The blue came back up! Her brother was safe. Molihuth gave a huge mental sigh and relaxed, eyes once more swirling with the joyful colors of blue and green. She watched her brother snap the snake and now she was just really curious about it.
Mine! A chance to learn, come, let's see?
"Uuuuh." He shook his head and fell to his rear once more. He liked sitting on this really hot sand, apparently. "No? Molihuth, that's the hatching sands. We can't go there! Well, maybe you could, but I shouldn't! We're taught not to..."
But weren't you trying to get to one of the others? You walked on the sands...
"Yeah and your mom growled! I'm not going near there again!" He was young, but not that stupid. "Come on, Molihuth, let's go back to oiling. Look! There's more siblings."
Content with that suggestion, Molihuth looked back at her blue brother and then made her way back through the candidates to the oiling station.

Dorianus
The showboating brown had decided to come over to Rio just after Dorianus had thought such a thought about him, and it seemed the brown hadn't cared much for it. Although the brown did not outright attack him, he did swipe his tail against his leg and caused a pain to radiate through it for a moment. Grey eyes looked disdainfully down at the brown, even as it moved off and impressed.
He was only half listening to the conversations between those around him, his new 'friends', more interested in the going ons then anything else. All during this the polite little blue who had helped his bronze brother was moving towards them after his bronze clutchmate had impressed. On his part, Dorianus wasn't paying much attention, having figured this wasn't the clutch for him to impress, had he truly wanted to impress a dragon, or had he thought it was a duty when his grandfather suggested it to him after thread returned?
All these thoughts left his mind when the blue was near him and then wings were around him, pulling him close and a little wedged head was pressed against him. He stared down at the blue, a little confused and then he heard the voice within his head. My Dorianus... You are a cut above the rest, and meant only for me. Your Harneth is here for you, forevermore. We shall do great things, you and I.
Even if he had wanted to pull away from the little dragonet it wouldn't let him and honestly, he didn't either. There was something special in what was going on and he hadn't expected it to feel like this. There was such adoration and respect in that rainbow whirling gaze as impression was made.
"Harneth." He spoke the dragonets name to himself outloud, softly, tasting the name on his lips as he felt the new bond in his mind. While it was scary at the same time, he had never thought about how he would feel sharing his mind and emotions with another being, it just felt so right and this little regal blue was all his.
It was only after a few moments that Harneth allowed Dorianus and he to part, eyes still looking up at the tall man. Come, you must meet your fellow weyrlings and my clutchmates, and I am hungry. There was no arguing with the blue on this, Dorianus could feel the hunger beginning to gnaw in his own gut and he chuckled softly to himself, a soft smile upon his thin lips. "Of course." He turned to look at the 'friends' he had made. "It seems you two were good luck charms." He spoke this to Rio and Alya before he moved and followed Harneth away from the others and where the tables for feeding were set up.
Harneth walked regally over towards the tables, eyes moving over everything, very much proud of his and wanting to show how great his bonded was. As they neared the tables, Harneth stopped for a moment and nuzzled Moseleth as he found a place to sit. Are you doing better brother? He was glad Moseleth had been able to find his, and that he had bee able to help.
Dorianus felt a little out of his element with the other weyrlings around but he found a spot near where Harneth had chosen ad grabbed a knife, beginning to cut up the pieces in just the right size so that the blue could eat. For Harneth's part he ate delicately and made sure every piece was chewed just right. Dorianusmine, the weyrlingmaster and assistangs will come around soon. You shall need a new name. The man just nodded, not having thought about this as others might have. Do you have any suggestions, Harneth? The blue seemed to think for a moment before answering, Dr'cul. To the blue, it sounded regal and fitting for his rider.

[ r'ose and sahrawith ]
The pair continued to work on oiling one another, with R'ose mostly doing all the world and Sahrawith leisurely laying on her back, stomach exposed for the rubs she desperately needed. R'ose was beyond thankful she was a small dragon, and he glanced over at the arrival of one of the new bronzeriders. An unfamiliar face, likely from Western then, and an arrogant beast that had mauled up someone.
No thanks, neither he nor Sahrawith were interested in that level of hot mess.
"Feeling better, Sahrawith?" The green cooed her pleased response, her eyes so bluegreen it looked as though gemstones had taken root in her eye sockets. Her itching was nearly gone, for the moment, but he'd need to make sure she was practically soaking in the oil before he could even consider her properly done. He could stand some more oil on himself, were he being honest, and he thought about asking if one of the healers could bring over some aloe or something.

