Getting his wits about him again, Zeath managed to flame down another bit of Thread. He was feeling a little better but he'd need to get his wind back to push on.

D'mon had absolutely been telling the truth when he said things were bad in the sky. Not that L'zant had failed to believe him, but it was so much more real in the middle of the mess. Another leap Bteen froze the stuff tangled around his leg and splattered againt Bhavaranth's side, but the pain remained.

As he chewed another mouthful of firestone, Menankith bit his tongue. Again. Really? The brown sighed and grumbled unhappily, but a few words of encouragement from one of their wingmates took his mind off of it.

Bhavaranth flamed a clump of Thread into nothingness and L'zant breathed a little sigh of relief. More times than not, they made a difference. That had to count for something.

Menankith was mid-dive for a clump of Thread when he jerked hard to the right, prompting a startled yelp from Nadry. But he'd done it just in time to avoid being hit in the face when the wind blew the piece of Thread back at him.

Another hour had passed, and night was quickly falling. As Venandith continued to fight, the wind, which seemed more an enemy than Thread itself, blew ash back at him. The dragon snarled in irritation, but carried on.

Though Zyamel tried to keep herself alert, it was getting dark, and fast. Sure enough, a thick tangle of Thread landed squarely on Venandith wingsail, and the dragon snarled in sudden pain. It took her a moment longer than she would have liked before giving Ven the coordinates--and when they appeared, she could tell the wound stung. He had a large, smarting hole right in the middle of his wing... And all she could hope was that it didn't rip.

Are you sure you're okay, Ven? Zyamel gently reached out to her brown, who sent back a surprisingly large amount of love, and confidence. Almost as if to prove himself, the dragon gave a large loop, as he flamed down some Thread above him.

I couldn't be any better. It might burn a bit--but I'd rather it take me down than my wingmates.
