Katalina nodded slowly, patting Marie's head again absently. "Okay," she said at last. "But...I'll have to keep an eye out, too. I'll warn any others about the possibility of nets. Fish hooks. Stuff." She looked back at him, and her face was trusting. "We'll find out who's doing this, right?"

Aries swam towards the little serpant girl. "It's ok. You don't have me be afriad. We're friendly!" she smiled at her.

((Sorry, I got busy with the event. And it was being stupid to me...))
Joshua gave a firm nod of his head. "We'll find out. With watches in the sea and on land, there's no way they'll escape our notice the next time they show up." 'No one is going to mess up my beautiful cove! I chose it because it WASN'T affected, yet here I find that people have been fishing here...' He thought viciously. When he found those who were damaging his cove, they were going to regret it. And Joshua would find them, make no mistakes about. For everyone's sake, the seafolk and his own. He hled out his hand to Katalina. "We'll find them. There's no way to eascape." He gave a smile smile, sounding completely sure of himself.

((OOC: Oh yeah. The event. Is it any good? I've been skipping it. Too busy with last minute Halloween costume preparations IRL. 8D))
Katalina's face was serious, but in her eyes there was the hint of a smile. She put her hand in his and gave it a little shake before letting go again. "Agreed," she said cheerfully. "I can go with a little less sleep to watch out for them." Knowing that she wasn't all alone in this made it so much easier. Then she frowned. "But...when we find them, then what? I mean, I can't exactly show myself. What can we do to make them stop?"

Himheco hid a bit more but watched the girl, then her head peeked out a bit as her mouth moved and her words had a echo to it. "How can I trust you...How do I know...." She said looking at them both again.

Aries looked to Axel then shrugged. "I don't know. You can trust me if you want. I'm not going to hurt you or anything." she laughed. "I mean... look at me? I'm a friendly happy little mermaid!" She swam in a circle.

Joshua looked thoughtful for a moment. Then inspiration stuck like a lightening bolt. "Ghosts!! We could cause a 'ghost area'! When humans find an area where alot of strange things happen, then it's called a ghost area. And if enough strange things happen, it'll make EVERYONE stay away." He frowned. "Though it may initally cause something like a surge of ghost hunters or something." His amber eyes lifted to meet her own. This was just as much her cove as his. Joshua felt he had no right to make any choices like this without asking her. "What do you think? Is it worth it?"

Katalina hesitated. Then her mouth firmed. "If it makes them go away, it's worth it. If I see any others, I'll tell them to clear out for a while," she murmured. "That would make the risk less for them. But..." She frowned. "I don't know any ghosts. Do you know some? What will we give them to make them come here? Do they live in water?" Her innocent questions made it clear she really didn't know what ghosts were, much less what she'd just agreed to.

Himheco swam up to her and tilted her head then lifted her hand slowly. When it touched Aries forehead,a sudden light shone and her eyes got blue...Inside Aries could sense the gil looking into her literally, sweet memories rushed past within her then she saw her as a baby. There was the water spirit she was seeing now next to her, singing to her and there came in her father. The spirit looked at him and father just pointed away making her leave then he said to her,"Don't listen to them too much or they'll take you with them..." his voice said...Then they were back in the real world and the spirit was now letting her arm fall, she nodded to her then looked to Axel. "And you..?" She asked her voice still having a echo to it.

Aries felt really wierd after the mind reading experience. She felt like her mind had been broken into and ransacked. She wasn't sure what she thought of the girl now. Too intrusive...

Himheco flew over to Axel and looked around him then almost did the same thing but saw Aries expression. She flew over to her and tilted her head. "Did that...hurt you..?" She said echoing still in her voice.

"No... it didn't hurt. It's just... My thoughts are my own... Or at least, I thought they were." Aries shrugged. She didn't even understand what the spirit had shown her.

Joshua smiled at her questions. "Do you even know what a ghost is?" He shook his head. "Never mind. It doesn't really matter. But what we have to do is next time we see a boat or something we have to....um....attack? I don't know if that's the best word for it." He looked thoughtful as he tried to figure out how to explain it so that Katalina would understand. "It's like this: What has to happen is something to make the ships not want to come here. Something like, an engine breaking down or seaweed suddenly tangelling in the propellers. Things like that. Stuff that wouldn't normally happen. And it has to be done without anyone knowing why." Joshua stressed the last word.

Katalina blinked at him. "So ghosts are seaweed and engines?" she asked curiously. Then a light came on behind her eyes. "Oh! You think we should be the ghosts, right? We can make things happen and scare them away, so they don't fish here anymore!" She stopped abruptly, realizing she didn't know for sure if that was what he meant. "Right?" she asked tentatively.

"Yes!" Joshua's face light up. "That's it exactly! I'll explain exactly what a ghost is later, but now you've got the idea." Joshua felt relieved. They had a plan now. Plans always made him feel more prepared. 'I'll have to be very careful about my shelter and boat though. If there's ANY sign of humans, they won't believe in ghosts.' "So next time you see a boat or anything, come and get my attention. Then we'll put the plan in motion."
