Devon nodded. "It will be done sir. I'll get to it right away" he said to his boss. He then looked at Hiccadu as he was taking off his medical gloves. He looked back at Yani. "Sir, if I could, I would like to request a break after I finish this. I think I've been working too hard today" he said.

"You."
Her fangs almost seemed to sharpen.
"You."
Her claws extended, digging into the floor.
"YOU!"
She twisted, throwing herself against Devon and knocking him backwards, sending him crashing through the wall into the area where the cages were kept as alarms began to ring.
"YOU'VE been working too hard today? YOU want a GODDAMN ******** BREAK?!"
Her voice was a roar inside every mind in the facility, the voice thunderous and painful to everybody present, except those that didn't have a mind that included ears. The only reason TAIS could hear the Chimera's words was thanks to the mental connection they shared, and such a personal connection had TAIS' connections fraying and sparking as the lights flashed sporadically overhead and the robotic robots' movements became jerky and truly robotic.
Hiccadu sank her teeth into something of Devon's as the malfunctioning robots swarmed while lights flashed, everything utter chaos as TAIS fought to get her mechanical mind around the fact that Hiccadu, her ultimate killing machine, herself in flesh and blood, had disobeyed her.
She managed to send a command over shaky connections before Devon was mauled to death.
"STOP HER!"
Tranquilizers didn't pierce her armored skin- electricity only made her angrier. Roaring, she sliced at the humanoid security, slicing some of them in half with her massive tail and knocking others into their counterparts as she hissed.
Only TAIS could stop the insane Chimera, and at the moment she was too busy keeping Hiccadu's roaring at bay inside her own mechanical mind to shut the creature down, however much she knew she had to.
The entirety of time it would take for her to regain control, however, would only take a minute, if not less.
But in the meantime, all the noise and flashing lights and commotion would be very, very distracting.
Hiccadu's roar overshadowed all else.
"YOU! HOW DARE YOU! YOU ******** I WILL REND YOU!!"

Hound let out his animalistic gutteral bellow as he slowly straightened his legs; forcing the cage bars with all his strength, and in the process bending them outwards little by little. He needed to get out of the cage and get blood. But there was more to it than that now. Now his violent side was in charge and his will to get to the blood was stronger than before, because now he could smell fresh blood. Human blood. He could feel the aggression in the air. He almost felt in his heart that he had a sister who was fighting. He felt he needed to join in and help her. He felt he had to help her. He looked directly where one of the cameras was and shouted with little sanity, "I'm gonna kill! Kill! I will Kill! And then the blood will be there for the taking! Kill! I must Kill, I need Blood!" and then with rage in his eyes he bellowed again and said, "I'm coming sister!"
Hound was at this point was too hyped up on the scent of fresh blood to care or even realize that he never had a sister and never would. He could smell the fresh blood of the scientists, and He could smell the one responsible for the damage. Just from scent he knew the gender, and so that mixed with the scent of fresh blood caused him to believe he had a sister. "I'm coming sister!" Even with all of Hound's leg strength, it would take him a lot longer to destroy the cage and get out of it. He'd need T.A.I.S. to focus her attention elsewhere for atleast five more minutes before he'd be able to successfully get out of his cage. The one severe problem with that was that he was too noisy about his attempts, and there was no way in heck that T.A.I.S. could ever be distracted that badly. It could never happen, but in his lack of sanity he actually believed it could happen.

((holy s**t?))
Devon grunted as he was thrown to the ground and felt the claws of the chimera tear through his clothes and flesh. Hiccadu certainly had gone insane and it seemed not even Yani's supercomputer TAIS could stop her. Perhaps too strong of a chimera had been created. Being put through a wall didn't help either. He was pretty sure he had received a few broken bones and now she was tearing at his flesh. He was in bad condition now and would need emergency attention immediately.

