where Tsuki was standing, Reno couldn't help but see an obvious solution to this attempted head on collision. "Tsuki, Quick Attack. Lets see how well it can stop." Reno said, watching as the Weavile dashed away from its location in the newly forged ice trail along the ground. Provided the crash was as catastrophic as he was hoping for, Tsuki would be presented with the opportunity to manage some slash at the Grass type from the Quick Attack. Otherwise, she would keep her distance and watch for what else the great tree could cause.

Tsuki would slam into the area of increased gravity like a diver into a vat of syrup, visibly slowing as she began to drift slowly towards where the Exeggutor was still splayed on the ground. "Very cunning." Reno admitted, watching as one of Tsuki's toes grazed the floor. "But this is going to make you feel a little different." The Weavile would kick off the floor towards the Exeggutor and come flying towards the Psychic type at much greater velocity than her falling spped would've suggested. The Feint Attack would come sliding in, with Tsuki combining actual effort to push past the gravity effect and skating along the ice slick she had touched down on to make sure the attack came in with a great amount of force.

Tsuki had no chance against the Grass Knot, the strands of green rope-like material lashing her to the ground with a deafening impact from the increased Gravity. "Hmm. Aren't you clever? Tsuki, Dark Pulse." Reno shot back with, watching as the Weavile drew in as deep a breath as her crushed lungs could manage. Her mouth would gain a dark glow for a moment before she spat at the Exeggutor, firing off a Dark Pulse towards her opponent that was still on the ground in front of her.
