You mange to pull off a quick save with some fancy wing-work! Instead of getting hit by some stray strands, you're able to roll out of harm's way! While you weren't able to catch it, you're certain one of your wingmates will.
Rolling out of the way of Thread should have been second nature by now. It wasn't, and still took effort, but they managed it this time, at least.

Nothing to flame quite yet, which is almost a miracle in this sort of Threadfall. Still, you're able to relax a moment, look around, and take note of your airspace. All's well... for now.
A break! Breaks in the action, so to speak, were very welcome. Z'rai and Kaloth would do their best to be ready for what came next, but having time to take a breath was definitely welcome.

The wind was rough and was tricking capable riders into sometimes making mistakes. It was also sometimes predictable. This time, luck was on the wing's side.

The darker it got, the rougher the winds, the more grateful Z'rai was for all the training they'd been through. He might not have truly appreciated what was being taught at the time, but now, as Kaloth flamed another thick clump of Thread that disintegrated harmlessly, he knew those lessons had been time well-spent.

They were finally back in the fight where they belonged, but it was no less windy! In no time at all, a windblown clump had caught Hyglath in the leg.