((OOC: The song I happened to be listening to on loop while I was reading the past few pages? Three Days Grace, Let’s Start a Riot. No s**t. It’s a sign, guys.))
Apsalar's eyes flicked from John to Tobart just as he went to bite himself. Emotions flashed over her face - shock, fear, anger - and she reached out to him, but too late.
They'd already gone in.
Her eyes blazed up. "No!" she shrieked at him. No, no, no, don’t you dare, not like this, not right after Panther, I’m going to kill you myself for even trying to do that when I get out of here, no Tobart no don’t you dare… The words didn’t come, she just didn’t know them. But they were there in her voice. She was rather close to his cage, having been situated as she was between him and John, and she now reached out to him again, shaking her head.
If you die now I will never forgive you. Don’t desert us now. She didn’t know that her very expressive face was saying what her vocabulary could not, and probably wouldn’t have cared. All she knew was that they had lost Panther, and John might be losing his mind. If Tobart died too, she was going to go crazy as well. Just go stark, raving mad, and eventually they’d put her down as a ‘mercy’ – as if any of them understood the meaning of the word.
Her eyes flicked from him to John, the one she would normally have been appealing to to help her with this madness. But he couldn’t help her right now. Everything was falling apart around them, and the only thing Apsalar could do was try to handle it herself as best her poor, confused, overloaded mind could – because there was no one to help her.
John was heartbroken. And Tobart was dying.
The sound of the wall breaking made her eyes snap up and her breath catch. For a moment, she couldn't process what she was seeing. It wasn't that her eyes weren't showing her - it was simply that her brain refused to believe it.
...Hiccadu...?
No. Couldn't be. Hiccadu was TAIS's greatest creation, something that felt no pity or empathy for any of them. One of theirs who cared nothing for them.
And yet, what her eyes were telling her was that Hiccadu was attacking Devon. Whatever she was screaming made no sense to Apsalar's overstimulated mind, but the intent was clear enough. The other Chimera meant to kill.
And Apsalar prayed as she never had that Hiccadu succeeded.

"I'm going to get that blood!!! I Need It!" Hound bellowed as he continued to bend the bars further and further, the sound of steel stressing heavily was ringing out. He was mere moment from breaking the bars of his cage and separating on wall of the cage from the others. He was going to free himself as quickly as he could and get to that blood. "I've had it with mere drops a day! I want all of it!"

The tears freely poured from the Chimera's eyes, and not just from the pain. Tobart looked up and met Apsalar's eyes, regretting that he did so. "I'm sorry..." he choked, though still did not have the courage to offer the same death to the girl. He glanced at her again, and again quickly shifted his eyes, "Don't... look at me that way..."
Suddenly everything that Tobart was going to lose with his death crashed upon him. If murder caused such a stirring, he hated to think what a murder and a suicide at the same time would do. And it was his fault.
He would miss out on Apsalar. Not that anything could happen, but, just like he clung to the notion of the outside world, he hung on to the idea that one day perhaps she would understand his feelings for her. One day.
It had better be today, then, since it was his last. The pangolin viper scooted over to lean on the side of the cage adjacent to Apsalar's. He tried to hook his fingers onto the bars, but found that his hand wouldn't move. He settled for urgently staring into her face. "Apsalar, I know you can't understand everything that I'm saying, but this is extremely important," his breathing was becoming more and more difficult, "I... really... love you." he met her eyes, hoping to portray his feelings and how important they were. He hoped beyond anything in this world not to live, but that Apsalar might live and remember his words. He hoped she remembered them exactly, and when the day came that she could speak and understand as much as the next human, she would know his message.
The Chimera slumped forward, blood beginning to leek from his ears, staining the pale sides of his face with his life.

