Even for a bronze as small as Pipith, it was difficult to maneuver well to catch all the windblown Thread, but he still did his best.

Spotting a wingmate in trouble, Firith dove in quickly to flame down each clump before any of them could make contact with anything.

No one could ever accuse Firith of being friendly, but she did have some regard for her wingmates, even if she didn't often show it. Her encouragement, when she did give it, was gruff.

And there was someone in trouble! Firith bugled out a warning, hoping to spare them a world of hurt.

Once again, Firith was quick to spot trouble brewing and swoop in to stop it, skillfully flaming down a few more clumps of fast-falling Thread.

Firith had been doing exceptionally well at avoiding any hits from Thread, but a little sliver did finally catch the edge of her wingsail. She quickly hopped between, and ultimately very little damage was done.

Roll: 20 - You appear from Between and find the space you were hoping would be clear now has a large sheet of Thread being guested towards it. You've only a moment to decide where to go, and both you and your dragon pick a spot and hop Between in an attempt to avoid Thread. Roll a D4 and take whatever damage or XP you're given!

Hop....hop!! In an instant the pair managed to double jump, narrowly avoiding thread. It was a miracle of a move, really for the huge bronze, but he merely huffed, as proud and sure as ever.

Of course he'd just bragged to Pipith that the wind was nothing... but now he had to perform too! The bronze, heaving his bulk around and trying to imagine what being a green would be like in the air, dove and twisted through the falling clumps, belching flame when he had the chance.

Roll: 8 - As you're flying, the wind picks up again, trying to knock you out of formation! If 36'-46', you're able to fight the wind with relative ease. Unfortunately, the nearby Threadfall gets blown into your side and haunches -- and you were too big to move out of the way. Ouch, does that not burn!? Moderate Damage -8 HP

Dangit! DANGIT! DANGIT!! The wind, OF COURSE, caught his wide wings and threw him... and threw thread. It stung, BURNED, and Nasath had to scream and fling himself away between. Okay, THAT one had hurt, forget the ash... they were almost done, at least... almost...

Once again, the wind picked up, tossing Savaceth back with a suddenness that surprised both rider and dragon. Thankfully, the green dragon was able to use her small size to her advantage; though Thread was blown about the pair, the agile green managed to maneuver herself around the threat. There were a few close calls, but by the time the gust died, Savaceth was no worse for wear.

Savaceth quickly resettled herself into position. Though her eyes whirled a bright yellow-orange, she was determined to do right. Every patch she managed to burn down was one less threat for those below her.

Soon enough, both rider and dragon were in a solid routine of sweeping up the patches and strands that rained upon them from above. At this altitude, it was easier for the green to wheel and turn on wing. This is what being a dragon rider was all about. Nicely done, Savaceth! The man quietly encouraged. Focusing on their duty was all he could do at this moment... and perhaps that was for the best.

The Enemy had taken his love... every breath of flame was, in a way, vengeance. He could never bring him back, but maybe he could do his part to ensure no one else suffered the loss of a love one to the ancient enemy.

A sharp, blinding pain caused the green to hiss and veer. J'cheyn winced, but quickly visualized a spot of clear airspace just ahead and to the right of their current position.

The green made the jump, the pain immediately easing amid the cold nothingness.

Once they appeared again, she was quick to belch forth another blast of fire. A new tear through her wingsail, but it would grow back and heal with time.
