Serfie was NOT doing okay, she had let herself get dragged along to Shahera's group of friends, more out of numbness than a conscious act, she was too busy watching, keeping quiet as the other girl chattered, Serfie didn't do chatter, she wasn't that skilled really in small talk. She stood, watching th dragons hatching, mauling, Impressing .... wait what?! NO! that horrible Demon bronze was coming this way .... nonononono.... oh thank Faranth, he ignored her as he Impressed to one of the group she found herself with. The girl felt sick, but somehow... braver with a friend by her side....sort of anyway.
Oh my...oh Faranth, that was a green more vicious than the Bronze from before, the Bronze had been maiming, this little creature, seemed to just want to KILL... Serfie dry heaved, there was nothing left in her stomach to bring up... oh no.. please let this just be over with SOON....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Farellen drifted in and out of conciousness, barely registering what wass going on around him, then Numbweed... blessed Numbweed eased the worst of the pain, despite still bleeding freely from muscle deep gashes to his chest, teeth had met through his shoulder, from both the fighting Bronzes and the Brown that had tried to help so he had multiple, deep punctures, his right eye was beyond saving and the rest of his face? well he was going to have some intersting scarring to explain away.... if he survived, his cheek was torn and would need stitching to prevent him having a permanent hole there, thankfully though, he wasn't going to die right now ... his ribs were cracked but not broken and his lungs, by some miracle, were undamaged. His broken arm however, besides being snapped, was also deeply punctured, it was up to the Healers whether or not that would mend enough that he could Stand at another hatching again.
Farellen was aware enough to hear K'gan's comment "coul..nt ...efore" he breathed, trying to smile through it all, "no' scare....my faul.." he wheezed at Nora "th..whi...dead?" he asked again, he couldn't bear it if the little creature had died, because of his damned stupidity.
(sorry for not quoting everyone .. it's been a VERY long night and day for me)
The Werewolf Running around wildly, nipping at the heals of her brown-legged and egg-headed brother, the little green quite suddenly stopped.
Oh wait.
Now that looked like fun! Spring forward, the little one made a beeline for the most fun of all...
The Greenest Green Egg Zoooooom! The egg suddenly had another leg burst out, but this suddenly meant it's smooth sailing got all sorts of tangled. The addition meant the egg cut a hard to the right! With some added momentum from its speed, the egg went CRASH as it hit The Eggshell White Egg, narrowly missing The Goblin in the process.
While the egg itself exploded, a blue dragonet went flying, and landed hard in the sands, rolling a ways, and coming to rest in a heap of wings.
The Eggshell White Egg only suffered minor damage. There was the smallest of holes in the shell, barely large enough for a claw tip to fit through, and the crack around it was minor. But oh, how this egg shook, and shivered with anger. HELP ME! GET ME OUT! SISTER! There was a growing rage within the egg as the creature within reached out to its sisters for aid.
stella cinere So you know the Gobbo wasn't hurt -- but might be sprayed with egg goo and shell bits.
Esfir
Trying to take Rylyrr's excellent advice, Esfir forced herself to take deep, slow breaths, made herself focus solely on him. It didn't completely help, but it made things a little easier to bear.
Still, if her voice trembled and caught, who could blame her?
"Momma didn't want me to come," the words poured out. "I was supposed to be a good girl and marry a Lord Holder to make her proud. Poppa and the Harper were both fighting with her to let me go when the Search riders came. If she's in the stands or ever even hears of this, she'll try to take me back home. And I don't want to go home."
In spite of how terrible everything was, Esfir would still rather be in the Weyr than home. But oh, she wished that the little green would calm down. Would realize how terrible what she was doing to those boys was.
Jagmund
The claws released him. He tentatively raised his head, breaths haggard. No, the bronze hadn't saved him, as he had hoped... the green had found another victim, a boy who had been with the Demon's first victim.
The blood... how much had he lost? He wanted to stay on the sands, wanted to fight, to find his partner... but he couldn't do that while dead, could he?
His vision once again threatened to leave him as he dragged himself to his feet again, yelling the whole time against the pain. Pure adrenaline allowed him to stumble quickly to the edge of the sands, where he was quickly grabbed by a brave healer. He let them move him, set him down, start ripping away the last bit of his robes... He didn't have the strength to argue.
...
Boys were distinctly unimportant when a sister was calling for her aid! Leaving Marinel laying on the ground, she passed the Cobalt Bronze as he attempted to stop her, and he gave a keen of panic, for she was headed toward...
The Eggshell White egg. The Scarlet Green laid into that tough shell, ripping and tearing with all of her fury. OPPRESSION! She needed to free her sister! NOW!
With a great whack of her tail, she shattered the egg.
And then it was time for more blood. Careening through the crowd, she set her sights on Huarwar and Henwas, shrieking her rage and disgust at the male oppression clearly evident on the sands. She went flying through the air, claws outstretched, ready to take the former down...
But it was Henwas with which she connected. Confusion filled the Green, and then anger. DENIED! But perhaps this was a better target, anyway. This one was filled with thoughts of how things should be, and she did not want any part of them.
Make them stop!
Cobalt gave a roar, dragging himself across the sands, trying to reach her in time.
Crunch. She bit down, and bit down hard.
Up, more or less. His legs worked, that was a good sign. His right arm hung limp at his side, and he was bleeding - shards he was bleeding, from here and there and everywhere - but he got halfway to the Healers under his own stumbling power, at which point someone ventured out to help him, and that was fine. At least he'd dragged himself that far, didn't need to be outright carried.
Although now that he did have support, and was no longer under direct threat, Dezerac started to sag, and drift away from awareness as he became only one of a number who needed tending to.
Saimwen was standing right next to Marinel when it happened. He screamed shrilly as the green dragon - the one who had been rampaging around as it was - threw herself at Mari. He didn't even see it soon enough to react, although he flinched back from the attack. It was all teeth and claws - he got splashed with blood - and Saimwen didn't have the slightest clue what to do. He couldn't push the dragon, that would be looked down upon. The smart thing would be to just get out of the way, but he couldn't abandon Mari, not when he felt towards him the way he did, not when they'd already been separated once. So he just screamed.
---
Dharzol was so lucky to have Rasthell. Ever calm and collected, even when his own Impression was on the line. And yet, just when it seemed that things had calmed down for a moment, they picked up right again. There was a green - a green! - on the rampage. For some reason, this was a little less jarring to Dharzoll, and he was finally getting a hold of his breath, of his heart rate. The attacks weren't anywhere near him, thank goodness. But there were so many dragonets on the Sands, but none approached too close. It was as if he were a dragon bad-luck charm.
Although, he couldn't help but crack a smile at some of the shenanigans. The egg with legs sticking out was a sight to see - although it didn't last much longer, as the dragon ran straight into a sibling's egg. It seemed this was a bountiful clutch - not an egg that wasn't going to hatch or at least make an appearance. But he shifted nervously as things became more hectic, more bloody. Compared to this green dragonet, that bronze had been nothing. "This is brutal," he breathed to Rasthell, as it had indeed been one of the most violent hatchings Dharzol had seen in all his Turns. "Here's to hoping all the dragonets Impress at once, huh?" He laughed a bit nervously. He wasn't even sure he'd want one of this group, with their violence. Dharzol was a coward - not a menace. He didn't know if he'd ever be able to relate to one of these.