Smoke realized in that split second when all hell broke loose that he would have only moments to act. He had been preparing for this day, ever since he saw the Chimerae.
He rushed over to a nearby desk, abandoning the limp form under the sheet to jerk open a drawer, running his hands rapidly over the contents in his search for something absolutely dire. His brain had only had time to process what had happened, and then what needed to happen. John's breakdown, Tobart's suicidal impulse, Hiccadu's astonishing breakthrough from TAIS's control, all happening while Panther's death scream still echoed through the room, coupled with the list of events and plans that Smoke had to improvise and act on... It was amazing, what the human mind could do. It would be even more amazing to discover what a Chimera's mind could achieve.
Finally, his hand landed on the syringe he needed to find, and he grabbed it between firm fingers. He dodged Hound's claws reaching through the bars of his cage, keeping an eye on him, Hiccadu, and any drones that might hinder him.
Tobart would have been out of reach had John not knocked the cages over, but now there was a three-sixty degree way to reach him. Smoke felt through the bars, ignoring as the serrated edges scraped the very topmost layer of skin from the sides of his arms, grabbed the teen's arm and pulled it closer towards him. The boy's ears were bleeding, and Smoke didn't know how much time it would take before the anti-venom began working.
He stabbed the needle into the boy's arm, knowing speed was necessary. He didn't have time for procedure in such circumstances. The amber-colored liquid sped through the needle and into Tobart's vein before Smoke took the syringe out and discarded it, now empty, onto the floor.
"Get them out of there!" Smoke yelled at John, moving to an empty desk, sitting before a computer screen and keyboard. He waited impatiently for the screen to boot up, and then he pulled a USB from off a cord around his neck and inserted it into a stable port.
John looked at him blankly, watching him through a mist as Smoke stuck Tobart with the needle and the anti-venom rushed through it in slow-motion. Smoke's words were garbled, and John closed his eyes, images and thoughts from the day's events repeating in his mind. Smoke kept yelling to him, but it was just another scientist... He could be ignored.
And before he knew it, Smoke was before him, reaching through the bars and gripping his upper arm tightly, shaking him roughly. John could see his name on Smoke's lips, though he couldn't hear himself being called.
Through the haze, his concentration emerged. His eyes slowly began to focus on Smoke and his ears let words and noises become more fluid, clearer. Though the noise of the mayhem was loud, Smoke's urgent, but soft words cut through to him.
"Let them out, John. I don't have time."
Yani watched, in shock, as Hiccadu obeyed not only her master, but TAIS's master as well. In front of him.
As she and Devon crashed through the wall, dust spread up from the ruined concrete and mortar, dressing Yani's black suit in gray dust, setting him to coughing. Through the hole in the wall, through the dust and past his coughing, Yani could see mayhem taking place. Pure Mayhem.
It was madness.
His right hand man had left him, and he was doing something with the Chimerae--it looked at first as though he had stabbed one of them with a tranquilizer, but the Chimera hadn't been moving almost at all. There was a slick-looking wet spot in the Chimera's hair, which hinted that it was probably bleeding.
"TAIS, what the hell's going on?" There was no answer forthcoming, however, in her mad rush to maintain control and stabilize her Chimeran counterpart. He turned instead to his PDA, where he could watch the cameras and access other devices also linked to TAIS, but on a separate proxy from her artificial intelligence frame. It shouldn't have been affected too badly from the current situation.
Which was why Yani was as shocked as he was when he watched every camera snow out, every device become "disabled", "incompatible" or "non-existent". The last image he saw on the cameras was one of a thin-framed man bent over a computer and with almost invisible fingers racing over a keyboard. The man looked up at the last moment, squarely at the camera.
Smoke.
It clicked with John as soon as Smoke had said it. The fact that the scientist was helping him didn't even occur to him in the sheer impact that they would be free.
He looked at the keypad next to the door of his cage. UP5G77. UP5G77.
"UP5G77." His fingers moved clumsily over the keypad, punching in his code, the code Smoke had whispered to him once he had taken over the "disciplinary" factor from Jared while the man recovered.
Smoothly, without a bump or hitch despite the crash onto the floor, John's cage door swung open.
Looking around, the cages of the other Chimerae had opened as well. It must have been an emergency code. No doubt Chimerae in cages all over the slaughterhouse were now open.
Smoke took the USB from the port and disappeared momentarily with a vial and another syringe, this time larger. There was another Chimera who needed taking care of, if they were to all escape.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, wearing a look of harsh regret. The needle slid into the dead Panther's skin, and her blood filled the needle and, then, the vial. She wouldn't need it any longer.
You will not have died in vain.
He quickly--cautiously--made his way past bits of rubble from the wrecked wall and reached Hound. According to the Chimera's charts, his thirst for blood was "insatiable." However, Smoke had kept careful tabs on his blood level consumption He had never been given the appropriated dose.
Now, it was his for the taking. He held his hand outstretched, then set it onto a desk. Smoke was willing to take risks, but he didn't want his hand anywhere near Hound's mouth when he was hungry. He'd seen the chimera eat before.

