Well aren't you on the ball today? Gloryah praised, running a hand along one of Zeith's shoulders before urging her on. WE. We are on the ball. Zeith snapped back, correctively.

Another jump, another sliver of Thread reduced to ash. Zeith was practically radiating pride now.

Your dragon is starting to feel tired. This particular fight is wearing them down. A strong gust of winds tries to throw them out of their position. Roll a D4 to see what happens!

4. Whoops! Your dragon is blown completely out of formation, and is too tired to stop it. Fellow wingriders notice, and trumpet warning, though it's unclear if your Wingleader has noticed or not. Either way, your dragon is just spent. Fatigue Effect For the next 3 rolled turns your dragon will suffer from Fatigue Effect. Any XP earned during those turns is negated. On the plus side, any negative status effect (i.e. additional Fatigue Effect or Bitten Tongue) is also negated, since your dragon is too tired to care. The only exception is if you get a status that cures Fatigue or your Wingleader/Wingsecond rolls a status cancelling roll.)

Maybe Zeith had been a little too eager to push herself, because it wasn't long before between that, and the wind, she'd worn herself out. Take a break, slow down. Gloryah pressed, pulling in the mental reigns.

Your dragon flames a small strand of thread, but unfortunately, a gust of wind blows the ash back into you. Your dragon hisses in pain, and if your face isn't protected, you might get a burn yourself! Thankfully, the burn isn't severe, and your dragon at least can carry on. [+1 Pain Resilience // -2 HP]

It as practic, not instinct, that kept L'zant from sucking in a breath that would have put hot ash in his mouth and lungs. Instead, he brushed the crumbly stuff from his beard, grumbling, as the pair fought on.

If they are suffering from a Fatigue Effect, they get a burst of renewed energy and the status is removed. [+1 Stamina] If your dragon isn't suffering, you are allowed to quote a fellow wingmate (must be in your same wing) who is suffering the effect! Your dragon trumpets at them encouragingly, making them feel better, and giving them a renewed burst of energy and effort. Remove Fatigue Effect from one wingmate!

It was with a resigned sigh that Pravdath arrived at his position in the Burning Aces's formation. As he had anticipated, one of their own had already fallen, and many more were too injured to continue the fight. He was as fresh as... a dragon who hadn't yet fought Thread today, and he was on high alert, ready to help his fellow Wingriders if anything disastrous came up.

Something doesn't feel right. You wind up glancing over your shoulder just in time to see a small, silver strand drifting dangerously close to your dragon. Thankfully, your dragon shares your thoughts, and is able to blink Between and higher above their position, missing the strand, and saving yourself from a score. [+1 Instinct]

K'lar had been a nervous wreck before getting into the air, as always. So many things could go wrong during Threadfall, he could disappoint his Wingleader and fellow riders, something might happen to Sam'kel... Faranth, they could accidentally char another wingrider and ground them permanently, just like they'd done to V'tre and Thanoth....

Mnereth said nothing, but his soothing calm washed over his rider. Things would be all right. No matter what happened.... they would be all right.

K'lar wasn't so sure. In fact, he was starting to feel more and more uneasy--and a random glance over his left shoulder revealed why. Thread! It was dangerously close to Mnereth, and the blue blinked Between and reemerged higher above, with his rider's direction.

Now it was Mnereth's turn to spot Thread! The blue made a surprisingly graceful turn, flaming down the writhing strand before it could injure anyone--or worse, fall below where it would cause all sorts of damage....

Watching closely had its advantages, especially when both dragon and rider were attentive. They saw the Thread within moments of each other, and Pravdath turned to flame it away without a word between them.

They were diving on a clump, almost ready to char it--and K'lar could only look on with dismay as Mnereth flamed too early. That dismay soon faded to surprise as the flame was a long, hot streak, easily burning it down. K'lar's pleasure was enough to make the dragon rumble with amusement.

It was early still, but K'lar wasn't a man who took chances. Are you feeling all right? You haven't strained your wings, have you?

Mnereth thought about the question good naturedly, taking his time. Yes. And no. He sent a wave of reassurance to his rider. They were doing fine so far. No problems to report. He did notice that Zeith seemed to be a little tired, and he bugled at her while sending a quiet, confident wave of reassurance her way. She was doing well!

If they had been a more conceited pair, they might have wished for an audience as they cut across the sky, darting and weaving with precision. For Pravdath, M'llin's pride was enough, and the small smile his dexterity brought to the man's face was his greatest reward.

Perhaps Mnereth had spoken too soon... The wind flared up unexpectedly, shoving them soundly out of position! Though the blue strained and struggled, he was unable to return until the wind let up. He sent apologetic feelings to his rider--but K'lar was more concerned by the soreness he could sense in the blue's wing. They'd have to be careful...

They'd seen some action, but nothing terribly intense yet. K'lar was grateful for that much. So far, things were.... going well? He was tentative to even say it, in case he jinxed himself.