((Prepare yourselves for a big pile of internal thinking and little motion.))
Ticene - High Reaches Candidate
How did anyone ever keep up with all this. Ticene had thought keeping track of a couple of energetic children was tough. Now she struggled to look everywhere at once. The green she liked was still looking, so was a bronze and a blue. Eggs were moving- oh and that one seemed to be hatching a blue. Had she missed anything? Faranth it was exhausting. The newest blue was cleaning himself off, good start little man. Alya's comment made Ticene snicker. She had a point of bowing dramatically. "Greetings fair maidens, am I not the most handsome bronzerider you've ever seen?"
Uh oh, it seemed like someone was in trouble. Ticene leaned forward to look along the group to see the snarling bronze letting everyone know that everything was not okay. Oh, was that what had happened? Someone had thought something that the hatchlings didn't like? Ticene wondered if any had looked inside her head, would she know if they had? None had taken the time to stop in front of her and look, so maybe that was when they did it. She was also curious, what had the lad that seemed to be the vocal point of the bronzes anger thought to bring on this reaction?
A loud trumpeting had her almost jumping out of her skin, far too focused on the angered bronze that she had completely missed the brown making his big entrance. Ticene hadn't been to enough hatchings to know that the brown was much bigger than a brown usually was, but she had eyes. The newborn was a beast of a hatchling. "Well if not a bronze, maybe a brown that dwarfs the bronzes. Although I think Esfir here would be most striking with him." Wouldn't that be entertaining, if dragons picked based on their riders size. They could all just be lined up in height order and it would be so much quicker. Small green, far left, miss. Bronze? Right hand side of the line if you would.
The brown was certainly a performer though, there was no denying that. His eyes didn't go turn rainbow for the girl who he clearly got along famously with. In that regard Jacquol was better than Ticene. To have the brown come up and the two of them to hit it off so well, only to know he would soon leave to someone else, she wasn't sure she could do it.
She jumped yet a second time when an unfamiliar voice crashed into her mind. Only a handful of dragons had ever spoken to her and none had been angry when doing so. So the lad had thought something bad about the clutchmother? Ticene quickly glanced over at said gold, then back to the scene. Just in time to see the bronze pounce. She let out a sympathy groan at the idea of the weight. If she were being honest she couldn't really blame the bronze, when she had been younger she might have reacted the same way had someone insulted her mum. Although the slash seemed a little unnecessary. The bronze strutted away and Ticene quickly tried to make her mind go blank as he issued a challenge. Nope, she did not want in on that at all.
Once the bronze had moved on she noticed that the showman brown had come over to their little spot. How had she missed someone so big approaching? The brown was cuddled up to Rio, maybe he was who he wanted. With a dragon so intent on putting on a show it was kind of hard to tell. When the brown struck Dorianus Ticene lifted a hand to stifle a giggle. She could just imagine the candidate thinking something unflattering about the brown. She hadn't known him long, but she was beginning to think that he was... for lack of a better phrase, a stick in the mud.
It seemed they had been joined by more of the brown's fans. Well if there was a dragon that wouldn't mind a crowd it was probably going to be this one. A blur of movement and the previously angry bronze was pouncing again. This time though it seemed to be in impression. Well at least they didn't have to worry about him getting upset at anyone again. Ticene glanced around and saw the other bronze and his blue brother starting to check over the candidates.
Just then a soft voice asked everyone to form a line, that was more the tone she was used to. Ticene didn't really think about not complying with his request. It required little effort from her, and it made the bronze feel better. Would the bronze pick her? Highly unlikely. There was a chance that his blue brother might look her way though. The poor bronze seemed so concerned and now he had stumbled. Mother hen mode activated and Ticene tried something she hadn't before. She attempted to broadcast her thoughts toward the bronze. It's okay, you can do it. Take your time, there are plenty here for you to choose from. A lad left the line, but it didn't seem it was for either the bronze or the blue that he was leaving for. Instead the showman brown had finally made his choice. Well the lad would certainly have his hands full.
A creel caught her attention and Ticene turned her head to see a gold. An actual gold this time. That raised her odds since the boys were all disqualified from the golds selection. Then again the impressions had been very boy heavy so far, so her odds weren't the best. Oh no! The gold shied away, Ticene was already in mother hen mode, poor little mite. So many of the hatchlings here seemed to be shy. Ticene mentally reached out to the gold. Sweetheart, you can do it. If you need a hand I can help you look, your brothers are here too, they can help you find someone.
It was then that worry wiggled into Ticene's mind and she quickly looked around at the other hatchlings. What if one wanted her, but found her thinking of another? Would they be hurt, would they decide she wasn't worth it after all? Ticene turned her head this way and that to take stock of the remaining hatchlings and eggs. Maybe one in there wanted her? Hopefully one of them thought she was good enough. It was a little selfish, but she hoped to impress even though it was her first time standing.
Her gaze landed on the second green impressing and she felt a pang of disappointment. She'd liked the little spark. Hoped that she would think that Ticene was worth her time. It seemed that she wasn't though. The green had made her choice and not even spared Ticene a glance. But then no dragon had even looked her way so far. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. She couldn't complain though. Many candidates had stood multiple times and she was only on her first. Still, to know that according to all these dragons she wasn't good enough stung.
The gold set off and Ticene sighed. The gold passed by many girls, but the bronze early had showed that really that didn't mean she didn't want them. The blue continued his viewing. Maybe one would look her way. Even briefly. Ticene was a little too wrapped up in her own dampening mood to respond to her companies' comments with anything more than a slight smile.
The blue approached, she held her breath, and he chose someone else. Well at least Rio and Alya's luck had worked for someone. A blue hatched, and a green. There was still hope. She had to remain positive, otherwise a dragon that liked her may decide she was too negative. Pull it together girls you're better than that. Don't go being all mopey.
The blue pounced and an egg was on the move. It seemed things were picking up speed again. The blue had a bit more of Ticene's focus. The gold had shown herself to be a capable carer, if the egg was in danger she would intervene. The blue was making such a commotion that Ticene was just a little worried. When he emerged triumphant she grinned despite everything. Oh what a brave boy he was. Seeing the blues pride it was hard not to be fond of him. What a good lad, protecting his siblings from the big, bad, snake.