Hound let out a tremendous bellow that shoook the air as his cage fall apart with a suddenly clatter and a bang. He looked around wildly and sniffed the air before honing in on the syringe filled with blood. He had the needle in his hand and had emptied it into his mouth in mere moments, and then his entire being changed. He looked around and laughed crazily, "I'm Free, I'm Finally Free!" He then looked around and saw the other chimera being set free and realized what was going on. He let out his gutteral bellow and roared, "Everyone follow me if you want to make it out in one piece!!!! I'm not about to lose my Family!!" And he planted both hind legs before launching forward in ablur as he leaped forth. He ran for the front doors of the building.

Tobart had snapped weakly at Smoke as the scientist approached and gripped his arm, a needle in his other hand. It stabbed into him deeply, and he would have cried out if he could have. Instead all the Chimera managed was a sad gurgle and lazy rolling eyes for a glare.
Blood matted strands of his hair and dripped from his nose. His actual wound was bleeding profusely. The Chimera would not experience the worst end of his own venom, however, because of Smoke's act. He coughed, more blood spraying over his clothes and his cage.
His cage that was open. Tobart's eyes fluttered as he focused, trying to draw his nerve and strength together to pull himself out. He called himself all manner of regretful things in his head, wishing that he could have held on just a moment longer... it would be so much easier that way.
It was painful, and his body felt as if it was covered in ants, but the Chimera managed to crawl from his cage. He looked around for Smoke, wanting to give him another chance in the form of a grateful, apologetic look. Well, a chance. The man had never had a first one in the Chimera's mind.
Apsalar! Tobart thought urgently, repainting the floor with his blood as he squirmed toward her fallen cage.
---
Lonomia's cage had been on the bottom, so he hadn't been effected much by the tussle, aside from the fact that his cage door was mostly blocked. It was a good thing he was a terrifically skinny boy, though not so good a thing that he wasn't sure what to do. If he went out now, he was sure to come in contact with someone and they would surely die (at least, that's what he thought, for good reason).
But... they were all leaving? Where were they going? Lonomia wanted to know. He wanted to go too. A thin wrist made it's way out of the cage, then an arm, then his head. Slowly and awkwardly he managed to maneuver out of the enclosure, though not without a few minor scrapes. If he'd had words, the boy would question what was going on. Instead he stared, trying to get bearings and avoiding physical touch.

Hound turned and ran back towards the cages; Stopping in front of tobart. "Come on Little Brother, I'm not gonna leave you behind. Not even if I have to die to get you out. I'm not leaving my family behind..." And then Hound noticed where Tobart was moving towards, and it took him a moment to understand. "Need help?"

Tobart weakly nodded, gladly taking the help of Hound. Hound, who just minutes ago terrified the Chimera. As every moment passed, Tobart gained more and more strength from the antivenin. He struggled, falling once upon Hound for support. He looked into the eyes of the massive Chimera, pleading for help in his weak moment. All he needed was a strong arm to lean on, and his eyes showed it.

Hound helped Tobart to remain standing and at the same time he said, "As long as I'm around, No one will do you any harm. And No one shall harm her either if I can help it." Hound gently hugged tobart for a second. "Sorry, But I had to do something to make up for all the fear I've caused. But like I've been saying for years I need blood. Without it, well, you've seen the monster I become."

When Hound put his arms around Tobart, the Chimera was shocked at how gentle the other was. Tobart placed a hand on Hound's large arm, "No; I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been so quick to judge you." a crash in the distance brought him back to the situation, "There's no time to talk now... let's get the others and leave."