Susurinth had almost cried out in alarm when her son -- as quickly as he had been pulled under -- reappeared. Her eyes, yellow-white with worry, quickly resumed their normal blue green, though she did lean down to fuss over the blue hatchling. A nuzzle here, a poke at the dead thing there, and to assure herself that the little one was really okay.
Perhaps you should find Yours now, little one? You gave us all quite the fright!
---
The White Rabbit Green did not necessarily appreciate this outburst. Why was her brother stealing the show? No one was paying attention to her. She gave a little pout, and a little cheap, and tried to sashay her way round the Candidates. Why wasn't anyone paying attention to her??
Wasn't she more lovely than a dead tunnelsnake?
Cheep? Cheep cheep?
---
The Indigo & Yellow Egg continued to roll. This time, aiming right for Rio and Alya!
---
???? . . . something else was wriggling under the sand. Whatever could that be?
---
With a sudden pop The Solid Leaf Green egg's top popped right off! With a happy and cheerful trill another green dragon was exposed. Oh wow, this all looked fun! Oh boy oh boy! Cheeping loudly again, the green struggled to get out of her egg. There was so much to do, and so many people to see, and so much fun to be had!! Peep, peep, peep!

[ r'ose and sahrawith ]
Sahrawith closed both of her eyes for a moment before casually and lazily opening only one to look at her clutchsib. The eye was still the merry bluegreen, and the dragonet send a wave of comfortable feelings over her rider as she debated answering her sister. I am very happy. I no longer itch, and mine no longer itches too. Plus the sun is not so hot over here, and I want to nap. The smaller green sneezed at the end of her thoughts, covered R'ose with a fine mist of baby snot. Sorry.
"S...s'all good." R'ose voice clearly trembled as he tried to talk, but he quickly cleared his throat and turned his attention to the chubby green's rider. Tiny guy on a fat dragon, eh? He'd be laughing about that for a while, thanks breadboy for the internal humor. "Also I know who you are. You introduced yourself to me earlier, remember? When your dragonet tried to sneak food to mine, even though she didn't need any?" Sahrawith snorted, and R'ose took one of her claws in his fingertips, playfully shaking her foot. "I'm R'ose."
